Savanah rolled her eyes at Jet, exasperated. "Well I wonder why."
Carter looked up at Adrian. "Daddy? Can I hold J-J-" He frowned at himself, his tongue sticking out. "Can I hold J-Julia?" He smiled, triumphant at his small victory.
Savanah smiled. "Don't worry hun, you'll say her name so much, you'll never have trouble saying it."
Carter smiled, half of his attention still on Adrian and his little sister.
Savanah looked back at Jet and Kaidne. "So, no drama's going down. How are we going to entertain ourselves?" She said, half serious.

Carter smiled, and hopped up onto the couch beside Adrian, his adopted father.
Savanah looked over at Jet and Kaidne. She folded her legs under her, and leaned towards them. "I wonder...what his parent's are doing without him. He never talks about them, but..." In the so little time she's know Carter, she couldn't imagine life without him.
Carter looked over at her. "I don't think they miss me." He said softly.
Savanah blinked in shock, partly because he shouldn't have been able to hear her, and because he sounded so grown up. Like an adult trapped in a toddler's body. "What do you mean, sweat heart?"
He looked down, using one hand to reach out and pat Julia's hand gently. "I changed the first time when I was two. And my old mommy got real scared. She screamed, and my old daddy kept yelling at me. So I changed back, and ran to my room." He murmured, still staring down at his lap. "They didn't talk to me for a long time, I think maybe a lot of days. I stayed in my room for a a real long time so I wouldn't scare them. But then they started being really funny, like act like robots. They would smile a lot, and talk to me a lot and stuff like that, but they never looked at me, really. When Mommy talked to me, or smiled at me, she looked over my head. Daddy would always close his eyes." He shifted, so he was staring at Adrian's shirt, and removed his hand from Julia.
Sighing, he continued. "When I turned five, I changed again. And Mommy and Daddy stopped being nice. Mommy said I had to take a bath...but when I got in the water...she pushed me down. I couldn't get out of the water. It hurt, but she kept pushing my head under the water." He sniffed, even though his eyes were dry, and his voice was completly emotionless. "I changed again, and ran. No one could catch me, because I was real fast. And I found you, Mommy. And you didn't hurt me." He looked up, smiling brightly. "You and Daddy don't hurt me. You like it when I change." He repeated, softer this time.
Savanah sat there, shoulders heaving in silent sobs. She stared at her adopted son, who stared back with wide, childish eyes. She understood why he didn't have all of his innocence now.
Carter smiled again. "So Mommy and Daddy don't miss me. But that's okay. Because I have a new Mommy and Daddy, and I have Uncle Kaidne and Uncle Jet, and Uncle Rudi, and Uncle Jorden, and Aunt Melody, and Williem, and Gramma, and Julia." He said firmly, wrapping his small arms around Adrian.

Savanah was about to reach out and grab Carter, when she heard something hit the stairs.
Rudi half ran, half fell down the stairs, then launched himself onto the couch, landing half on Savanah, half on Jet and Kaidne.
Savanah stared incredulously at the heap of boy on her. "Rudi? Are you okay?" She peered at him.
Suddenly, he jumped up, bounced on the couch, and practically flew off the furnature, and landed face first onto the floor. His eye twitched as he stared intensely at it.
Savanah sighed. Great.
Melody appeared beside the couch. "Yes. Yes he is crazy."
Savanah jumped, surprised. "Holy crap! Don't do that!"
Melody ignored her, and plopped onto the couch beside Kaidne. She winked at Savanah. "Watch this." She whispered.
Melody leaned suggestively onto Kaidne, wrapping her arms around the blonde. She smiled intimately, eyelids drooping.
Rudi snarled, and sprung up. He flung his arm out-which actually looked like it hurt, he did it so fast, and with so much intensity-and pointed at Melody, his finger an inch away from her face. He snarled at Kaidne, looking wild. "MINE." He turned his glare onto Melody. "MINE."
Melody sat up. "Okay Rudi. Yours."
The werewolf promptly grinned happily, and sat down, his bloodshot eyes wide.
Savanah leaned away from Rudi, actually afraid. Carter stared at him, looking unsure if he wanted to be afraid, or amused.
Dimitri wisked past Rudi, patted Carter on the head, making him grin, and gracefully sat onto a chair. Savanah gave him a tiny wave. Dimitri's lips curved up the slightest, his only response. God he confused her.
Savanah looked around. "Now where's my Mama?"
"Right here, baby girl." Mary-Lynnett responded. Savanah turned her head, and saw her mother leaning against the wall, looking tired and thin, but her bright smile, full of sunshine and happier times was still on her face. "Sugar pie's, would any of you know where Jorden or Micheal is? I think I'll get settled into my room." She smiled at all of them.
Savanah stood up, concerned. "Are you feeling okay Mama? You don't hurt anywhere?"
Mama shook her head. "Now, now Savy girl, I'm perfectly fine. You know I never liked going on planes. It took a lot out of this old woman."
Savanah narrowed her eyes at her mother. She hated it when she called herself 'old'. Mama would never get old. Never. But she let the comment pass for now, and tilted her head back. "Hey Jorden! Micheal! Williem!" She called.

Savanah smiled at Williem. "Hey, Mama said that she wanted to get settled in?" it sounded like a question. She hopped over the couch to stand beside her mom, ready to help.
Carter stood up, his little body about the length of Adrian's torso, so he burried his hands in the older man's hair, trying to see his adopted mother. Savanah saw his reaction, his vonrability at the moment. She smiled at her mother, and slid back onto the couch.
"I'm not going anywhere, babe." She assured him.
Carter smiled, comforted, and settled back down into Adrian's side. He stared down at Julia in awe. "Daddy? Are you sure she's not gonna shift?" He said skeptically.
Savanah chuckled, moving her attention back to the others in the room. "Yo, Rudi!"
He looked up, shoulder twitching.
"I think I might have seen that table move towards you. I think it might be after you." She said slyly, like it was secretive.
Rudi's head snapped towards the table. He squealed, and scrambled away, landing half on Kaidne's lap, half on Savanah's. He wimpered, hiding his red eyes in Savanah's thigh.
She rolled her eyes, and patted his head.
Teyson and Coal walked into the room, smiling at Mama, and moved into the main room.
Coal glanced at Savanah and Adrian, but made a point of sitting by Melody, a sign of forced peace. Savanah sighed. Stupid boy. Why he was the only one making tension was beyond her. Teyson, on the other hand, settled himself on the ground across the coffee table, watching Rudi curiously.
Savanah grinned. "All we need is Jorden and Micheal, and the gang would be all here."
"What about that guy, Johnathin?" Teyson grinned.
"He doesn't live here. He's not in the gang. And besides, he's human. Only a select few humans get to be in our wolf gang. Williem take's care of us babies, so he's in. Mama's in, because she take's care of us too. Julia is Adrian's kid, and my adopted step kid, so she's in, and yeah." She said seriously.
Teyson chuckled. "Okay...let me see here...basically, all you have to do to be in the gang is to live here?"
Savanah looked offended. "You're tarnishing our elite group, Teyson! But, yeah, that's basically it. It sounds cooler, the way I put it, though..." She pouted.
He just laughed.
