We don't KNOW that it's possible because these findings still haven't been verified.
It's still possible that it was a mistake, so this could very well not make any difference at all.
If it IS possible, I'd say it's doubtful that they'd go straight into sending humans into the past. They would start with sending some kind of data into the past. Something small. A message of some kind. Something they would be able to check and verify through records to know that this message was received in the past.
If that's so, it's possible that we've already received a message from the future and just don't know that it's from the future yet.
Or maybe they'll first decide what kind of message they want to send into the past, how, and how they would receive it, then that would make it easier for them to look for it. I guess it depends on whether they want the past to know that the future sent a message.

And I agreethat they would start with a message. Butwe are talkingall timehere. They wod start wjth a message. But someone further up in time wod surelu come bakc, even so far as to this time.
I mean we are not just thinking the first folk, but the entire infinute futurez actions, that could bring them here.

According to Steven Hawkings, we cannot go back in time because it would create a paradox. That we can only for forward in time.
A message sent back in time does seem plausible though.
That is just my [Steven Hawking's] opinion.

But all of this talk is useless right now. As Stray pointed out before, this discovery could be a mistake. They may have measured the speed incorrectly. Tons of people are already investigating it, and even the people who made the observation are highly doubting what they saw. Pics or it didn't happen.
Now, what I'm more excited about, since it's more relevant and the data more reliable, is teleportation, which we've already taken a baby step toward. Granted, it was like three subatomic particles, but it's still progress! Also they apparently are experimenting with a sort of "invisibility cloak," which also makes me happy. THIS is what science is supposed to be. Dicking around just to see if you can.

They asked steven hawkings what he thought of this may be discovery, and hd said no comment. Travelling back in time would be possible if you can go faster than speed of light. It means physics doesnt know stuff. Hawkings whould have to change his ideas.
And with the teleportation kaku says that really, they takean emptypartl;e and can throw the infk onto it. So it is actually more like cloning and could result in death.
The invisibility cloak is working so far it seems. Just hard to see when there is no light

Over all, the idea is this. All of the brilliant minds made leaps and bounds in discovering things. And yes they were smart. But it doesnt mean they know the whole truth.
We are like platos myth if the cave. Ee know what we know, but that doesbt mean it is right. There could be grander systems than we even can even imagine.einstein, hawkings, me, you, we could be wrong in fundamental levels.
Based on a long timeline, who knows?
also, tell the scientists dinking around. They could kill us all obe day.

The way I see it. Is that people put too much faith in theory. I mean yes they are great ideas. But they are still ideas. We havent been around long enough to know if the laws of the universe are forever constant.
Like pythagoras worshipped math, thinking it divine. We too worship things and put so much faith into them that we throw fits when we learn they may not be true. Einstein, Hawkings, Darwin, Dawkins. These mens are all messiahs. They are the new jesuses by the way people revere them and put their faith into them. Einstein even santed his body burned and scattered so people wouldnt worship him when he was gone.
Fact is, all of them have experienced the shits. All are human. All are prone to mistake. No matter how smart you are. You could be wrong. Your awnser could be logical, could check out with proofs. But it still could be wrong. This could just be because you are not provided with enough info. It could be aistake. But you could be wrong. Sorry. Its true. You can burm me as a witch now.

Or you can totally try and rape my argument. But history kinda backs me up on this one, ya know, geniuses being wrong about stuff. All I can really say is that I might be wrong. Because idiots like me tend to be. Still just waiting on someone who can give me faith in something rather than doubt. Im tired of doubting.

I don't worship geniuses and scientists, I merely look up to them. I completely agree that they are human and can be wrong; that they can make mistakes.
The only thing I have to say is that if we don't put at least some faith in science, knowing it has its faults [that's why its called trial and error] then everything we have learned and all of our advancements are reduced to just chance and luck, not logic.

I don't think scientists can't be wrong. I just think that, generally speaking, a scientist is considerably less wrong than you or I, so it does them dishonor sweeping their considerable accomplishments aside as if they were nothing merely to feel better about oneself.

I said nothing about sweeping aside their acomplishments. They did help us get to the current understanding. But they are still incorrect, even if by wrong it is just incomplete.
and I do think that there needs to be faith in science. I just think that too many peopld take that faith too far, I wasnt pointing fingers there.
