And someone believed that you could stop a bullet with a katana?
That sounds about as illogical as that "If you stick your finger in the barrel of a shotgun you'll cause it to backfire, and be unharmed".
Which I actually saw on Mythbusters.

waste of a good sword but one of thoes bullets looked like it split down the center, most loke like the bullets shattered that hit the blade and each one chiped the sword down and the final one hit and snaped the blade apart.
you whont stop the bullet but you defect or break or like that one bullet you will cut it but your going to do alot of damage to the sword. also that was a heavy mounted machine gun not a standard assault rifle type, thoe sbullets were ripping the cement wall behind it apart.

Yeah. But that was the point. I mean, people put the Katana up on a pedestal. They believe it'd cut through a damned tank, parry shotgun blasts, etc, etc, etc...

It's a bit tragic, I'll admit. Especially seeing the scene before that... with the 9mm vs the Katana. In that one, the owner shows how reverent and proud he is of the blade. (it's in the related movies sidebar if you wanna watch it). But at least it gets the point across. sweatdrop

id say that blade did not look like one yah buy at a sword shop for $50, I hope they searched out a sword smith and payed him to reforge that sword.

Ah, Leen beat me to it. Yup, you don't go and reforge a katana. *Remembers back in his weeaboo days of RP, reforging katana this way and that.* xp
Thanks to that video, I'm inspired to create a new character whose abilities are all based on youtube. And then I'll include a link to a corresponding youtube video in every RP post I make with him or her.
