Here is my Question:
What the heck gives teachers the right to assign work without enough class time to finish it? And what right do they have to grade us on things we are forced to do once school is over and we have no obligations to follow "thier rules?"
Trust me; what your teacher assigns should be the least of your worries, in terms of how 'fair' it is. The thing is, in college (assuming you go there), there is little to no assigned work that can be done in class, with exception to quizzes and/or tests. All of the time taken in class is from listening to the professor speak and taking notes, notes used later to do the homework, which, guess what, is graded most of the time.
As for the second question, teachers have that right because they are responsible enough to know what you need to do to succeed. Believe it or not, homework and studying are the best ways to fully understand the material, letting the teacher give you the most out of what you can learn in one year/semester by 'forcing' you to do it. Now, if you're one of those gifted students who happens to get along fine without the need of these practices, go on ahead and rant. Truth is, if that's the case, you're not speaking for much more than yourself.
