"Conf- what?" Earendil laughed. "All right, that explains a lot. I think perhaps that once we get going tomorrow and leave the Rovers behind, Lin and I should have a talk."

He kept his voice down, not wanting anyone to overhear their conversation, and began to rub Senka's belly.

"Things are very different here than in your world," he murmured softly, "and I am afraid that we have kept Lin quite sheltered thus far." He sighed. "I don't know if I feel like a father or a brother or what ... but I don't feel that I should go to sleep until she and Levi are also in bed."

He yawned.

Earendil shook his head and tapped Senka ever so lightly on the nose. "Clearly," he murmured, "your world is quite different from ours. I will not go to sleep until they have parted for the night. And if you would like to be helpful, you could ever so innocently remind Lin that we will be riding out early tomorrow, and that she may want a good night's rest before then."

He looked at her pointedly, his fingertip resting on her nose.

Earendil watched as Senka went to get Lin, his face impassive.

Levi smiled at Senka. "I suppose it is time for us te get some rest," he murmured, standing up and holding one hand down to Lin to help her to her feet as well. "There never seems te be enough time te say or do everything that needs saying or doing ..."

Levi was confused for a moment by Senka's strange behaviour, but he reasoned that she probably just wanted Lin's attention, which he supposed made sense. he had after all been talking to Lin almost exclusively since the two groups had met up.

"Good night, Lin," he smiled warmly at her; and with a slight bow, he headed off toward his trailer to sleep.

Earendil meant to fall asleep as soon as Lin was curled up in her bedding, but he found himself unable, and when morning came he still hadn't fallen asleep.

Kaito woke early. He yawned and stretched out his entire body, wings included, then got up and moved to the river to wash up a bit and get a drink.

Kaito was washing at the river, Earendil was still laying atop his blanket, staring up at the sky, and Tinuviel and Aranel were just in the process of waking up. Regan was still fast asleep, curled up between her parents.

The rovers were up and about, preparing their breakfast before they would move out.

Levi hopped out of his wagon, energetic and ready for the new day.

Earendil flinched unintentionally as Lin's shadow fell over his face, and he looked up at her, his eyes slightly droopy. "Good morning, Lin," he smiled faintly. "Did you have a good sleep?"

He cricked his neck and sat up, smiling at Lin as though everything were all right. He wouldn't say anything - not now, at least. Though if Levi made any more moves on her, he would indeed step in and say something.
