She gave a look of surrender before she stepped close, leaning against him. "I know...I know it all too well..." Piper couldn't help but feel as if the weight of the world was on her shoulders. Well Malik's was...and she knew he trusted no one else, probably never would. But she didn't dislike the burden put on her, only worried about it some. But to be that close in the fray meant she'd be using her bow more as a blocker than a weapon, meaning she'd have to have a sword to weild if her other hands. They both knew she wasn't too good at that either. Here came that doubting she was prone to under the eyes of someone who could best her. "You honestly trust me to cover you so closely when I can't handle the weapon I would need? I could very well end up a danger to you...I'm not in tune with your fighting style, can't keep up with it." The only way she ever would be would be through a communion influence but there was no way that would happen, with Malik's mind on war and hers on worry, it was very likey they the very nature of communion would prevent it from happening because they couldn't clear thier heads.

Small explions lit off all around Eliot and the jackles, blinding them, scaring them. Confused, they let go of Eliot and looked around. Warren bent and picked up another handful of rubble, throwing a bit of energy into them and tossing them in the jackle's faces.
Gees, where was all this light comming from? It was blinding them, making their eyes hurt. Sparks were going off in their ears, singing bits of their fur, or landing directly on their skin. Damn, not being able to see, not knowing where this new advisary was, they tucked their tails between their legs, and ran for it.
She blushed. It was too much like her own story, and she didn't like reliving it. She swalloed. "I-I know this story. I don't relaly need to...to read it again."
She turned her head away from the book, staring at some mark on the table.

Ow! What in the world where the jackles doing now? not only did they have to kill her but they had to blind her to.
... Wait... if she could see... that meant she wasn't dead...
Eliot slowly opened her eyes. She saw her wizard, but it didn't make much sense to her. What was the wizard doing back in her homeland? She looked at her surroundings and it clicke din that she wasn't home, she was somewhere far away.
She gave a soft wine, and stood up on shaky legs of a human. Blood poured from numerous wounds. She took a deep breath, and tried to steady herself, but she felt very dizzy. "Thank you Warren. The jackels, they know I can't handle three of them... I think I had better go lay down." she sawyed as she started to walk bak to the Keep.

Warren was using a long, forked branch as a crutch. "I heard you come outside..." He bent and tucked his shoulder under hers, and although they were both shakey, he helped her back into the keep.
The stairs were the hard part, seeing as Eliot had lost alot of blood, and niether where in good shape. Evetually, he got her upstairs and into one of the beds. He took a chair, and sat there panting for a moment. "How are your wounds? Should I...clean them or something?"

Eliot had the feeling that Warren didn't know how to clean wounds.
"No, don't worry about it, I'm used to cleanign wounds. I just need some hot water and a cloth." She looked herself over a bit, she really only had a few deep bites, One on her ankle, a few on her back, and on her arm. Her neck...
OKay maybe it was worse than she thought, btu she shoudl be fine.
"Thank you. What did you do to them?" She hadn't seen it after all.

"I know. and we know how to fix that little problem, don't we."
A small grin and lifting her head up for a gentle kiss, a lingering one that helped clear thoughts of worry, or doubt, or pain, or fear. his hand ran through her hair lightly.
"Anytime you are ready, I am ready."
Onyx shrugged lightly.
"This one is different. there's no forcing and no violence toward her. and in the end, she isn't a slave anymore, but a kind of..I don't know, noble..married to the Pleasure master that trained her, whom she fell in love with."

He shrugged. "Nothing fancy. Threw some fireworks at them and scarred them off. It's pretty much the extent of my ability." He picked up a cloth from the bed stand, and held it out to her so that she could wrap it around her neck.
"Just lucky I woke up when I did. Otherwise, i wouldn't have made it downstairs in time."

She shook her head. "Please don't make me read it." She closed her eyes and held them shut. "I don't want to know about the things they do."
She pulled her cloak tight about herself, and even though she had changed her clothes long ago, she was feeling naked again.

Piper let him soothe her in that way that only he knew how to do, let her mind take leave of things grim and focus onto Malik. It was worth a try, wasn't it? "I'm ready..." Then again she had to be, didn't she? Few options were left at this point...she wanted to be there with him and she wanted to fight with him, and do so not having to worry about misstepping Malik or making him worry about her. And after all, this was spur of the moment, no one knew and currently they could say they were relatively safe for the time being. With a little nod she took his hand. "Pick someplace." After all, Malik needed to be in a comfort zone...she knew he had a bit more of an issue with letting his defenses down than she did.

She smiled at him, accepted the cloth and wrapped around her neck slowly. "It seems pretty impressive to me, not something I can do for sure."
She sighed. "thank God you did, the jackles are very much awarre that the Wolf-Kin can handle two, but three, is just to much." She sighed heavily and drooped. "I wonder why they are here..."

He wished he could do a little more, but he had neither the strength, nore the knowledge to do so. "So what do these jackles have against you anyway? You never did anything to them, did you?"

She laughed but with out any humour. "No i never did anything to them. The wolves were happy to leave them alone. But they always attacked us." She scratched at her nose a bit.
"My father believed it was because we are superior to them. Did you notice they where half jackle, half human?" She looked to warren from under her eyebrows. 'They are unable to transform, and stay in that body. they are jelous of us. They hate us because.... because we are... because..." She looked up and away, "Well I'm not really sure why they hate us."
"But they attack us. and the pups to. The pups are easier to catch you see." She wilted a little. 'they are vile creatures."

"I certainly did notice. Not really nice to look at, are they?"
He nodded. "Kind of like how I am half elf and half man. Some people hate me for it, for different reasons. One side becaise I am only half of a man. The other, because I have half a man in me." It didn't look like it bothered him though.

Malik nodded, kissed her hand, and lead her down stairs, to another room, and opened it. inside was a room similar to Roarke's illusionary realm, but there was no sunlight here. nighttime. somethign he'd had a private talk with her father about. it looked like the lake that they had stayed by on thier first little ecursion, the illusion devices placed on the walls.
"How about here."
Onyx nodded lightly, and gently folded his wings aroudn her some at her pulling her cloak tighter.
"Are you alright? is it too cold here, or is it just...that there are somethings you'd rather keep buried?"
Onyx purred lightly, and gave her a little nuzzle.
"My dad is the same way. there are things he's done, or been done ot him..he doesn't want to remember either."

She was a little slack jawed for a moment upon entering the room. Wait, wait, when did he have this little set up happen? More importantly where did he find the time to do it in? "A'mael...." Her hand squeezed a little tighter at his own hand and she smiled in a particular way, the gold flicking in her eyes as it often did when her mood proved better than normal. Made her think of a conversation she'd had with Zahara...when was the moment you realized you loved him? We went camping...in a word. "Perfect." Giving his hand a tug she pulled him a ways into the room and sat down on teh ground crosslegged, tugging him to do the same. "Sure you're ready?"
