Jesse, that's the entire point of science though. We know that we don't know everything (it's probably the only thing one can know for 100% sure, getting all meta up in this s**t). The whole idea of science and discovery is that just because we don't know stuff doesn't mean we shouldn't try to. That's why theories (which are NOT just guesses like most people seem to think--we don't guess at gravity) are constantly being revised and adapted to fit new findings, and why science is based on the assumption that we are wrong. (The scientific method is designed to prove a hypothesis wrong, not to prove it right. When conducting a successful experiment, you are only proving that, in this one aspect of this one situation, you're not completely wrong, but it doesn't mean you're right.) So what if we're wrong? That's irrelevant. You seem to want to give up things like science just because it's impossible for humans to know everything, which I think is horrible to say. s**t, we need something to do with our lives. Why not try to know stuff? It's productive, it's interesting, and knowing things rarely hurts anyone. You write and make beer, artists paint, cats nap, and brutha, I hurt people and I waste my time on the internet. If you don't want to look at science as a worthwhile endeavor, then look at it as a way to pass the time, which seems to be more acceptable to you (though I might be wrong, your philosophies are incomprehensible to my meager mind).

Scientists don't claim to know everything. If they thought they knew everything then they wouldn't be scientists, they would be fishermen or racecar drivers, because obviously if they thought they knew everything there is to know then they wouldn't still be looking.
Science seeks to gain an understanding of things. Science is the constant seeking of knowledge. Faith in science is faith in progress and in learning.
What you're talking about isn't faith or science, it's just the opposite. It is ignorance. Someone saying that science has all the answers is obviously an imbecile, because science doesn't seek to give answers, it seeks to gain them. If you hear someone say this, slap them in the face and walk away. Burn them with a lit cigarette if there's one available.

Oh boy, a lot of words were put into my mouth that I sure didnt say. Its okay thougj, Im notorius for putting things In peoples mouths.
The fact is. The argumebt is not settled, and instead of taking it head on, it burst into several directions and ignored finishing the real argument.
The argument was simple. I said, Geniuses can be wrong. People put too much faith in theory.
Sure I was more bitchy about it. But that is the argument.
Instead people talk about how I hate science and theory of what science is, and how I think scientists think they know everything.
I have to say guys, it hurts that you think that I am so stupid. And your sarcasm is rather rude emily.
First off, when I do make statements along the.lines that we dont know anything. It is not saying that ot.should change anything in this life. As Charles Manson said "now is the only thing thats real" and as the laws are now, we must abide.
In essence, my statements dont matter. This is why I am the fool. You cant argue against them. Just like you cant really sucessfully argue Gainst a higher power.
But if you are going to drag me down to the earth level. Thenall I cansay is you dont know me.
I actually love science. It scarez me because we tend to ******** with things that could kill us all( wormholez, big bang recreation, nanomachines) but I love it. I even have greatly considered becoming a physixist.
Philozophy is the precursor to science anyway. And I think it.is wonderful.
When I ramble, it is.because I honestly am scared since I have faith in nothing. And just want someone to argye soms sense into me. Hasnt happenex yet.

I phrased stuff badly. ;_; I knew I probably put words in your mouth, I pointed out that I was possibly wrong at the end. The added comment about my understanding (or lack thereof) of your philosophies wasn't supposed to be sarcastic, nor was it even a snarky comment aimed at you. Now I realize what I actually seemed to say, and it was nothing like what I intended. When I said "your philosophies are incomprehensible to my meager mind," I meant that my particular way of thinking isn't compatible with philosophy. I don't understand most philosophy stuff, and yours is particularly difficult for me to wrap my mind around. I meant to say something along the lines of "I might be wrong about your views because I am not easily able to understand your philosophies." But I didn't say that. I said something ambiguous that was easily construed as mean, and I am so, so very sorry.

Don't apologize Emily, even if you were being mean i wouldn't be offended haha.
My philosophical ideas are not really easy for anyone to understand. But it doesn't matter, because like i said, they don't matter. At least not in this life.
I'm sorry if anyone took that last post as me being mad or offended or anything.
As I said, i don't really feel strongly about my beliefs since i don't really have any. I don't believe in nothing. And i have some ideas about how to live based on what we know as reality for now. But I am full of crock s**t most the time.
When i call my self an idiot and fool, i am not kidding haha. I really don't know anything. I have some ideas to be sure, but I cant prove them, there is always something that can disprove them.
Anyways, don't mind me, i am going to watch A Clockwork Orange and drink Obsidian Stout.
