Lt. Brookman No army as of yet has access to the flakk missile, not even CSM. I think Bring It Down does work against flyers, but again, seeing as heavy weapon squads do not have the sky fire (or access to sky fire ammo), all their shots only hit on '6's! Bah, that just seems like poor planning. I think GW should have FAQ'd a list of which units (who either already have missile launchers or have the option to take them) can now use the Flakk missile.

That would mean that most armies with access to a missile launcher of sorts could fire these, thus instantly making flyers less powerful. We can't have that now can we? ninja

Flyers are best countered by other flyers or by purchasing a building feature with built-in AA option. edit. Wait, this is the Guard thread. Buy a Hydra already!

Well yeah, the dedicated Hydra is one option, but my wife isn't going to let me get ANYTHING IG-related for a while. The downside of having a couple dozen tanks and a couple hundred infantry to work on. ^^;

Perhaps conversion opportunity laying in wait. A Punisher would have a decent chance of shooting a bird down as well, lots of shots.

Here's hoping he hits them in the rear, as most flyers are well armoured.

I would have thought they were significantly reduced armor, to compensate for being ridiculously hard to hit.

Hydra is pretty much only sensible IG anti-aircraft unit. CSM got flakk missiles with new dex.

That's a heck of a gamble taking it now, because if your opponent doesn't have flyers, you're S.O.L.

Hehe, well they can shoot at normal units, but seeing as this is opposites world, the Hydra can only hit non-flyer units on '6's, or as we like to say, oh-snap shots. emotion_awesome

So much for light vehicle and heavy infantry hunting.
