Selce nodded and explained why Ronus was here as an ambassador. "In short, the dwarves are trying to find a way to end the bloodshed." She told Erron and scractched Melkor behind his eye. "Are you all ready, by the time we get to the Archmage's tower Alanna should be back." She said remembering Ronus had told her he had a meeting with Beremond and Alanna likely wouldn't miss such an important meeting.

"Well I guess I'm in" Erron said, as he finished his soup. He didn't have much to do aside from wandering around the town and taking in the sights, and any way he looked at it all three of the presently accounted for "ex-prisoners" might be needed.

"I certainly think we should all go. Though only a few have seen this Serak person, all of us witnessed the destruction of Haven's Outpost. Besides, by virtue of the fact that we are traveling together, we may all end up facing Serak at some point. The more information we all have, the better." Tjaden said. "Count me in,"

Just as Tjaden was beginning his statement, the dwarven priest, Ronus meandered through the tavern doors and rejoined the group as the orc gave his short acknowledgment of action.
"Looks like I'm rollin' with ye for a while more, crew. Alanna's back in her tower an' the meeting with the council is over."

Laren pondered the group's tale, she did not voice her thoughts but mearly nodded in agreement with the Orc Knight when he proclaimed his intent to stay and assist. When Ronus came in and said Alanna was back in her tower Laren finnaly spoke up, "Well lets get going then. Our missing Druid knows of our buisness and can easily meet up with us at a later at the tower."

Selce smiled as each person agreed to go. "Very well, shall we get going?" She stood and stepped outside the door. Not turning to see if anyone was following her she hurried off toward the Spire in the Mage's Quarters. As she reached the doors and then continued on inside, she stepped onto the circle.

Kal shrugged as he finished his breakfast and spun his seat around to face the group. "I'm in," he stated clearly. He was ready to move. New place meant new things to see. He was curious enough to find out what this was all about and determined stick with these people.

Tjaden trudged along with his comrades, trailing behind the group with sharp eyes on his surroundings. As they made their way to the Mage District, the spire began to dominate the city, towering over the nearby buildings. Its architecture drew the eye, being both pleasant and awe-inspiring to behold, but its paradoxical exterior was a pale reflection of the wondrous interior through which the companions passed on their way to their meeting. Of course, little else was to be expected of a powerful magic-oriented association.
Tjaden continued to follow in silence, making sure to stick close to the group so as not to get lost.

Selce turned to look at her companions. "Please keep all arms, legs, and everything else inside the teleportation circle or you will lose it." She said as they all came to stand on it. She double checked to make sure everyone was ready and then grinned. "Laz Zand." The feeling of nauesousness and falling common with teleportation appeared but soon passed. "Now if you all will please vacate the circle, the lovely Archmage Alanna is here to answer our questions." Selce introduced everyone to the Archmage and then quieted waiting for the sudden flow of questions like a dam being destroyed by a sudden downpour of rain.

"Ah, Selce, I'm glad you and your companions have come. I know that you are here both for questions and answers. I have spoken with Beremond and he has informed me of your journey from Tradewind to Haven. What I am unclear of is how those of you who were supposedly imprisoned by this mad mage escaped. I'd like to hear your story."
You recount your tale to the Archmage as she listens intently to every word. She raises a brow as you finish, then closing her eyes she sighed.
"So... This Serak was experimenting on you for self proclaimed reasons of the advancement of his own status. Serak is not a name I had heard in quite some time, and one that I had to do some research when it was mentioned to me earlier. There has only been one other... *individual* with that name in the written history of the world. I sincerely hope that this is not the same figure that you have encountered... for even I do not know what that would foretell."
The Archmage moved her wrist in a flicking motion and a small dusty tome moved from the shelf through the air and settled calmly in her hands, opening to the exact passage she was looking for.
"'...And so, Serak the Destroyer was banished from the realm of Atur, as Nerimae, the Grandmistress of the arcane order sealed his essence away in the aether.' Unfortunately, this is the only record I have of the name. Nothing else has been revealed that shows any more of who he was or what his role was with the War of the Dragon. I know that this is what the passage is referring to however, due to the Grandmistress' death following the event, such a date is marked highly amongst the Fate Tower's most revered points in time..."

Kal went through the teleportation process, having been on the circle. He felt the spiralling cycle downwards and upon solid land he closed his eyes and attempted to steady himself. He heard the instruction vaguely and heard the name. He stepped out of the strange circle, gladly. He shakily stepped out and rubbed his temple, letting the confusion slowly dissipate. Then after it dissappeared, he listened intently to the archmage's tale.

The Archmage paused for a moment as she reviewed the evidence before her.
"I have a request to make of you all. There is rumored to be an artifact of draconic origins located within the city. It is suspected, to our utmost dismay that it most likely resides inside the lowest level of the magically sealed tomb in the Graveyard District. The tomb is in actually not a tomb at all, in fact, it is a shrine, one dedicated to the dragon overlords of the First Age, created by their few humanoid followers. The founders of Haven attempted to destroy the shrine numerous times, however it was impervious to essentially all evocation magic and brute force. This shrine periodically unleashed undead minions from the corridors beneath the earth, thus the Fate Tower's most powerful mages, myself included, sealed off the entrance using immense magic."
She stood up and placed the tome back within the shelf by hand, this time.
"Within that shrine, numerous attempts were also made to locate this artifact, as it was used by the draconic followers to communicate with others of their ilk across the entire continent in moments. Such a powerful relic would be infinitely useful for the Fate Tower, as well as for our research in how to unravel the ancient methods and masteries of our long forgotten foes. If you accept this contract, I will reward you all greatly by allowing each of you to choose from our treasury of magical items."
She offered a concerned tone as she warned yet again, pulling out another book, which revealed an artist's rendering of the artifact.
"Be wary, the Dragon's Eye is not an item to be handled lightly, nor do I doubt that it will be unguarded, even after all these years."

It suddenly dawn on Tjaden, as the archmage spoke, that he knew the location of the tomb. It was the place outside of which he prayed the other day. "I have seen this place. Though the door stood open, I could not entire it, so powerful was the magic. But if you were powerful enough to seal it, how is it that you lacked the resources to find the artifact within its halls?" Tjaden asked.
It wasnt that he doubted the skill of the group, but he was aware that a tower of powerful mages backed by a city and its army were unable to penetrate its defences. Beremond and his colleagues would have been able to deal with any undead creatures, the soldiers able to remove physical barriers and the mages able to scry and disable any magical wards.
For the same task to be accomplished by 6 adventures would be....difficult...in Tjaden's mind, which was also part of the reason Tjaden had decided to go through with it. He certainly couldnt let another creature face the dangers of the tomb in his place due to cowardice.

The taunting of a reward of a magical item, from one of the most magical beings of this age, was all too perfect. Kal popped his fingers and bowed, for what this short statured man was worth, he was ready to take this puzzle on. If nothing else, he could sell it for the right price on the Black Market, though he mostly wanted the item for his own use. Specifically, he wanted light as air, yet tough as leather, shoes. If such a thing was possible.

Turning to the orc, the Archmage smiled.
"It is good that you are so inquisitive, it bodes well for your race, good orc. You see, it is for two reasons. Firstly, Beremond and his guard have elected to leave the tomb sealed, as they are satisfied with simply containing what resides within, with no desire to pursue whatever knowledge might be hiding within its time-worn passages. Thus, leaving whomever attempts to explore the shrine on their own, a task not wise for any individual.
Secondly, we, ourselves, are unable to delve within the tomb as we are deemed 'too important' for a lack of a better phrase, by the city. Should, I, or any of the other higher ranking wizards fall or get lost within the caverns beneath the city, the defenses would fail, the barrier would be broken, and not only would the city's outer defenses fall apart, but also whatever was still alive within the tomb would likely be released on the city."
She paused and sadly addressed them all.
"I know I am asking a great deal, however this artifact could at least grant us the insight we need in order to determine who or what is behind the wars that have been anonymously started in the name of vengeance."
