CLIP ART, oh gods. I have memories of clip art, and not all of them are good. It was honestly astounding how clueless many adults were when I was a kid, using wildly unrelated clip art at best, and wildly inappropriate clip art at worst, on flyers or handouts or whatever that would be seen by the general local public. And computer lab in elementary, not every computer had "educational" games installed (I use educational loosely here since some of the machines had some version of Breakout/Arkanoid on them), plus sometimes we just weren't allowed to play the games even once we had finished whatever task(s) we had been assigned, but we were always allowed to d**k around with clip art for entertainment. We made some interesting things with just whatever was available on the machines and whatever degree of image editing skills we were blessed with.
Hard agree about pricing. What I've seen some places and people ask for used items, often of questionable quality, is absurd. Like, who in their right mind would pay more than, MAYBE, five dollars for something that looks a dog chewed it? (And five dollars is being generous and assuming it's something rare with mostly intact packaging, since obviously there ARE people out there who just want packaging for Aesthetic Purposes.)
Meanwhile, sometimes you luck out and literally find a game in good condition in the garbage. No case or anything with it, but my beau found a copy of one of the Dead or Alive games from the original Xbox in the dumpster where his workplace takes its trash, and it is in astoundingly good condition. Just a few light surface scratches, no damage to the memory surface. We haven't tested it, but I don't expect we'll have any problems with it playing, and even if it did have a little trouble, it's in good enough condition that we could get it resurfaced and probably solve the issue. (Not something I LIKE to have done, of course, resurfacing is not the be-all-end-all solution many people seem to think it is, but since this disc displayed none of the hallmarks of having been resurfaced before, I consider it a still viable option if all else fails.)
