Gwen stepped forward. "Sorry my girl. You poor girl. Your foal should be fine. You just need to rest."she said softly spread some salve on the sore spot to ease the pain a bit.

Konoha flared her nostrils, watching Gwen. She was releived that the foal should be fine. She nuzzled Path happily, "Path did you hear what she said? Do you think she's right?" She yawned, suddenly exaushted.
Colonel came up behind Gwen. "Did you just say she's pregnant?" Suddenly a boom of thunder rumbled in the distance. For the last few days they had been getting random signs of thunder, but nothing that even threatened a storm. Another cluster of thunder rang out and several of the men looked up to the sky, including Colonel. "Well I beleive we might get some rain out of this one."

Amy had looked up at the sky also. She smiled happily and clapped her hands softly against each other. "Finaly rain!" Amy said as she felt a big fat drop plop onto her shoulder, followed by 4 more other rain drops.

Kalypso bared his teeth and pinned back his ears as Johnson touched him but did not pull away. When he began to put the salve on though, he spooked at the stinging it brought and side-stepped a few steps away, looking worried. He raised his head to the sky and stared at the thunder clouds. He sighed and took in a deep breath, the smell on rain was in the air and it refreshed him. He looked back down at Johnons and walked to him again, allowing him to put the salve on.

Johnson knew better than to move after Kalypso, so he let the stallion come back. He finished putting the salve on the wound, as it started to sprinkle. "There you go boy. That wasn't bad at all." He gave the stallion a gentle pat and then stopped touching him, but Johnson didn't walk away. He wanted to see if the stallion would tolerate him longer.

"I trust what Gwen says. She is smart when it comes to healing."Path nickered happy that his 'n Konoha's foal was gonna be alright.
"Yes, but I think she is afraid we'll take it away."Gwen said then glanced up as the rain began to fall. "I told you to have hope didn't I?"she said with a grin
Wildfire glanced at the sky. "Finally! It hasn't rained in months."she snorted.

"I would never take a foal away from it's mother." Colonel streched out his arms, lightly brushing Gwen's arm. "That you did and it seems that you were right." The rain quickly got heavier as a wind picked up and lighting flashed. "We're going to get quite a storm."
Konoha nuzzled Path and looked up to the sky. "I hope she's right." The rain had cooled off the land and the rain itself was ice cold. She stood in the rain, even though there was one straggely tree to hide under. It cooled her off and washed her coat clean.

"Aren't I always?"Gwen said teasingly. She was getting soaked, but she did not really mind. She grinned at Colonel. She knew they probably needed to get inside soon or they would all get sick.
Wildfire pranced tossing her mane. She loved the feel of the rain against her skin/fur.
Path rested his head on Konoha's back. "I love the rain."he murmured softly.

"Hmm I don't know about that." Colonel teased her back. Most of the men were standing on pourches, extending their arms to catch the rain. He laughed, "We should head inside before we get sick. We're going to be soaked before we reach the houses."
Konoha nickered, already her mane was wet and sticking to her neck. "I love you Path." She whispered to him, enjoying the rain.

"You are probably right."Gwen said laughing. She grabbed his hand and pulled him towards the gate. After closing it behind them she ran with him to his porch.
"I love you, too, Konoha"Path murmured lovingly.

Kalypso's shoulder was already feeling better, and Johnson had made the bleeding stop. He didn't know if he trusted him enough to wipe his muzzle clean, it was still covered with blood. He looked up, then rain was starting to fall pretty heavily. He snorted and turned, bolting around in the rain once, then coming to a halt in front of Johnson and Rusher again. Kalypso was enjoying the rain. He held his head high and pawed at the ground, now getting soaked with water. The blood on his muzzle was partially already dried, and it wasn't really coming off in the rain.

Colonel laughed and ran by her side. A few of the men looked curiously at them but Colonel paid little attention to that. He wrapped a wet arm around her waist. "You are something else."
She nuzzled him and swished her tail. She winced as a quick sharp pain shot through her side, but not from the injury. "Path did you feel that? The baby kicked!" She whinnined happily.
Johnson watched Kalypso and chuckled. Rusher nickered greatfully and shook his mane. "I like the rain too boy." He took a rag out of his pocket looking to wipe the dry blood from the stallion's nose. "Here boy let me get that." He extended his hand and the rag but didn't touch Kalypso.

Kalypso snorted and his ears began to flicker around again. He didn't like the rag near his face, but on the flipside, it would be very nice to have the awful stench away from his nostrils. Once again, he caved and allowed Johnson to wipe his face. He glanced up at Rusher.

Johnson very carefully wiped away the blood. "I know you don't like it very much, but it's got to be better than smelling blood all day."
Rusher trotted up behind Johnson and nickered to Kalypso. "See young one, Johnson won't hurt you. He only wants your trust and will work to gain it. He's not going to force anything on you." Rusher backed a little and shook, spraying Johnson with water. Then he bumped the man with his nose.
Johnson laughed at Rusher's antics. "Now Rusher that wasn't very nice, you silly boy." All the same he patted Rusher's neck, still laughing.

Kalypso stood still, allowing Johnson to wipe his muzzle clean. 'You bet it does..' He thought to himself. He looked up at Rusher. "I guess so. Rusher, I want to apologize again for the other day...I got overwhelmed and acted on instinct." He said, feeling ashamed. He watched as Rusher played with Johnson, one ear pricked forward, the other in a relaxed position.
