Josh withdrew deeper into the safety of the sand barricade. That is, until his back brushed against a frightfully stern Mouse. The boy recognized her as the rambunctious girl who deftly hurdled over tables at a wink’s notice. Well, apparently she was as competitive and high strung during these games as he was. Josh smirked and replied to her nonchalantly, also making sure to keep an eye out for any opponents who would surface.
“Hmm, yeah. I’m done playing around with him. You don‘t have to worry about me.” To be honest, he had enough of the man after all. Josh’s most prominent opposition had already managed to get hit three times. Obviously, the man was a big bluff when it came to things like this. Maybe all he could do after all was deliver a head butt? Josh let out a suppressed chortle at the thought. He could see that the man was an ‘easy kill’, not worth anymore of his time or precious ammunition. Josh peered around a corner to examine Mouse’s hit. Spot on! The boy cringed when he saw the lovely femle raevan crumple into a pile of tears and anguish. Poor thing. Alas, he could help but admit that the shot was very impressive. He ducked back behind the wall and murmured at Mouse again, “Pretty good shot you have there. Remind me not to make you angry.”

Pulling the injured Frei closer to himself and more out of the open, David let out a heavily concerned sigh. It was like adopting some kind of stray, helpless kitten. He noticed Lucia's wide eyes as she glanced down at her wounds. Suddenly, the frightened aura seemed to melt away and return as a vengeful one. Smiling, he held up his gun as a model for her.
"Want payback, little one? You'll need to figure out how to use your gun first," he purred, wiggling his finger at her. "Slide one or two of your fingers here -he slid his index finger onto the trigger- and then you pull on this little trigger. Aim for your opponent first though. Don't just waste your paintballs, kay?"
David was just about to glance back over his sand dune when a blue haired girl caught his attention. She was obviously as disappointed in the outcome of their teammates as he was, so all he could respond with was a shrug.

Dorian paled slightly at the sight of Lucia. "Gentlemen, I believe it is time to fall back." He muttered to himself. Dorian ran to another 'base'. Wasn't that guy and... "Josh and Mouse I assume?" Dorian pointed to himself. "The name's Dorian, hopefully, we haven't angered the catty raevan too much." He looked back at the opposing sand dune. "I'm not one to brag but...It seems we landed on the better team no?" He gave a soft laugh. "Melons are far more delicious that cacti. Hopefully though, those cacti remain thornless."

A green paintball whizzed an inch over the girl's head as she relaxed a bit. When she heard Josh reply her face eased into a crooked grin with a mischeviously lifted eyebrow, and she responded "Good to hear." Josh sounded sensible enough about this game now that he had taken whatever anger he had out on that guy he was trading shots with. She felt like she could trust him to use the rest of his ammo wisely, and could only laugh dismissively at his next remark, which was when Dorian entered their hiding spot.
"Hey, Dorian," she casually replied to the newcomer, "I'm glad you think we're the better team, but talking fancy about us isn't going to win us any points." The hallucinogenic properties of certain cacti would have been something worth making a wisecrack about otherwise. Oh well. "Why don't you watch our backs instead?"

[[Balls 'O Paint Field]] "True it may not win points, but it may boost moral." He leaned slightly to the side, just enough to watch the cacti team. "But, I'd have to disagree with the back watching. I'm more of a direct assult kind of guy. But if it an order..." He saluted in British style. "I'll follow it to the t." Sadly, the salute had thrown him off balance, so he fell backwards into the open. "s**t!" He scrambled back to the safety of the sand walls.

Lucia nodded slightly as her keen eyes took in the man's model actions. She examined her gun:
Looking in the canister she saw six green balls. That must have been what hit her.
Looking at the trigger she nodded as she figured that was what caused one of the green balls to fly out at someone. With only six balls she would have to aim and time her shots well. It was a good thing she was patient.
However, having everyone together in the same area was not the best idea. "Thanks," was all the young raevan said as she took a deep breath and, low to the ground, she floated quickly to the next barrier, and into a nearby fort to watch for her first victim.
But how would she know which team they were on? She looked down at her wrist band and smirked.
Yuurei went over to the bar, desperate for something to get rid of the gross taste in her mouth. The pie had definitely not tasted as good on the way back up. She looked up and saw that Dr. Kyou was playing bartender. She smiled and said, "Hello, Dr. Kyou! Do you mind getting me an ice water?" She smiled at him, trying not to breathe with her mouth or speak with too much breath at him so he wouldn't smell what she tasted.

Aphismet turned to see Eiry floating over, asking advice about the game. He didn't know how it worked? Honestly, Aphismet thought it would be a problem if Eiry thought the gun was a machine... He smiled and decided to explain it as Eiry-friendly as possible.
"These are toys that shoot paint balls, like waterguns. Remember those, at the beach that one time? So the game is easy: You have to aim the toy gun at someone from the OTHER team, and shoot them! Easy as that! the more people you can hit the better. you only have six shots though- OW!"
Aphismet flinched as something stung him in the arm, and he looked at the spot, now painted green. Someone had got him! Glancing back up, Aphi spotted a man helping a girl Raevan he'd never met (one who looked rather displeased!), and Aphi's eyes narrowed playfully. He grinned.
"Do it like this, Eiry!" Aphi took aim at DAVID as best he could, and pulled the trigger, sending a small pink bullet racing towards the pair.

Josh pointed his paintball gun at Dorian accusingly when the man popped out from behind a barrier suddenly. Then he got a glimpse of melon flushed fabric adorning the newcomer’s body. So he was on the same team. The auburn haired boy tucked his gun away into the safety of his arms once more. Josh shot Dorian a welcoming smile instead of a round of paint to the face. Perhaps, he was a bit too much on edge? It wasn’t a good idea to adhere together and make too much small chat though. From what familiarity he had with this game, Josh knew that joining into one large group was a definite safety hazard. After all, the bigger the target the easier it is to hit it.
Josh gave a offhand nod acknowledging Doran’s presence. The guy had a unique way of speaking. However, Josh believed that Eiry had a more poetic nature to his speech and witty remarks. Much more pleasing to the ears. Josh peered at Mouse than to Dorian once more. “Sorry to disappoint, but it is getting a bit too crowded here. Pleasure to meet you Dorian. However, I don’t want to be a sitting duck.” The boy stooped down and swiftly crawled to a barricade beside his current one. They could still chat if needed, but he also could give their team eyes in more places from his new position.

David flashed the fleeting Lucia a charming smile, pleased to see she was now so competitive. As she floated off, David double checked his canister once more, though he knew how many shots he had left. Three. Such a pitiful number. He really really should have just head butted the kid after the event instead of wasting balls on him.
"After this, I'm gonna hate the number three," he hissed, readjusting his position as he prepared for another attack. Raising his gun hesitantly, hoping to avoid another barrage of pink bullets, David released a heavy sigh before bolting out into the field again, seeking refuge behind a sand dolphin. Ah! He had been shot at again!! Rolling behind the grainy statue, David's pained eyes looked down at his stomach. First the neck, fingers, side, and now it was the stomach. What had he done to deserve THIS many shots?!
Peeking from behind one of the dolphin's fins, David spotted them. A minty green Frei and the shooter.. Carefully adjusting himself, David prayed his hands would stop shaking as he took aim at Eiry.

Aphismet grinned as the guy he'd shot peeked over a sand dune, aiming at him and Eiry. "He's gonna get us! DUCK, EIRY!" Following his own advice, laughing mirthfully, Aphismet threw himself onto the sand in a duck-and-roll maneuver, finishing with his back flat against one of the sand obstacles. A quick glance over the side yielded another target, with a barely visible flash of green- a blue-haired woman.
Cackling in amusement (this was a lot of fun!), Aphismet ran out from his hiding spot and took aim, shooting at ROCHAN. The second of his pink bullets flew out, heading for the target.
Rivener blinked as a purple-haired woman spoke to him. She was familiar- Ah! This was the woman who came to their house to train with Aphi! It was hard to recognize her dressed this way, although her barely-amused smirk was quite characteristic. But maybe she could help!
"How do I fix this?!" Rivener exclaimed, proffering the punctured yellow-and-white-polkadot inner tube, looking worried. The air was still slowly leaking from it with a soft hissing sound. "I popped it with my ring, it was an accident! Can you fix it?!" He didn't care what the previous questions might have been- he had to fix this before its owner came back!

Lucia grimaced as the man who had shown her how to use her gun got hit . . . again. And missed . . . again. Looking down at her gun she wondered if he had shown her how to use it right.
She shrugged, figuring she would find out when the time came. She lay facedown on the sand, her ears as low as possible as she tried to become a part of the sand that surrounded her. Her eyes narrowed as she scanned her visual scope looking for a target.

“Uh…” Rivener had taken Ebony by surprise with his flailing around of the yellow and white inner tube and just sounding down right distraught. Plus, it wasn’t often that others asked her for help. Somehow, despite the awful mood she’d been in earlier, the British woman’s face softened at the scorpion. Gently patting his hand and flashing him a kind smile, “Don’t you worry, Mate. We’ll have this fixed up in no time. I remember seeing a first aid kit at the bar.” Ebony quickly headed towards the bar then, “We can use the tape in there to give that there tube a good ole patch job.”

Aphismet snapped his fingers as his shot missed its target. People were moving around, Aphismet was afraid of being hit... It was pumping him full of adrenaline, and he grinned with the fun of it! His arm was still a little stinging from being hit with that first paintball, but he pushed it aside, looking for another target...
Ah, there was that pretty Raevan girl, hiding in the sand. She was part of the other team... Shrugging, hoping she would follow the rules about "not using powers", Aphismet aimed his gun at LUCIA and took the shot. A small part of his mind told him that shooting at girls was not a good idea, but it was the game, right?
Rivener blinked at Ebony. She had an answer! The Scorpion's features melted into a relieved smile and he followed her over to the bar, careful to touch the tube as little as needed, fearful of making more poke-holes. Would the blue-haired woman notice her tube was broken? Riv knew he'd have to admit what he'd done, but... if he fixed it, she shouldn't be very mad, right? She wouldn't take back her offer of lending the star-camera?
"Thanks so much! This isn't even mine... Thanks."

(( Paintball war - CACTUS TEAM!!! // Beach Bar ))
Paintball shots whirled all over the battlefield as Lazarus crouched behind a sand dune for protection. He had only managed to put on his goggles because his horns were always in the way of hair accessories. Holding up his gun ala gunmen style he'd seen in movies, he suddenly felt very cool and re-energized. I'm ready to kick some a**!! he thought as he smirked playfully at himself.
Peeking over the sand dune cautiously, he looked for a potential victim for his first shot. Suddenly, lo and behold Aphismet ran out of his hiding place and was in a wide open area as he shot at someone from his team. Taking aim at the now vulnerable APHISMET, he took his first shot!
Watching the paintball war had proven to be much more entertaining than watching the pie eating contest. Because the latter was just an ugly mess towards the end of the event. Though the paintball might be messy towards the end too, but it's less... disgusting.
"Nice to see you Miss Yuurei!" Kyou greeted as he remembered seeing Yuurei's photo from his files, though he never really met her in person before. Feeling a slight tinge of jealousy of Yuurei's healthy tanned skin, he poured her a glass of water and popped some ice cubes into it. He was oblivious to her vomit breath. "Here you go! Enjoy the drink!"

+Sephiros Immortal+ ((Sand n' Stuff))
Bumped into, Wit stumbled back suddenly, jolted from his reverie, toes digging into the sand as he steadied himself gracefully. Cocking head at this strange newling that had crossed his path, Wit smiled faintly, "Is to be being fine." He assured, able to tell that the other was a mite shaken for some reason or another.
A tongue slipped out for a moment to wet lips, and green eyes glimmered with soft amusement. It was hard to offend Wit, for the fellow really wasn't completely sound in the head...intelligent, yes, that couldn't be denied, but his mannerisms were not remotely resembling of what someone would deem 'the norm'. "What were youses running so very quickly away from? Hmmm?" Leaning closer, he blinked slowly, catlike, the lazily interested look on his face a possibly intimidating thing to the shy and timid.
This one was different from the others, and he interested him. Not as much as the half-creatures, but those could be investigated later as well. Very lovely little party they had going here too... (( Sand n Stuff)) Shadow blinked up at the taller man for a moment or two, attention caught by that odd manner of speaking. How interesting... obviously, this one wasn't one of the Raevens, as he had legs. And feet. And so on. But at the same time, he was different, which was ... nice, in a way. Wasn't very often that Shadow saw too many people out of the norm.
Bright eyes darted to the tongue when the other licked his lips and he tilted head just a bit, deciding rather quickly that he liked this man. He was being friendly, for one thing - something that Rivener really ... hadn't been. He'd been polite yes, but that was about it.
Smiling faintly in apology, Shadow ducked his head a bit - not really put off by the other's attitude. It was threatening, just ... focused, maybe. "Well ... I think I kinda manage to piss off one of those Raeven things over there," he admitted, with a bit of a sheepish look. Not that he was about to say exactly what he'd done to manage that. Ooh no, no telling how this one might react if he said he had stolen something, even if only as a joke.
