I think there was a discussion on this earlier in the thread; even if the athiest doesn't believe the soul-reaver can reave souls, as they don't exist.. if the soul-reaver has the ability to DO so, than hey, it can happen.

I.E..

Galamahr: Gosh-shucks! Dang "soul reavorsz"! There ain't no such thing as souls! Git'! Git' before I stab ya'! [Pulls out a sword.]

Soul Reaver: ..... [Walks over, eats his soul.] Tastes like minty, MINTY candy!

Galamahr: Dang fookin' soul reavorsz! I ain't GOTS A SO- .... [body crumbles into a heap.]

Galamahr: ...Oh. Okie dokie den'. Gahee.

I'm actualy quite literate in RPs when I wish to be. So nice assumption.

And as for aitheists: they can go to hell for all I care and yell at the devil that he doesn't exist as they get molested. This is a fantasy world, deal with it.

And Nightz could ignore having a soul to steal for the same reason people could ignore having a heart to steal, KH style... it's an unnecessary weakness that others made up...

I. Wow... That was odd... And just because a character is an aetheist doesn't mean they don't believe in souls. It means they don't believe in a greater diety. Some aetheists believe that the deity is in the person... [a soul, mayhaps?]

II. If someone has finished the sketches that we talked about on page 304/305, I'd be willing to banner them any time. They need to be black and white, and not too heavily shaded, I can add the effects myself. Just PM me with the image URL.

III. I'm looking for a master, someone to train me. I just need some fine-tuning, I think. I'm working on two new character ideas, and on getting 1K by owning the blackjack system. I'll enter as soon as I get the 1K.

However, I don't believe that's sufficient. For example: I can whip out a weapon IC and attack you with it.. and if you had a religion that believed such a weapon did not exist, it'd suddenly not harm you?

I take all things blessed by any religion or "empowered" by them IC as real; same with characters such as Angels and such. Even if my character doesn't believe them to actually be an Angel of God, or a weapon of Bhudda, or what have you - he still needs to acknowledge that that man there has wings, and that the weapon has great power of some kind and can hurt him, or he's just a dillusional fool, and will be killed.

Belief does not make reality. Strangely, reality creates belief.

The thing is, what is a "soul"? What if a soul is just your inner presence; not spiritually, but rather, the very essence of your being residing inside of your mind and the certain sections of the heart believed to contain information? Wouldn't that be just as well a "soul"?

Not believing in something doesn't mean it's automatically not existant. Doesn't work in the other favor, either - but you must understand, if in real life, a giant floating being went towards me shining with great light and decimated a building..

Would I automatically go "OMFG ITS JESUS"? Hell no. Would I believe it to be real, spiritually? No.

...Would I need to acknowledge that it's there and that it has SOME KIND of great power? Yes, or I'm a dumbass and I'll probably die. =P

If all involved agreed on the Deity's reality. It works better in RP's than in battles, because in the RP's the person has to make his character fit the story. In battles, the story fits the character.

And if you guys start becoming too cuaght up on what's real and what's not, the battle/RP would implode. Like on one of my old forums, almost all fights ended up in a flame-fest/discussion about physics.
