Cody had expected loud music, but he hadn't expected it to be THAT loud. He followed Dari through the door, and moved a bit closer to him. He looked around curiously.
So. Dari liked this kind of thing. This kind of...loud atmosphere. Huh. He'd pegged him for a walk through fields guy.

Dari felt Cody move closer and reflexively put an arm around him. The poor guy. The rowdiest crowd he'd probably been involved in was back at the school cafeteria.
"Let's get a drink first!" he chimed, "It'll help." Not him, but Cody. Everyone acted like getting tipsy was the best thing. It was too bad his internal anatomy was still alien.

Cody blinked in surprise. A drink would help? "Wha--?" he began, but found himself nodding. Why not? "Alright. What would you like?"

"What do you like?" Dari asked. He knew the bartender by sight now, not by name or any such thing. He stood beside a stool and offered it to Cody. The bartender was an attractive, muscular man in a tight black t-shirt.

Cody took a seat on the proffered stool, but didn't seem to know the answer to Dari's question. Honestly, he didn't drink very often. Apart from getting drunk a few times in the college dorms and paying the price for it the next morning, He wasn't entirely sure. "What's your favorite? I'll have that."

Dari's knowledge of alcohol content was purely scientific, so he went over a few recipes in his head, and then ordered two. The bartender nodded and went off to make them.
"Honestly, I don't drink much," Dari admitted. He did for show with his friends every now and then, but really it wasn't all too interesting for him.

"Me either," Cody admitted. "I did while I lived in the dorms, with friends. But getting sick on weekends lost it's charm." He shook his head. "I never imagined you in a place like this," he added. "I thought You were more of a nature guy."

"Can't I be both?" Dari asked. Their drinks came and he paid with tip, then handed one to Cody and offered his own glass in cheers. "To us?"

"Of course. I was surprised, is all. It's nice to learn more about you." He took his glass and clicked it against Dari's. "To us!" He took a sip, watching Dari over the rim of his cup.

Dari took a sip and smiled. The alcohol wasn't too strong as to make it undrinkable, but it should loosen up the nerves a bit. He leaned over and gave Cody a quick smooch. He then scanned the room to see is he recognized anyone. Hm. It was hard, in that sea of bodies, a usual amount of which lacked shirts.

Cody took a sip and smiled. It wasn't terrible. He looked to Dari. "This is different," He observed, taking another sip. "See any of your friends?"

Dari shook his head. He didn't see anyone right off-- oh wait! He lifted his hand in greeting as a young man came through to the bar from the dance floor, grinning.
"Well I wasn't expecting you here!" the man said. He was no older than 26 and a bit flamboyant to boot.
"Ronin! Hey. This is my boyfriend, Cody! Cody, this is Ronin." Dari sipped his drink then.
"Oh my god, it's so nice to meet you!" Ronin said, offering Cody a hand.

Well, the guy was certainly friendly, Cody thought, as he took Ronin's hand and shook it. "Nice to meet you," he said. Dari hadn't come since they'd started dating, then? He hated to think he'd kept him from his friends. He took another sip of his drink, glancing at Dari. Was everyone here so friendly?

"Are you gonna come dance?!" Ronin asked, slinging a friendly arm around Dari.
"Yeah!" the alien responded, "For sure! We just thought we might loosen up a bit first."
Ronin looked to Cody. "Not a club kinda guy?"

"Dunno," Cody admitted, "This' my first time." He glanced around and hesitated, though. No, he was pretty sure he wasn't a club kind of guy. He didn't want to disappoint Dari, though. He seemed so eager to get back on the dance floor.
