He nodded, pulling his hands away, holding them out palm-up. The sweat was frosted over, and his palms were blue. "Oh, that's bad." He heated his palms, thawing them out. "We need to think of a way to get you out of the Mizu mindset, if that's possible."

"I think it was working, with the heat." She wobbled a little, finally opting for just sitting on the ground rather than making a fool of herself by trying to stand. "...But I do so much with ice, I don't even have to think about how it's done anymore. It's hard to picture cold without any water involvement."

"I like to think of cold as simply a lack of heat. If you remove all heat you are left with cold. The best way to do that to other things is to draw heat into your body. The easiest way to do it to yourself is to remove it from your body."

"Fire and Water, Yin and Yang." He sat down too, crossing his legs. "Next time, let's try something. Think mainly in your element while cooling your body. But at the same time, I want you to try devoting part of your concentration to keeping yourself heated within. A fire at the center of your chakra that the ice is encroaching on. Counter your ice with your fire. It should keep you balanced enough so something terrible doesn't happen. That's the theory, at least. If it starts getting out of hand, we'll heat you back up as quickly as is safely possible."

She stared at him for a long moment. Technically, there was no safe answer to that. ...But technically he'd just said something that wasn't all that safe for him either.
Nyl had grown accustomed to working alone. She hadn't thought it at the time...but it was hard to convince herself that relying on other people was acceptable.
"All right. I'll keep it in mind." She got up and brushed her hands together. "Thanks, thief-sensei."

He nodded. "No problem! I think Mai's really excited about getting into training. Let's have another session tomorrow afternoon or evening." He picked himself up slowly, digging in his pockets for his specs. When he remembered they were broken, he sighed.

"It used to be perfect, but the optometrist said it was deteriorating. Slowly, but surely. He said at this rate, by sixty, I'll be blind." That fact didn't seem to bother him much. "He didn't know what was causing the deterioration, though. He said my eyes looked perfectly healthy."

Mai sat in her room getting annoyed with trying to switch it back and forth from sphere to cube and growled punching the wall.
"ow..." She said shaking her hand growling to herself still.
She sat back down on her bed with her legs cross and kept doing it getting annoyed with it wanting to just make it explode.
"I like wild better...."
She sat there for about thirty minutes still not getting the results she wanted and frowned.
"stupid stupid stupid......."
She threw her sword across the room that was next to her bed as it cracked the mirror and an image flashed threw her mind and she fell off her bed holding her head screaming, as her head began to sear with pain after the images.
~STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!~
She was thinking to herself but it could easily be picked up by anyone around and she was in a feetle *idk spelling* posistion on the ground holding her head in pain.
