Rakuna shook his head. "Why wouldn't I? Austin is interesting. And he isn't weak, at least, not to me. He's strong when he needs to be. He knows how to face something fearsome and get through it. As for being defenseless, that may be so, and yet at the same time, it's not. As long as he has me, he's not. And I won't ever let him be." He looked at Akihito, his eyes giving off a wolf glow.

Akihito just glared, then walked off, leaving the house and slamming the dooor. austin hugged Rakuna tightly, trying not to cry.

Rakuna rubbed Austin's back. "It'll be okay. Don't worry about him. He just needssome time to cool down. Still, if us being here was gonna bug him so much he shouldn't have let us! So it's really his own fault. Gawd, my family is so dysfunctional..."

Rakuna smiled. "Good. As long as we still love each other, everything will be fine." Then his stomach grumbled loudly. "Ugh. I'm hungry. Well, better change to a form where I can move around without hurting myself too much."
Akihito had stormed off to the park. Since it was still early, few people were there. That idiot! How can he treat that hume like he's the center of the universe and treat me like I'm nothing! It infuriates me!!! He jumped as he felt a twinge of pain in his hands. Holding them up to his face, he saw half-circle cuts in his palms from his claws. He sighed heavily and slumped against a tree. Who am I kidding? He never looked my way, not once. I'm his cousin, his co-worker, and his friend. I should be happy to have those things and yet...and yet... He stopped as a shadow was suddenly cast over him. "Huh?"

Austin nodded and went into the kitchen. He started to dish up food for him and Rakuna. He came back out into the living room and gave Rakuna his plate.

When Austin came back, Rakuna had transformed into a regular wolf. The bandages were refitted on his body accordingly. He stretched on the floor and looked up as Austin brought in his plate.

Austin set it down for Rakuna and started to eat himself.

"Thanks." He growled and started to eat. Even as a wolf, he had no problem eating. When he was done, he jumped back up onto the couch and laid his head in Austin's lap. "The full moon is in three days. My wounds will be gone by tonight."

Rakuna's tail swiched back an forth to show he was pleased as well.

Rakuna lifted his head and licked Austin's nose in response. He then gave a wolfish grin.
