"Ura, be nice," Lin murmured.

Ura, at times she felt was a bit too vocal compared to Shiro, but she supposed after a while watching the two that, that was the point.

"Kaito a bit of patience, come sit with us."

Ura frowned darkly, but he released Kaito's wing as he was told, more because of the look he was getting from Shiro rather than from Lin's order.

"He should think about others sometimes," he muttered, folding his arms across his chest.

Kaito shrugged as if he didn't particularly care about how Ura treated him, and grinned as he joined all of them.

"Anyone want to go outside later?" he asked, his eyes glinting hopefully. "There's a beautiful moon, and after all this food I'm dying for some exercise!"

Lin smiled a bit wearily, she understood what Ura meant, but she figured at times, like now that Kaito still had enough energy to run normal people ragged. Well... why not, maybe excerise would do them good after sitting for most of the day.

"I will," she told the neko, "What did you have in mind?"

Kaito grinned cattily.

"Climbing," he purred, tail swishing around contentedly. "What else?"

Shiro looked at his twin through narrowed eyes. "Sometimes I have to wonder how much of you really is cat," he couldn't help but state frankly. "Napping during the day, more active at night, always wanting to climb, drinking nothing but milk ... next thing I know, you're going to be chasing birds."

"More challenging than mice," Kaito agreed with a straight face. A moment later he burst into laughter and punched Shiro's shoulder playfully. "The look on your face!" he roared.

Shiro was obviously not very amused by Kaito's joke.

Lin laughed softly even though she could tell Shiro was not amused, it was surprising Ura hadn't said anything yet. She didn't know why she found Kaito easier to deal with, he was still Kaito, perhaps because he didn't pounce her anymore.

"So Kaito is a night owl," Lin murmured, "Besides, really Shiro, we've been sitting or lounging for most of the day, since active excerise would have wrecked our clothes. I'm not suprised Kaito is active now," she looked at the person in quesiton, "And if you climb I'm staying on the ground, I am not crazy enough to climb anything in a kimono."

The light in the Banquet Hall suddenly fell dim as the last of the tables was cleared away and the chairs were moved to the side, and Kaito's eyes flashed yellow in the dimness.

"Even if it's a mountain?" he asked Lin in a challenging tone, resting his chin on his hand and leaning closer to her.

As the lights dimmed the music began to play once more, and Elnara smiled at Lore and rose from her seat.

"That's our call," she murmured softly to him. "Shall we?"

"Let's," Lore replied softly as he pushed back the chair slightly getting to his feet.

He led her out to the dance floor, a bit nervous. It had been a while since he danced, even though he did get brush up lessons from Yuki and Tristan (of which that was no surprise they would know).

Lin chewed the inside of her cheek softly, reminding herself it would be night. As amusing as it was, she was not crazy. After all she had been up those steps in the past, she was certainly not crazy.

"Nice try Kaito, but it's night and those stairs are steep, and you know this stupid thing I'm wearing doesn't give way to a lot of movement," Lin grinned.

Even Shiro looked frustrated now, and Ura just about had to bit his lip to keep from reprimanding Kaito himself.

"Can't you just wait until it's light outside?" he asked his twin with a sigh. "Honestly, if you fall and break your neck, Kaa-san will never forgive any of us. If you have to go outside, just do something safe - like go for a walk or something. But don't go climbing ... and especially not the mountain."

"Spoilsport," Kaito pouted, folding his arms and sitting back in his chair. "There's nothing to do in here ... I don't know about you but I'm no dancer, and the only other thing there is to do is go to bed, but I'm not tired."

"You could always do some reading," Shiro suggested, "and I don't mean like I do. I mean you could catch up on some of your lessons, we've been falling behind since we came here."

"That's because you've been spending your time with Sir Valdemar," Kaito hiffed, sounding very much like a cat snorting at someone.

"Why don't we play tag?" Lin finally asked in exasperation.

Honestly Shiro should know his brother by now, reading was not going to get Kaito to bed any quicker! Besides she was sure Kaito could catch up quickly, he was more than met the eye.

"We can do so in the garden, I can at least run and we won't accidently get ourselves killed."

"Sounds like fun," Kaito confessed, "but we need more people ..."

A thoughtful expression crossed his face. "Maybe we could ask some of the others to join ..."

"I'm going to bed," Shiro announced, "as soon as this dance is over. So count me out."

Ura on the other hand looked quite interested. "Hide and seek tag?" he asked curiously, as if it were a suggestion.

Elnara followed Lore out to the dance floor, and as the music played, she placed one hand on his shoulder and the other on his arm. She looked into his eyes, her own shining brightly, and nodded that she was ready, waiting for him to be as well.

"That would be interesting," Lin admitted, "And with it being night it would make it a challenge..."

Otherwise it was going to be darn odd for them to be playing that at their age. She looked up at Earendil, Pen and Lothiriel hoping they would jump in. After all, she did feel sorry for Kaito, it was just the way the guy was wired.

He placed a hand on her waist and took her other hand, counting slowly in his head, he nodded once to Elnara and began. Slowly dancing with her, trying not to think about everyone watching them.

Earendil leaned forward interestedly. "It sounds like fun," he had to admit. "But if I come with you, you're going to have to explain the rules to me."

He had never played games, really, when he had been young ... lack of playmates and overabundance of lessons and training had been the order of his younger days.

"I think we're going to join the dancing," Lothiriel smiled, reaching for Pen's hand. "It's one of the few things we haven't really had a chance to do yet. You all have fun though, and we'll see you in the morning."

And she led Pen out towards the dance floor, where they joined with Lore and Elnara. They weren't the only ones either: the king and queen had also joined in, as well as Serenity and Beren, and Ruel and Luthien.

Elnara smiled up at Lore as she danced with him. She could see the anxiety in his eyes, and she knew what was causing it.

"Relax," she breathed softly, squeezing his arm gently as they spun around the dance floor together. "Pretend that there's no one else here ... that it's just the two of us ..."

And with the hand that was resting on his shoulder, she rubbed his cheek gently with her thumb: then she giggled softly and lay her head against his chest, closing her eyes gently and focusing on nothing but him.

"Good night," Kaito smiled at his cousin and her fiance as they headed off towards the dance floor. Then he grinned back at the others. "So - hide and seek tag?" he asked, his yellow eyes glowing in the darkness. "Sounds good to me!"

Of course, being able to see in the dark, he did have an advantage over the rest of them - though Ura also shared that advantage, to a degree.
