Hunter who was surprised by the man's action took a moment to react. By that time he was under the porch and out of sight. He then rolled forward, off the roof, and landed softly on the ground. He then turned around and looked at the newcomer with his head slightly tilted to one side.
Hello?

The man looked away from the ceiling of the porch with an annoyed glare. It was quickly replaced by a courteous smile as he clutched his parcel in his right hand.
"Hello there."

I don't believe I've seen you here before? Or maybe my memory playing tricks on me?
Hunter took a step forward in order to get a better look at the man.

"Must be your memory, I've been here plenty of times."
He wasn't technically lying, but he wasn't speaking truth either. His age showed. He had short grey stubble on his jaw, and dim, leathery skin on his face. He seemed friendly enough, aside from his eyes, which seemed to always be analyzing the situation, ready to attack or retaliate. Some people call his gaze the "Thousand Yard Stare".

He sighs impatiently, finally hopping down from the tree. He paces around for a bit before retracing his steps to the Academy, as if that act would spawn the same mobs.

Oh, well I'm sorry then...
Hunter said slightly disconcerted. He usually wasn't in a habit to forget people he'd met before, or at least not completely. He'd still keep a vague sense of déja vu about them. He'd now grown slightly suspicious of the individual and decided to sweep the area to check for any friends he might have. It wouldn't be good if he ended up being ambushed. And so he summoned, discretely, a breeze that swept through the entire dojo area and the first bits of the forest.
Windy tonight, eh? Would you mind giving me your name sir? It seems I forgot it.

"William."
The man replied quickly, walking to the edge of the porch to lean on the rail. He pulled a small steel flask out from under his cloak with his left hand, unscrews the top, and brings it to his lips, keeping Hunter in his peripheral.
"And you're Hunter, right?"
The man scoffed softly, chuckling. He couldn't help but laugh at the irony.

The boy shoulders his sword, ducking his head down against the breeze. "When did it become October?"

Nice to meet you William. And yes, I'm Hunter.
Very casually and without prior notice or hints Hunter vanishes from where he was standing. A clone appears behind the man making it look like teleportation, as he reappears on the roof. He masked his presence as quickly and as best he could. Then the clone spoke.
So what brings you here tonight?

"Oh, nothing much. Just stopping by on my journeys."
The man smirked, noting that the boards underfoot of Hunters clone weren't creaking like they were a moment ago. William had little chakra signature to speak of, no more than any average man, at least.
"You're staying here again?"

I see. Yes I'm residing here. I came back from a journey far too long a little while ago. What is it that you do on those journeys, if I may ask?
The clone had turned around, it was standing in the doorway and was facing the forest. Due to the interior lighting, its face was in shadow and harder to see.
Why is it that he knows all this...
((I assumed it was nighttime. I hope it's fine with the both of you))

"...Work."
William couldn't stop smirking at the irony.
"What brings you back? New management?"

He crosses the threshold of the Main Gate, drawing his sword expectantly as he does so. Not neccesarily because of the razor chick- it had been habit since his last visit.

Nostalgia...I guess...
Annoyed by the short and vague answers Hunter decided to analyze the man's reaction to a technique not many have witnessed. Hunter detached a small portion of his soul which walked off the roof and landed behind the man opposite from where the clone was. It faced him, looking exactly like the original, yet transparent.
I wonder if he'll notice it right away, and how he'll react.

"Hmm"
The man full-on smiled as he put his flask away. He waved his hand through the spirit, and looked through it to the boy, raising a curious eyebrow.
"That's a neat trick. You trying to scare me away or something, or are you just prepping a show for our guest here, Hunter?"
