I haven't RPed in a while since it wasn't working well over long distance w/ my DM. Working overtime probably hasn't helped my creative juices much. xp

I've not had even the slightest opportunity to RP tabletop in coming up on a year. As for online, I've not made a post since Feb 28th. So, yeah. Kinda not RPing at all lately . . . and I do miss it.

The faux-tabletop board games (WotC makes some, but there are plenty of others) are appealing, certainly more palatable to a wider audience in some respects. Have you had any experience with them?

I cannot say I have. My trust issues do not really put faith in online gaming where dice or cards are involved. If I can easily abuse trust and cheat, then others will have that temptation as well. Should I now know the individuals- my paranoia kicks in and I wonder if they are cheating like mad.

I wasn't speaking of online games, actually; I meant things like https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/66356/dungeons-dragons-wrath-ashardalon-board-game
Were you referring to tools to play RPGs over the net?

More or less. I am not aware of too many tools that allow for fast-paced play, other than the honor system. Rolling your dice and reporting what they came up with . . . when you could easily say whatever number you wish. Perhaps I am just a cynical old fart but I cannot trust people easily anymore.

I've not used any of those clients, but I know some do have a public dice roller built-in. Of course, pseudo-random number generators have downsides...

Vae Victus.
Today was the last day of work at Domino's. It was a perfect storm of everything I hated most.
Things like working 10.26 hours in one day. Things like taking 12 deliveries, and only 4 of them tipped. Things like being stuck with the worst person in the store all day. Alone. Things like cleaning up other people's messes constantly. Things like having a*****e customers treat me like crap.
All in the same day. Well, at least for now, it is over. I get a short break, and then start work in a new job at a local convenience store. Hardly celebrating my education, but at least I won't be spending an average of $50 on gas, or driving my car into the ground. I hope this is a good move, but at the very least it is bound to be better working conditions.

I am relieved, and growing more comfortable with the idea of not being a delivery driver, that is certain. The transition was not without hiccups, though. My drug screening had to be rescheduled because of a miscommunication, but we got that taken care of. Now I am waiting for them to do their side of the paperwork. Officially, tomorrow is listed as my start date, but they have not yet called me to show up for training. I know it will happen. Of the 9 individuals set to be interviewed on the day I had mine, I was the only one hired. Various reasons, but they have some degree of faith in me, and I refuse to let them down through laziness. Of course, I have had some time between jobs- but have worked harder than ever with errands and driving all over creation. I actually am looking forward to taking it somewhat easy by having a job. sweatdrop

Hello, Melody. smile Yeah, that is how me and Yoder ended up chatting here for so long. I saw the thread title, and thought it was as good a place as any to make daily posts (before the first posting bonus was a joke). Since then, he and I have come here to have an ongoing conversation.
By all means, join in. We tend to post once a day, but you never know. We might be more active with more people.

Oh! Well then Hello! It sounds like it must of sucked working at that Dominos. I hate jobs with customer service. The worst one I ever worked at was this ice cream shop named Sweet Treats where the only way to get better ours or a raise was to sleep with the husband of the two owners. Need less to say I never got better hours or a raise... But, you should be proud that you got yourself out of that bad job! I hope your new job works out better for you.
Also! I would love to continue having conversations with you folks. I like talking to new people even if those new people are over the web and not in person~

Before I worked delivering pizza, I was a TSS. Believe it or not, that job paid $11.25 an hour, and I took a $6 an hour job because it made more money. With TSSing, if for any reason you could not be with the kid, then you lost hours. I made so little that I was on partial unemployment for 18months as a TSS. In the four years (almost to the day) I worked with pizza, we managed to pay our bills without issue. Now I hope this new job will work better. It still is not optimal, my education deserves a far better position- but at the moment, not driving my car into the grave and not paying $50 a week in gas sounds fairly good.
Conversations are always welcome, though I admit I am not sure where to broach a convo with you. sweatdrop
Pleasure to meet you, Duvynne. Nice to have more faces here. at this rate, this thread might actually turn into a secondary OOC thread. smile
