One minute, the plague doctor was on its feet! The next, it was enveloped in one of those back-blade-bending hugs (and, indeed, when G released it, its back-blades were a bit askew). And the next, Riley was placed in its arms.
It wasn't ready.
THUD.

Of all the things Riley could have expected for the night, it certainly wasn't that she would be continuously dropped on top of others. And yet, Tybalt's mishap nonwithstanding, she had now found herself on top of a second student, only this time it was.. Malodore.
Riley struck her hands out, out of instinct, and they collided with the floor just in time to save Malodore from her full weight being dropped against it. When she quickly rolled off it, she put both of her hands on her face, covering them completely.
For a moment, it might have looked as though Riley was upset, but a few seconds passed before the sudden sound of laughter began to seep from her. It was quiet at first, a little chuckle, that grew and grew, until finally Riley fell back on the dance floor, uninhibitedly laughing her head off. It was the kind of open, honest laughter she'd never done before, and it felt good.
Oh Jack help me, this night. She finally choked out, pushing herself back up to a seated position. It was certainly a night she would never forget - and for once, that wasn't a bad thing.
She grabbed G's leg, and used it as leverage to help herself up, before holding a hand out for her plague doctor. Are you okay? While concerned, she was still helplessly laughing.

Perhaps unfortunately, Gargantuan did not see a problem with this entire circumstance. He did freeze a little when they both seemed to topple over, but as Riley's laughter echoed through his mind, the swamp monster's tail bashed itself happily against the floor. Laughter was good! That meant Riley was happy, and so that made G happy!
"Yaaaay." Came the affectionate rumble, and he crouched down a little, nosing at the pair of them with his blunt snout. "Happy?"
Everyone should have been happy!

The entire time she prayed it would be over. At least she actually danced at the dance. She told herself that she would never dance in the next hundreds of years. Ever. As soon as the song was over she back away too and crossed her arms. "Thanks I was aiming for that look." Because that is what dressing up was about. Did he just say that about himself too? Huh.
"Well as long as you said it first than yeah it kind of sucks." She sighed and looked around. What to do now? Bother West more? Sounded like a plan. Holly waited a moment then took a seat a chair away from West, so there was an empty seat between them. "Lose you date there?" Holly fidgeted with her dress for a moment. Darn thing.

"Are you trying to cast a spell on me," she teased. Her father had tried to get her to learn some foreign languages as a child but she had never been interested in it so paid little attention. Had he said something about being pretty? And something about proportions? She had to say something back, right?
"Trece... pe piine," it was hopeless. She would never recall enough of any of the languages she had been schooled in to hold a real conversation. One more thing her father would hold against her. "Truth or Dare sounds interesting. I've never played it but I've heard about it. Did you get dared to do anything.. interesting?" It seemed that for an undead, Christof sure got around at the school and knew a lot of people. Could there be truth to her father telling her she wasn't normal?
Mimic scowled as much as a box could when the scareon passed him. Was this the patchwork's pet? They certainly were a pair. Would he be as protective of the undead as he would be of Morrigan. He'd have to reassess the situation.

Malodore shook its head slowly, then looked up at Riley, her laughter resounding through its head. It opened its beak in a wry smile and took her outstretched hand. "Forgive me, signorina, but alas... plague doctors are not known for their physical strength!"

".. The difference there is that.. You can't always control a fire but singing is something you either do or don't do," he blinked at Amrita. Jericho really didn't know why these girls wanted him to sing again so badly, but he really didn't want to go on and do that here.
Raising an eyebrow, he vaguely recalled the gryphon named Tahki from the Christmas trip. It was a little hard for him to imagine her doing some crazy suicide attack. Regardless of that, he wished he could have gone to see that. It sounded like it was pretty insane and he probably would have enjoyed at least watching it happen. He wouldn't like to be in the actual bands, performing and whatnot.
"Sounds like it was fun."

It's fine, it's- She was interrupted by a snout nosing her tentacles, and turned around to press her forehead against G in a less inappropriate return of affection after she'd helped Malodore up. Yes, G. We're very happy. She assured him, patting his arm gently. She caught a glimpse of Malodore's bent blades, and winced slightly. She certainly could do nothing about it, however. Except.. to keep Malodore from another hug, perhaps.
I believe you were saying something about cutting in? She interjected smoothly.

"Si, happy," Malodore added quickly, for Gargantuan.
Then it grabbed Riley's hands and twirled her away, somewhat inexpertly and in vaguest imitation of some of the dances it had seen. It narrowly avoided tripping over the swamp monster's tail on the way.

Riley allowed both hands to be taken, but didn't quite expect to be twirling. It vaguely reminded her of the feeling she'd just experienced a moment ago when she was flung in the air, but at least her feet were on the ground this time, and she wasn't going as fast. Her hands clung tighter to Malodore, planting her feet when she was finally at the end of her twirl. She stopped just in front of it, and gave it a wry glance. Her eyes slit just slightly.
You told me you didn't know how to dance. She whispered, sounding just a touch betrayed - though the amusement in her voice ruined the facade. One hand released it to slide around it's waist, more careful than normal to keep from it's blades. Privately, she asked - You're not hurt, are you? You're, ah, bent. She had no idea if that even hurt or not.

"They don't hurt, no. They are simply metallic protrusions, with no nerves. I will simply have to spend a bit of time straightening them later... and, as far as dancing goes... I don't. This is what they call 'winging it'," Malodore said sheepishly. "If you have any idea of what to do, please, lead on..."

Riley shook her head quite fervently. No, nono. I have no idea what I'm doing. Except the tango. And, ah, you don't want to dance that, trust me. It can get rough. She did, however, take stock of what others were doing around her, and kept a running tally of their moves as the two glided between couples. Learning by example was always the best way. Yaya and Sharra were in her line of sight, and her head tilted as she watched the two. They seemed very self-involved - was dance meant to be so engrossing?
I really think it's simpler than we think, though. At least, generic dancing is. Her eyes returned to Malodore's, crinkling slightly. At least you're keeping my feet on the ground. A chuckle escaped as she said that, wrapping around her words like a caress. I'll help you straighten them out later, if you want. I won't be sleeping tonight, I might as well make myself useful.

Lucien was Lucien was the best friend a siren could have hoped for. He was the subject of another hug before Israfel saw it. It was- "Lucy. LOOK." The karaoke machine. Taking a deep breath, and filled with so much happiness caution was throw to the wind. Caution, and common sense. He was a siren that could not sing. Not to mention if he sang he might make a fool of himself. But he was so happy. So happy and excited and- "I'm going to do it." Israfel clasped Lucien's hands. "I'm going to sing you a song."
Running on stage, Israfel grabbed the mic, not even waiting.
I used to think that I could not go on And life was nothing but an awful song But now I know the meaning of true LURVE I'm leaning on the everlasting wings
If I can hear it, then I can do it If I just ship with it, there's nothing to it
I believe I can fly I believe I can touch the sky I think about it every night and (He paused) NIGHT Spread my wings and fly TO THE SKKKKYYYY I believe I can soar I see me running through campus doors I believe I can fly I believe I can fly I believe I can fly
See I was on the verge of breaking down Sometimes screams can seem so loud There are terrors in life I must achieve But first I know it starts outside of me, oh
If I can see it, then I can ship it If I get pic..its, there's nothing to disprove it
Hey, cause you believe in me, oh
If you can see it, then I can do it If you just believe it, I will prove it
Hey, if I just spread my wings I can fly I can fly I can fly, hey If I just spread my wings I can fly
Fly-eye-eyeEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
His last note was long and drawn out. Israfel had killed the song. It was off key, broken, and choppy. But all Israfel knew was that he'd sung. On stage. He had managed to sing in public. Israfel had beaten one of his worst fears.
For Lucien.

Her attention was captured by Sin as she started singing, but she soon turned back to Jericho, "Might not want to say the can't always control fire part..." She threw a worried sort of glance at Amrita (well, her back since she was seated on her lap) before nodding slowly, "Speaking of which... Amrita, sing with me? I'll try to get Tess too, if she's not too busy with Sepheran..." She giggled softly at the thought, "It'll be fun! Besides, Jericho went, Riley went and even Christof went!"
She threw her best puppy look at the Vetala, before looking at Jericho with the same expression, and then back at Amrita again.
Of course, when Sin exited the stage and Israfel took it, Lizzy immediately froze, holding onto Amrita as the first word was sung; Israfel was the president of the club she was in. The only club she was in. And yet, she had heard a lot about his singing - most of which involved tears, and burst ear drums. As the song ended, she slowly relaxed, letting the ghoul go. After that experience, she could only conclude that the rumors were not exaggerated at all - for a siren, his singing was terrible.
Points for effort though!
Besides, he was Amrita's band member! As he left the stage, she clapped, smiling a little at how happy he looked; that was worth listening to the whole song. She'll just never look at that song the same way ever again.

Malodore wasn't entirely sure if walking around in a pattern really counted as dancing, but... it went with it. "Grazie. It is not a difficult job, it just requires me to free them and then flatten them out with the aid of a small padded hammer. More menial than scientific, honestly."
It didn't have the luxury of watching others now - it was focusing a lot of its thought on keeping its tail out of the way, remembering how badly that had fouled up its dancing with Junko!
