*Maggie frowns, a little alarmed. She doesn't like to judge people sight unseen, but she knows Bard wouldn't say something like that without cause* Heavens, what has she done?
PostPosted: Wed Mar 09, 2005 4:16 pm

*Bard flushes a little* Well she... she... ermm...

.. made some rather inappropriate advances.

*Maggie blinks, puzzled for a brief moment until it clicks what he means, and then her face turns decidedly red* Oh . . . my . . . well . . ! *she clears her throat awkwardly* Ehm . .. well, that is . . 'tis no wonder K seemed upset, then . ..
PostPosted: Wed Mar 09, 2005 4:42 pm

Yes... *flushes a bit more. He really doesn't want to know how much Kara bothered him last night... or why?* ...well. K seems like a nice fellow. I'd just hate it if Kara caused some trouble for him. *or for me, he adds silently*

*he ponders a moment, then asks* Maggie... have you met anyone on the Brink named Luca?

He does . . *she agrees* 'Tis a shame te have te be at odds with his sister like that . . .

*Maggie shakes her head at the question* Luca? Nay, not as yet.
PostPosted: Wed Mar 09, 2005 5:08 pm

I haven't either... *he frowns* Maggie, what K is worried about is bigger than just his sister. I think he's afraid that Kara might do something to jeopardize his future. Something that involves this Luca person... and Cora.

Cora? *Maggie looks doubly concerned at the mention of their friend* She's connected te them, somehow? *her frown deepens, and her voice takes on a protective sort of tone* Do ye . . do ye think this Kara might try to do something te harm Cora?
PostPosted: Wed Mar 09, 2005 5:47 pm

I don't know... Kara seems... *he thinks* No, soft isn't the word, but I don't think she'd stand much of a chance against Cora. *ponders* And honestly, I don't think that she intends to harm anyone... at least... not out of malice.

*Maggie nods, relieved by that much, at least, then frowns thoughtfully* She might do something unintentionally then . . . .

I wonder, how much this place and the things that happen here might affect the times outside of it . . .
PostPosted: Wed Mar 09, 2005 5:59 pm

I don't know. I wonder if even Tavin knows....

*he perks up*

I found this book though. I've been trying to read it, but I keep getting distracted.

*he wanders over to the bar where he and Luke were drinking and sure enough, it's still sitting there. He picks up the old gray tome and brings it over to show Maggie*

What is it? *Maggie asks, curious. She studies the cover as he brings it over, trying to sort out the letters and their corresponding sounds as she recognizes them*

*Maggie blinks, utterly lost* Heavens, that canna be English . . . *but then again, she thinks inwardly, there's a lot she doesn't know* . . . can it?
PostPosted: Wed Mar 09, 2005 6:19 pm

Oh, no. *he laughs* Sorry, love, no. It isn't English. It's German.

It says,

A Mathematical Concordance of Time and the Universe, Vienna University Press, 1886.

Isn't that interesting?

*She's relieved that she at least isn't too ignorant of her own language, even though she may be about others. Maggie considers the title as he translates it for her - getting the distinct feeling she's still missing something here. She furrows her brow in thought*

Vienna . .. *now, where has she heard that before?*
