eh...not so much, that's gravity, using the water as a 'force-transfer device' it would work just as easily with mercury or something...
and actually, water is one of the most energy-dense common substances there is...it's specific heat is around 5000
yes, that's good, it means it takes a lot of energy to heat it and it gives off a lot of energy when you cool it
back to idea:
but if we had a chain-pulley system with buckets to catch the crap, the weight would pull it, turning wheels and spinning a generator...

It's like hamster power! Without the hamsters. And a bigger wheel and more buckets and conveyor belts.
In other news, I just splurged near 100K on new items for reasons that escape me too. WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
And I think I've fallen in love with Hidden Ace... But it's so expensivvveeeeee...
