Van Evok what did they do to the DA that can make them worse? Nothing. Just that NOW we´re allowed to have the gear rules that space marines have.... 2-3 years AFTER the modern space marine codex and the October FAQ for DA´s, which we SHOULD had been able to do back then.
Not the mention, in comparison to other armies that got a new codex, DA´s and maybe.... not entirely sure.... BT´s are the only two underdog and underpowered armies in 40k series.
At it this point, people are waiting for a new dark angel CODEX, not a new [piip] FAQ! mad

At least DA can sit back and shoot marine gunline style... with tacticals, razorbacks, devastators and dreadnoughts you can mount quite resilient firepower army.

Just shoot the warriors and it's all over. Though cunning lazy 'Cron players will always hide a small squad at the back of his deployment zone, out of LOS to prevent his army from phasing out.

At least DA can sit back and shoot marine gunline style... with tacticals, razorbacks, devastators and dreadnoughts you can mount quite resilient firepower army. Oh yeah, Necrons..... o.o Totally forgot them for some reason.... <.<" Don´t they mostly just suffer that Gauss-weaponries became totally worthless and not having anymore then 1 anti-tank gun? :-/ And in close-combat they´ll get their arse handed to them for loosing ld-checks? o.o and maybe some few outdated gear rules.... <.<" ......wow..... they kinds suck don´t they.....? o.o"
True, but to me it´s the moment when I have to throw moral tests that makes me worry the most. Without the Stubborn to make sure that units stay in close combat to keep a enemy unit locked there for a turn or two and without Intractable to keep dev-squads firing desbide being shot a dozen times and being forced to throw moral tests, or if I really wanted them to stay there, I would give them Stubborn aswell.
Sure I was still forced to throw pinning tests, but that´s morely a balancing element for the total immunity to moral test army.
Now a days....... Veteran squad, terminators, bikers, command squad and leaders..... no fear of moral tests......
Sure I do have banners that give rerolls for ld-checks and a sacred standart and Ezekiel´s book that grands fearless.... on 12" inches.....which at best I can have either 2 rerolls or 3 fearless.... which are ok, but not really a replacer for the stubborn and intractable, considering the benefits you get from both and the fact how much would you have to spend points to get them.
And yes, Space Marines have a high LD-value and I do have an average luck throw, but I want to be certain that it´ll go my way, rather then againts me, if that makes any sense.... :-/
That´s mainly the underlying problem with the DA codex, I shouldn´t be playing with just codex: space marines: I should be playing with Dark Angels.

I feel so stupid and confused....
Stupid because I haven´t bothered to check the authors name for the current codex.
Confused because the person who made the current one, is the same guy who made the 3rth Ed supplement codex: Jervis Johnson, Andy Hoare being the second author for the 4th Ed.
and after finding THIS interview, I am more confused as ever.
.....I.. don´t know what to think anymore..... o.o"

I doubt it, he's been steered away from rules design and fulfils an advisory role now. The current design studio has been downsized on top of that, with the firing of Alessio. Right now we've got Matt Ward, Phil Kelly, Robbin Cruddance and.. derp. Oh right, Jeremy Vettock, whom I have high hopes for. He's doing the Orcs and Goblins army book.

ive recently been having thoughts about writing a few codexes for use in apocalypse games, mainly for the salamanders and raven guard,
currently, i have a few ideas for what units and rules to give them
Salamanders:
may take baal predators ( taken from blood angels ) may take the flamer and melta pistols ( taken from blood angels ) attacks second against other initative four models, to show their slight reaction delays dreadnoughts may take inferno cannons (FW) master crafted melta, and flamer weaponry ( Vulcan hestan ) master crafted thunder hammers ( vulcan hestan ) may not take more than 0-1 of land speeder squadrons, attack bike squadrons, or biker squadrons ( old SM codex )
Raven guard
May take Storm raven gunships ( taken from blood angels ) May take assault squads as troops choises ( taken from blood angels ) Any tactical, devastator or scout squad without transport may have infiltrate at 5 pts per model ( Old SM codex ) all units have fleet special rule ( Kayvaan shrike ) command squads have the option to take jump packs
any help with rules, points costs, or anything else that would fit within the armys, or even storys of the chapters, would be really helpfull,

Looking at the Raven Guard ideas, I like the feel and it would suit the theme of the overall chapter, but I wouldn't give Devastators the infiltrate Universal Special Rule. They are designed to be a heavy support squad and I dont think they would work as infiltrators. Though having heavy bolter armed Devastators infiltrating behind enemy lines and ripping infantry to shreds does sound pretty tempting.
