Emerwyn willed herself not to cry. To cry for this man, this tragic man. And how the man she had fallen in love with wasn't even who he originally was. Of course, the Emerwyn that Ian fell in love with was not by any means Jerrick's Emerwyn. But, what was she to do to help this broken man? A man who she inwardly rejected, who she willed herself so hard not to love, who represented her ulitmate betrayal, that she still struggled not to let happen.
Emerwyn slowly removed the watch once more from Ian's wrist, and placed it in his hand, closing it over the watch with both of hers. Still holding his hands, not coughing, she whispered, "I will wait for that day."

Ian looked into her eyes sadly and held the watch. He wouldn't wear it right now, but he would have it. Taking a spare vine thread he had he tied the watch to his spear.
"Waiting is always the hardest part Branwen." Ian wanted to hug her but knew he couldn't do that right now. "I-I need to think for a bit. There are so many things." He looked at his watch again, "and so much time."

Emerwyn nodded slowly, and even more slowly removed her hands from his.... so slowly. She didn't want to let go.
She stood up, and with a sick feeling in her stomach, noticed she left some of her blood on his hand from hers. The cuts were nowhere near healed.
She stared a brief moment, first at his hands, then his face, his eyes.
"Time for wounds to heal."
And she left slowly, wondering whether she truly hoped that Ian would return.

~New RP~
It turned out that Emerwyn needed time, too.
She hadn't gotten anywhere. Not physically, or mentally. She was nowhere near escaping the jungle. And she was not any clearer on how she felt. About Ian, about Jerrick... About herself.
She was, however, resigned for the moment. Resigned to her temporary fate, to wander in this evil place. She walked, oh so slowly. So slowly that she could still hear the river run behind her. And she knew that Ian was still close by, even though she had closed her senses to his alluring, consuming scent.
Emerwyn tried to distract herself now from her thoughts. They were too much to take. She felt light-headed. She hadn't been eating enough, she'd barely slept at all since the night of the explosion. And she had completely lost track of time.
Time...
Time was not her friend. It could not possibly be an indiffernet force that affected us all equally. Time was cruel to her, a constant reminder of what she wasted as a youth, and now could not save.
Time stood out as a symbol. It glared at her physically. Through the only people she cared about on this God-forsaken spit of land. Silver watches.
Silver watches.
Funny, the times when you find inspiration.

How long had Ian spent thinking? Was it hours? Days? Just a few minutes?
Ian moved from where he was sitting on the bank of the river and grunted as his muscles groaned in acute distress. Evidently he hadn't moved in a bit.
He tore a leaf of of a bush and chewed it slowly as he stood up and brushed the dirt from his leafy shorts.
His spear lay on the ground beside him and he grabbed it hearing the soundo f his watch banging against the wood. He hobbles slowly to the river and leaned his head down for a drink barely recognizing the person he saw in the water.
His hair clung to his head in climps and his eyes were starting to sink into his skull. His eyes, they were wary, watchful, but seemed to have lost the green glow that seemed to always be there.
Whathe could not see was his ribs that stood out on his torso, he wasn't dangerously thin, but he could get that way soon.
Sighing he quenched his thirst and headed downstream always keeping the river beside him.

"Silver glows my eyes now Silver glows my world. The hands are turning slowly As he waits, arms unfurled.
With each step I watch them With each step they grow Faster round and round me But where now shall I go?
Will I find the answer In all these twisting paths? Will I find the answer At last?
Silver watches turning Lighting up my world. They will lead me onward Through th'world that 'round me swirls.
Which one shall I follow? Which one shall I lead? And how can we lean on those Who eqaully bleed?"
Emerwyn finally found a voice in the trees. It was one large tree, a dying tree. She curled up beside it, singing.

Ian heard the song as he walked long the river and soon enough he came to Emerwyn sitting by a tree.
The tree was nearly dead, and large having seen many winters, many warm winters.
Ian wasn't used to winter being this warm and he was not looking forward to what a summer on the island would be like.
"Branwen?" he questioned trodding closer to the tree. He hadn't been able to decipher the words of the song but he knew it was from her heart.

Julian picked his way through the jungle, bright green eyes darting to and fro.
"Where is she...where is she...?"
He was desperate now...especially now that he realized...how he felt. He had to tell her. He had to - now or never. While Cheshire was quiet.....

Emerwyn had just finished her song when she heard Ian calling her 'name.'
She looked up at him. At his watch gleaming on his spear.
"Hello." She felt attached to the tree, so she did not move from it.

Ian moved closer and knelt down beside her resting his spear on the ground.
"Bra-," he began then tried again."Emerwyn." Ian/Cernunnos took her hand in his own. "I must apologize for what happened the last time we spoke. I was not myself, nor am I myself yet still. But-" he hesitated for a long moment. "But yet, I thought about thee during that time. Not Branwen, but Emerwyn! And I came to see why Ian, er, I love thee so much. Please, consent to stay with me, I feel that my true identity can be found with thee by my side."

About then, there was a soft snapping sound nearby.
Julian's thin, battered body stumbled out from behind a tree, a broken branch dangling limply in his fingers. He didn't say a word - only stared....
...Looking quite as if he had just been slapped across the face.
...Emerwyn...and...was that...Ian?
A few numb tears started to trace the filthy trails upon his cheeks once more.

This wasn't a good time for this. "Ian, I-"
The snap.
He was back!!!
Emerwyn jumped. She turned around quickly. Her heart was pounding in her throat, as she expected to see her living and waking tormenter.
But it was only Julian.
Not only Julian. Julian was... crying?
Her hand still in Ian's, Emerwyn remained glued to the tree. The hand trembled. She felt as though something had happened, and it was, as usual,
all her fault.
"Julian?"

Ian stared dumbly at Julian.
This was awkward.
Especially since he didn't remember who Julian was. "Er, hello." he noticed the tears and let go of Emerwyn's hand. Just in case he lifted his spear from the ground, trying not to look threatening, but wary of Julian. He looked harmless, but those claws could do some damage.

Julian looked at Emerwyn. Then Ian again. Then back to Emerwyn.
He took a step back, then a sudden step forward, as if he was shoved. He glanced behind him slowly...watching the jungle melt and crumble around him.
...No. Not jungle. Tulgey...Wood. Tulgey Wood.
He looked back at Emer, confusion twisting his expression. He opened his mouth, no sound coming out....
But flicked his gaze pointedly to Ian, asking her with his eyes.
The hand holding the branch let go, slowly sliding up to rest on the pocketwatch, feeling its ticking between his fingers. His other hand met it, fingers on the winding mechanism.

Emerwyn was confused. She did not understand the question. But something wasn't right. Was Julian frightened of Ian?
She gave a look to Ian and stood up, breaking away from her tree.
Slowly, she walked over to Julian. "Julian, are you alright?" He was reaching for his pocketwatch. "Do you, need help?"
Silver watches...
