>_< She was just about to leave when she heard some dismal crying and Alyosha's voice calling to her. Never a moment of peace... that'd be FAR too easy. Ughu. Well... maybe he just needed her for a brief moment or something, and then he'd let her go.

Turning around she mustered up a smile as she looked right over his shoulder. It, of course, looked like she was looking right at him, but she was far too smart to fall for THAT again.

Alyosha walked towards Sy. He was wary for a moment, her eyes didn't show her smile but eh.. desperate times and all that..

"Syren.. I..well" he paused, not sure how to pounce this upon her. Simplicity always worked out best, he thought. "You were thinking of staying on the Island only.. I .. er need another Aerandir guardian in a hurry and.. this little one reminded me of you" he smiled. A little bit of kindness wouldn't hurt to hopefully smooth thngs along.

She eyed him strangely, more for the attempts at flattery, wondering if somehow Orian knew about this and they were in a conspiracy to keep her there. All of it was starting to make her a bit jittery and testy because she was doubting it. As she was about to say something she looked at him and his desperate look made her melt.

Sighing in resignation she plopped down in a chair. This was all very convenient. "Did Onuris tell you?" He had to. It wasn't like the poor man would offer someone who nearly died on him twice some helpless child, right?

Aly eyed her for a moment. "Onuris? your..son, yes?" he asked, sure she had mentioned him maybe once or twice. "Tell me what?" he asked, intrigued. the bundle in his arms wiggled impatiently and he looked down, using one hand to lightly stroke it, soothing the little creature.

"I'm not sure what you're talking about, Sy... "he said "Noone else even knew about this little bundle until late last night, there was a bit of an accident, you see, some smashed bottles, left a little too long ..."he paused looking at her. "Please, Sy, I'd trust few people and.. you've been a mother, from what I gather a good one.."

"Well of course I'll take him.. her... ," she said, quickly letting the topic of her son go. Okay, so maybe he hadn't told Aly and she had made a weeee bit of mistake. To have all these men in her life urging her to take another child did make her wonder, but she trusted them enough she could trust in their judgement... even if she didn't entirely agree.

I mean, she was running from an island because she was getting flustered. How good of a person did that make her?

Alyosha could see something was bothering her. Perhaps.. recent events? He walked towards her, using one arm to cradle the bundle, the other reaching out to take a light hold of her shoulder. He looked down, bending a little ways so that he could look her directly in the eye.

"You've had your... issues her, my dea, but... you've always seemed kind and willing to help... You've managed to lose a fear of these creatures and you've become good friends with several poeple on the Island. I would say that's quite and achievement." he smiled a little "And I guess I can't say I owuldn't be happy for you to stay around here a little more.. seems I hardly see you except to say goodbye nowadays.."

He leant forward a little, allowing Sy to see a little ways into the bundle, a bright blue head sticking out with large but soft grey-brown ears pricked up and curious. "She doesn't even have a name.." he trailed off, hopefully leading Sy into temptation.

As he looked at her in the eye she squirmed a little, not really wanting to delve into those issues at the moment. That he thought so highly of her made her blush and her heart skip a couple beats so that for a moment she was between wanting to hit and hug him for talking in such a way. If he weren't holding such an adorable little bundle, she might have done both, but there was a child to be held.

"Let me hold her," she said quietly, taking the bundle into her arms to survey the little one quietly. She might not know much about relationships, but falling into a materal role seemed much easier... she was, after all, the eldest sister in her family and even remembered Myra being born. Having a girl, though, after two boys... it would be a change.

That's what she was... change.

"I think we'll call you Delta," she cooed at the Aerandir, gently poking it on the nose/beak with affection.

Alyosha smiled as he watched Sy's mother instincts kick in. "Delta, eh?" he smiled at the little thing, then at Sy. He could see a look in her eye that he hadn't seen in a long time. Motherly love, maybe? He wasn't sure.

"If you like I'll arrange for you to stay in one of the houses? It might be more comfortable for you..."

The little Aerandir in her hands struggled around a bit, disliking the heat of the blanket. She nuzzled her way out of it, the fabric falling to the floor. "Keee-aaa kee-aaa"

Carefully shifting Delta's weight to one arm she handed Alyosha the blanket and then proceeded to stroke Delta's wings thoughtfully. She really didn't have the things for a home together... and even teleporting, it would take a few days to get some furniture, personal effects, food, and other necessities moved in there. Biting her lip she considered her choices.

"I don't have any furniture or food or anything else that we'd need with me." Blinking, she realized that Delta probably ate different food than her. This might be an experience. ^^;;;

Alyosha nodded a little. "There is plenty of food here, don't worry about that. The food here is for Aerandir and their owners to use so feel free to take it. Hmmm

We don't have any spare furniture here at the moment but.. how about you stay with me until you can arrange for your things to be here?"

He looked at the contentedlooking little Aerandir. He was sure he had made the right choice of guardian.

Stay... with... Aly. She froze, which caused Delta no small agitation. The pretty lady was petting her and talking to her in a kind voice when all of a sudden she stopped. Looking more indignant than anything else, Delta started to flap her wings and start protesting with a "Keee-aaa!" to bring the woman back to her senses.

Did she kill it? Sy was ghastly white (this time pale with fright instead of red with embarassment) and slightly stiff. Hrm. Well surely SHE hadn't done anything wrong... and so she started to protest loudly at Alyosha who at least looked as if he could hear her.

Alyosha looked at the pair and laughed. Loudly. Slowly it came down into silence as he realised she wasn't turning less pale. She seemed unsure of the little creature.

"Don't worry... they're tough little things." he grinned. "Now.. come on.. come with me, we'll have some tea" he lightly pressed Sy's shoulder.

In a sort of daze Sy followed Aly, trying to numbly come to several realizations at the same time. She had just adopted a daughter and been invited to live in Aly's home at the same time. o__o;;; Her poor little mind was whirring so fast she almost had steam coming out her ears. Yes... tea... she'd have... tea.

After a few more protests from Delta, now slightly concerned, she managed a smile down to the little creature and petted her soothingly as if nothing was bothering her. Poor dear wouldn't understand, would she? Kissing her on the top of her head she tried to regain her entire functioning brain.

"Uh... er... I um... we don't have... stay in your place. I-I'm sure we'll just... be a bother." Her tone sounded nervous as she stuttered along.

Alyosh walked through his door, holding it for Sy. He walked in after her, smiling at her protests. "No, really, Sy. I would feel bad for you and the little one to be staying in one of the spare rooms... She's a little big for that.." he walked towards the kitchen.

"Make yourself comfortable, i'll be back in a minute."

She blinked as she was left in the living room and looked at Delta for some help, who of course just stared at her. It was like the blind leading the blind. Settling down Delta delicately, she sat down next to her child and looked around. Last time she remembered being in her she was a cat. >_o

"I think he's clueless," she sighed, both relieved and somewhat worried by Alyosha's apparent ignorance. Delta tilted her head to the side and settled in Sy's lap as if listening and trying to understand.

"Kee-ah?"

Laughing softly and stroking the tiny feathers on Delta's head, she felt somewhat calmed by the little one. How was it the world slowed, calmed, and seemed so much brighter when there was someone who needed you?

"Are you tired? I don't know where he expects us to sleep..." she murmured, looking around. The guest rooms were easier to comprehend... they had a clear bed, desk, and chair. This room was full of... cushions.
