I think it all depends on the context. According to the rules and guidelines Gaia has a "very liberal policy regarding language", which is why in setting preferences you can set how strongly you want language to be filtered. So, use of swear words conversationally isn't necessarily a bad thing on Gaia. However, if they are being overly vulgar, explicit, or offensive then something should be done about it.

If you reported it to a moderator and still have the code, you can send in a hacking report to another moderator explaining the attempt and give then your case number to show the reason why and they might be able to do something about it!
(or might tell you to strengthen your password...)
