For your sake I hope it's just a cold, as that's transient even if it disrupts work temporarily. A serious dental problem would be worse, especially for a visible tooth as you note.

They say it takes 4 weeks to fully adjust to a nocturnal schedule.

Well, it was transient, whatever it was. Yes, the tooth is still rubbish, but the only lingering issue is the feeling like I burned the left half of my palette. I do not recall eating anything that hot at all- spicy or temperature. That has been a right pain in my arse. It's mostly healed, though so I should be back to normal soon.

The overnight schedule took some adjusting to- but I think I am just about there. My body doesn't mind sleeping from anywhere between 6 and 8am to between 3 and 4 in the afternoon. Yes, it kills 80% of my family time, but it is what I have to do for now. On the other hand, loads of time to myself when not working. That is a definite boon. With the aid of the headphone jack in my PS4 controller, I can even still enjoy my games. Wewt. ninja

Oh, I hate pizza burn and the like.

Having that much dedicated alone time is definitely nice.

Have you read/heard/seen anything by psychologist Jordan Peterson? While I don't agree with all of his perspectives, I do find his analysis intriguing:

Yikes, those are hours and hours long . . . going to have to find a time when I can delve into those.

Yeah, each video is stitched together from all of his lectures that week of his class PY 434 at the University of Toronto. sweatdrop Though it is a large time commitment, I'm glad you're interested in at least checking out 1 of them.

This is going to be brief and not do his analysis justice, but: he in many ways starts from where Jung left off, incorporating philosophy and modern understanding of neurophysiology to further tease out the origin & purpose of Jungian archetypes by application to the commonalities of mythology in parallel with early civilization.

That is some seriously heady stuff . . . definitely something I will have to set time aside for.

Busy week & now Mother's Day...

Had a chance to check those out?

Not as of yet . . . its a rather daunting time investment. I'm ashamed to admit that, though.

Nothing to feel bad over; it's a lot, you're busy, and it's not something casual.

Hey guys! Letting you know I am very much alive! heart

Long future head for me. I'm moving to SC to be with my fiance. After living for a year and adjusting to him becoming blind as well graduating from college, we will move to Oregon permanently because we believe we will be happy there and that's the place where to raise a family. (Open minded, good education, especially good deaf school if my child ends up being deaf) So yea.

Let's see what else...

-thinks-

So how is everyone else?

still, I feel bad. You wanted to share it, and I am left feeling a bit like I am letting you down. sweatdrop

Good to hear from you, Lily. Been a damn long time. I'm glad to hear that your relationship is going strong. It is interesting to hear about your opposing issues. His blindness and your deafness, both integral senses to most people, but you work around it. I truly wish I could move to there as well. Perhaps when the kids are out of the house. In fact, that is the current (tentative) plan. even if we have to take out a major loan, and use it up going as far west as we can make it.

Yea. I mean he was able to see fine six months ago, and then wham! Can't drive anymore. Can't read anymore. Hell, can't rp anymore...

but he's doing really good despite all of this. He just wishes he learned enough sign language because since his vision went, I voice for him and he tries to sign for me because he knows I hate wearing my cochlear implant but I am doing so for him so we can communicate. He still wants to learn sign so when we live together, I can just fix his hands and start to teach him.

Though he said few times that he would be bitter about becoming blind if he didn't meet me, I was his rock apparently. His light in the darkness. I think he's just flattering me lol!

And gotcha! I hope that works out for you then!

I don't think he is flattering you. Having somebody that can relate through a massive change in your life can be a tremendous help. I remember when a friend, a pastor of all things, was losing his eyesight. I was a cart pusher at the time, and he was leaving the Walmart with his family. Walking with him, he lamented that he lost his mobility- and I immediately (though playfully) said "bullshit. You didn't lose your mobility, it changed. You can still walk, move about, and do as you wish. When you need to go somewhere, your wife is beside you to get you where you need to be. You are different, not less." He seemed to like that little bit of wisdom. Never thought I would be a friend to a Man of God, but he was a good person and I enjoyed talking with him.

Whatever you have to do to teach sign, my dear, I suggest you do. It is something not nearly enough people know how to do, and it can be something special between the two of you.

Hi, Lily, sorry to hear you're going through so much.

I was taught a bit of sign languages in elementary, but I can only recall the alphabet and a few words.

Better than me, Snowman. I know bubkis . . . though if a Lily came my way, I'd gladly learn to communicate with her better.
