In the mundane sense I live in upstate New York state in the USA.

Tough one. I would really, really like to not live too close to anyone. I would love the peace and quiet of listening to the birds sing, the wolves howl and the trees creak.
Right now I listen to the neighborhood kids, the radio of the person sunning herself next to the pool that is through my back trees, the nailgun of the workmen putting a roof on three doors up the street and the traffic on the six-lane highway that is four blocks away.
I could really get into not hearing most of that.

I listen to a mixture: modern "celtic" with some traditional thrown in, some alternative, some techno, lesbian rock (think: Melissa and Indigo Girls, etc.), and a lot of female vocalists (Loreena McKennitt and Sarah MacLachlan, etc.)
