~Sanctus Espiritus... Kain laughed. He walked up to Maddy and held out a silver feather to her. "I have one last request. And that is for you to kill me."Maddy took a step back. "N-No!! I'm not... Even though you're a demon... I'm not going to kill you.""Why not?" He asked, looking her in the eye."Because I know you did not come here for the reasons you said... You weren't here to kill us... Why should I kill you?" Maddy said, her voice had a hint of fear in it.... Redeem us from our solemn hour~

Adam had stepped up protectively next to Maddy as Kain walked up, Swords at the ready. He could identify with Maddy's mentality. Somewhat. He had the same pesky problem with his conscious. "Just crumble to dust like the others, will ya?" He suggests dryly.

"...No..." Memo watched as Kain made his final request to Maddy. Tears welled in his eyes as the boy stepped forward. "Kain please. You don't have to die. You can leave and have a life. Start anew!" The boy's voice was filled with hope...and desperation.

"Is there truly no other way, Kain? If death is all you have left to live for, then attack me. Strike to kill and taste my blade." I recall Xatu and Elekid and change weapons. I now stand ready for one final attack.

~Sanctus Espiritus... "Death... is something that even the strongest cannot avoid. It is inevitable, and people must learn to deal with it, even though it's hard sometimes." He reached out and took Maddy's hand, and closed her fingers around the feather. "Kill me. It is in your nature as a demon, after all. It is your fate to kill. Doomed to destroy.""No!!" She burnt the feather to a crisp and watched the ashes fall from her hand. "I'm not going to kill anyone. I don't care what 'fate' says about me. I will not destroy anything!"Kain smiled. "When you think about it... Fate is only truly set in stone for those who refuse to fight it." He turned to Thard, and drew a sharpened feather from his wing. He glanced at Maddy from the corner of his eye. "Tell your Father... that I await him." He suddenly rushed Thard, brandishing the feather and aiming for his heart, the sharpened edges of the feather gleaming in the starlight.... Redeem us from our solemn hour~

"No!!" Memo dropped his knives and let go of his wound to chase after Kain. He swiftly ran, but eventually fell to his knees once again from exhaustion and his wounds. "That may be true...but that doesn't mean you have to give up and just die..." The boy said as he looked up at Kain and Thard with small tears dancing down his face. Memo's blood, sweat, and tears glistened in the moonlight.

Dazzle Blade. For those whose eyes are too slow, all they see is a flash of metal. Kain, holding the broken remains of a feather, falls limp to the ground before the Sprout Tower. I land near the rest of the Aquans. A piece of Kain's feather has pierced my armor and is embeded to the left of my heart. Demon blood drips from one sword.

Adam shoved his swords into their holders, looking away as Kain rushed Thard, knowing the outcome. He hesitated, before patting Memo on the back, frowning at the blood covering all of them. "Dibs on the shower."

~Sanctus Espiritus... Maddy just looked at Thard. She wanted to tell him thanks, but the words wouldn't come. Had she just shown a sign of weakness? Or was it something more? She fell to her knees and just sat there on the ground, staring at her hands. Why had he wanted death so bad? To... await her Father? What did that mean?... Redeem us from our solemn hour~

Adam glanced sideways at Sprout Tower, knowing they might be there for awhile while Maddy and Memo gathered themselves. He couldn't stop thinking how raw everything seemed. His whole adventure from Shamouti had been like a game till he joined Aqua, and that had been one rude awakening.

Memo continued to sit on on his knees, looking emptily at the ground. He felt Adam's pat and remained motionless, except for his breathing. "I'm not wrong am I? Why would someone wanna die so badly...when they didn't have to..." He was muttering to himself as the blood and tears continued to trickle down.

*Gugh* I cough up some blood. The feather didn't kill me, but I clearly need help. Reaching for my belt, I manage enough strength to get Xatu's pokeball. "Xatu... Hos... pi... tahhh...."
I pass out from my wound and Xatu teleports me away to get medical treatment.

"Nah, he was just some crazy-winged Masochist demon." Adam said reassuringly, giving another pat. He winced. "With some sharp bloody feathers." He looked at his own, downy soft wings. Even if they were a bit blood stained, he'd keep em. An interesting question came to mind; "What do we do with the body and feathers? I don't want some kid comin' over here and playing with 'em."

~Sanctus Espiritus... Maddy snapped her fingers and set the body and feathers alight. "There...A cremation. The wind will scatter the ashes, I'm sure he'd rather it that way." With that, she disappeared, off to tend to her own wounds.... Redeem us from our solemn hour~

"I'll put them in my pouch..." The boy said still looking at the ground, trying to ignore the pain from all gashes. "As a Demon of the sky a burial would be wrong. A cremation, then spread his ashes over the sky and wind sounds good for him." Memo blinked and released a flurry of new tears. His weeping was now audible as the boy rose.
