Hermonie Urameshi I'm like inbetween classes here; what should I do? I'm pretty sure I could easily ace the final exam even though it's only the first day of school for our class, but I don't think I'm ready to move on to the next clas yet. Our teacher said that he hoped to be able to speak in Japanese only by the end of the semester with us so that must mean he speaks mostly in Japanese in the next class. The problem right now is I don't feel I know enough words to make it into that class. So what do y'all think I should do? I have until Thursday of next week to be able to drop the class, then I'm not even sure I can get into the next one.
And the class now is going extremely slow. We've only done greetings and two rows of hiragana in almost two hours. He said we'd only be going through four chapters in one semester! I went through the entire book in about two weeks. Changing that to the time I go to class that makes it six weeks and we have fourteen weeks for a whole semester. gonk

I personally love this book heart めっぽうう ため
A guide to reading & Writing Japanese - third Edition by Sakade, Henshall, Seeley and de Groot (Not so much the reading, and the Hiragana and Katakana sections could use work... But almost every Kanji + stroke order!)
I'd write some more in Japanese, but I haven't worked on it in so long... I can barely remember sentence structure gonk

I can't read (and understand) much of it anyway, Japanese grammar and verb conjugations are difficult. I'm not going to attempt what I'm not sure about. I have a couple of question about typing Japanese: 1. Is it always written informally on online forums and chat rooms? 2. What program could I use for typing in Japanese?

If what you are trying to say is "I can't read Japanese, there are 2 ways.
日本語を読むことができない。
or
日本語を(orが)読めない。
If you need further explanation of those, tell me.
In chatrooms and stuff, I think it depends on who you are talking to, just like it does in real life. If you are meaning to be more respectful, you would use the "~masu" and all that. If you're familiar with all the people, or just don't feel like being all respectful, informal.
2: I don't know. I'm bad at computers, sorry.
