Glad the show has a reason for that, and it actually makes sense.
Crunchyroll is effectively my only entertainment (some YouTube as well). Recently finished the old series Scrapped Princess; 'twas very good for its time.
Yeah, Parasyte's cold open sets the tone effectively.

I've been binging on the show for hours now. I have to say, I really enjoyed the earlier episodes, but having just finished episode 12 I'm starting to wane. The dramatic shift to stoic hero in the main character is making it blander for me. Like Tokyo Ghoul almost did, but it still was interesting. Now the main guy in Parasyte is just . . . blah. I think I get where they are going for an explanation, but it is harder to enjoy his situation when he has all the emotional depth of a sippy cup. He doesn't have rage, sorrow, or happiness for more than a half-minute anymore. He is an unfeeling Terminator . . . and that is not as entertaining.
I might have to watch something fun for a palette cleanser.
On the other side, you were excited for the new Sonic game's potential? I hear many good things about it.

This emotionlessness is part of his character arc that will be resolved, but i agree it was hard to connect with his character during those episodes.
Perhaps the shonen action of "Ushio and Tora" would fulfill that fun?
Yes, very much so! It's out for consoles already, but I got it for PC where it was delayed until the end of August. Looks absolutely stunning based on the coverage thus far; very happy for Sega, and they need to let the indie devs they hired for this make another one.

Oddly enough, Youtube scratched that itch for me. The recommended section brought up Dominion Tank Police- one of my very first anime. I was flabbergasted, and to be fair it was just what I needed to laugh. The version I saw years ago was edited for TV but on Youtube it was unedited. Not major changes, but enough to really make me smile. It was a blast from my past, and I loved it.
sonic looks good enough to tempt me as well . . . I might just get it if money ever resolves itself. The downside of digital distribution is you will likely never see the mods, games, and content lower in price. Physical distribution cannot be locked away from you so easily, and eventually will depreciate in value meaning if you wait long enough you can afford it. This? This won't go down no matter how long I wait. Ugh.
I might slog through the parasyte episodes . . . not sure. As said, I am now done with episode 12, but it is becoming difficult to maintain interest.

Ah, Tank Police; I love that anime's theme song.
Games on Steam regularly go on sale. I'd expect Sonic Mania to be on sale for 25-50% off by the time of the Steam Christmas sale. Sega isn't stingy w/ sales on digital goods, and it's also a cool $20 instead of anything approaching full price.
Sorry about the struggle through Parasyte's midsection.

Ah, but there's the rub. I don't play games on my computer. Well, with the exceptions of Starcraft and Starcraft II. I am a console gamer completely, and there sales are often attached to several provisos.
I am trying to give Konosuba a go, though it is a bit slow in the beginning.
Tank Police has some songs in my head again, and I can't tell if I am happy about it or not. That, and again seeing the unedited version was a bit of a happy shock.

Ah, good point, no idea how console sales, especially ones in their digital marketplaces are (Sonic Mania is digital only).
I didn't care for Konosuba's crass brand of humor, personally. I love Michijo, but CrunchyRoll's license to it expired a while back. Sakamoto is pretty funny if you're up for variations on the same basic premise as a joke. Humanity Has Declined is also fun, though its humor is very black.

Digital sales for consoles, or at least Playstation are fairly static in price. Once set, it stays there permanently. Some provisos include a discount if you are a premium service subscriber, or if the game is offered as an incentive. For Playstation, such is a point of contention for me. Those games I got as a Plus member for them are still on my system . . . but when my subscription expired, they locked the games. I cannot play them until I re-join the Plus service. It isn't that expensive ($18 for 3 months), but the principle of the thing is that I have it, I got it legitimately, and yet I cannot play it without subscribing. stressed

That's too bad about sigital console prices. Yeah, I hate the subscription/lease/license model; it's very scummy.

Had to pull an all-nighter to meet some incompetent teammate's demands, and I'm supposed to be off work today. burning_eyes Really glad this client's contract will be ending in a month.

emotion_zombie emotion_zombie emotion_zombie at the new location for my work. Had next to no time to get acclimated to working daytime instead of overnights. Also learned that I can now regularly expect 10-hour work shifts.
I hope this wasn't a major mistake.

Sorry about the suddenness of the switch. 10 hours is not fun, but the extra pay thereof & more normal hours should alleviate that somewhat.
Been fighting a cold from having stayed up all night.

I'm still here, I promise. Work has just been demanding with the sudden sleeping schedule shift and then 10 hour days. That . . . and my life is incredibly mundane. The most exciting thing I have is that I bought four new tires- but the family is still broke as hell. I hate being poor. For the last 6 months or so, everything I have from both my job and my second job has been keeping my family afloat.

No worries; I'm not great about consistency on Gaia either, due to RL as well. 1 more week until a week-long vacation; just need to make it that far.
