As for quality control, I do have it. If someone can type a legible app for a character, I let them in. I'm not denying most people. If and when "next year" for this thing rolls around, there will be less people, more limitations, more strict rules. There are some people here that are just asking to be banned, and it's going to be pretty funny to some when that happens...after this whole thing fills up, of course.

Right now I'm more concerned about getting all of the branches started and having this thing progress/finish, and when the second rounds roll around for whatever branches, I might tighten things up a bit. Returning back to the quality control, let's look at the guy you mentioned who has the impenetrable psionic shield that can only be taken down by similar psionics. The person he's fighting already came to me about it, and after we talked, there are a few more things he said he's going to try before I have to talk to the person about the power in question, and the guy who came to be about it thinks he has the match in the bag anyway. Another reason I'm letting most things in, from Ertai-type characters to human characters, where there's an obvious imbalance of power, is because...and this ties in with the 30-page "tier" argument...when it comes down to it, regardless of the tier of a character, the ultimate clash in a roleplay fight (at least the majority of the ones that are going to go down in this tournament) is the competency and creativity of one author vs. that of the other. And that's obvious. And yeah, there can be battles where one character is thrust into an "unwinnable" situation, and as far as things like that go in this tournament, that's just part of the luck of the draw. That one character your character can't beat, though, may be eliminated by someone else, and your character can still win the tournament. Not that you're concerned about that, Binatica, because I'm not just specifically talking to you here. Aside from that, even people who seem like good quality could turn out to be horrible or pull something totally out of their a**, which would be judged...like everything else...on a case-by-case basis as problems arise. It's also destiny that bad quality people won't win in the end.

And let's face it, the majority is not always quality. Dealing with stuff like this is part of running a huge-a** tournament, which is something I wanted to do and that I'm prepared to deal with, while learning along the way. =DDD
