Ronin laughed and nodded. "I can tell!"
"You go have fun," Dari said to Ronin, waving in the direction of the dance floor, "I'll come out and find you soon."
"No, this is far more interesting," Ronin replied, taking up the stool on the other side of Cody. "So how did you two meet, New Boyfriend?"

Was it that obvious? Huh. New Boyfriend? He'd been dating Dari a few months now. He took a sip of his drink and said, "We met at the park a few months ago. I invited Dari to coffee, and he accepted." He looked to Dari and gave him a small smile. It was an understated version, but this guy didn't need to know the whole story.

Dari hadn't spoken about Cody much when they'd first met, and then his weekends started filling up with dates and time together, so Cody was liable to be the 'new boyfriend' for a while.
"Well he spilled the coffee on me, then he invited me to get coffee," Dari said, smiling and sipping his drink. It was a waste of money in him for just the taste, really. He gave Cody a wink.
"That's boring," Ronin said, faking a pout for a moment, "but when Dari disappeared on us we figured it had to be something good, right?"
"Absolutely," Dari replied.

Boring. Cody couldn't disagree more. If only this guy knew how wonderful their time had been since that meeting. He sipped at his drink and looked to Dari. "I can't help that I was blinded by your good looks," he said. "I couldn't see where I was going."

Ronin chuckled and propped his head up on a fist, elbow on the bar. He was grinning at the couple, admiring how cute they were together. He had been one of the first few Dari had befriended. He had noticed a new face and seen the chance to make a new friend.
"Flatterer," Dari said.
"You caught yourself a good one, Cody," Ronin said. "Don't let him go."

Cody nodded. He gave Ronin a smile. "I know," he said. "I won't." Dari was so precious to him. It'd only been a few months, but he knew this was love. He finished his drink, taking Dari's hand. "You're not going to escape," he said, teasingly.

"That would imply I wanted to escape," Dari said, bringing Cody's hand up for a kiss. It was a little bit of a far lean but that was fine.
"Well you two should hurry up and drink so you can come dance!" Ronin said.
"Is any of the rest of the crew here?" Dari asked.
"Nah... well. Doug. So yeah. Just us two."
"We're not interrupting a date, are we?"
"Hah! He wishes." That being said, Ronin got up and headed back with a wave. Dari turned back to Cody completely.
"It doesn't taste too bad, does it?"

Cody looked at his empty cup, as if contemplating ordering another one rather than going out on the dance floor. He did, giving the ingredients Dari had rattled off to the bartender earlier. "No, it's good," he assured Dari with a smile. "Actually, is there any trick to dancing? I'm afraid all I know is waltzing." He wrinkled his nose. Stupid classes.

"Oh. Oh, uh. No waltzing, no," Dari said with a laugh. Uh-oh. He may end up with a totally blitzed boyfriend than just a warm and fuzzy one. "You don't have to know how to dance. You just move to the music. You move with me." The smile on Dari's lips spread. Ah, someone to dance with! Someone he could flirt with without risking anything! Someone he could touch without worrying about misunderstandings!
"Just take a look," Dari said, turning on his stool and gesturing to the dancefloor. "How many of those men look like they have any idea what they're doing?"

Cody looked towards the dance floor. He watched, hesitated, looked to Dari, and looked back. "None of them," he muttered. "They look kind of crazy. So there's No steps?"

Dari laughed and hid his face in the shade of a hand for a moment. It was true. A lot of guys just flailed. He hoped he moved better than that!
"No, there's no steps. Just move how you feel. The DJ tonight is a good one."

"And we're supposed to flail about like dancing squid?" he asked. His hand found Dari's knee, and he stroked it with his thumb. "Ah well. As long as I'm dancing next to you."

"No, we're supposed to dance with each other. Not next-to, facing." Dari eyed Cody's hand and smirked, putting his hand over it.
"Do you feel the warmth yet? We don't want you falling over."

Dari's smile split into a grin and he got off of his stool, taking Cody's hand with him.
"Do you want to go dance with Ronin and them? We don't have to." It'd be nice, but he was sure the men would understand of Cody was being shy.
