I've seen those perfumes all over eBay for years. I've always wondered what they smelled like, but not curious enough to shell out the money. Besides, if it's floral, I won't wear it. I'm a spice, earthy sort of girl. XP

God! I haven't posted here in so long!!!
Anyways, in the book Paint It Black: A Guide to Gothic Homemaking by Voltaire ( Not the French Philosopher ), he talks about taking wine bottles, spray-painting them black, and then putting candles in the top, and letting the wax melt over the bottle.
He says "So it looks like something straight out of the Phantom of The Opera!"
xD It made me happy. Because he's awesome, and if he likes Phantom, he's even more awesome. heart

Ooh, I'd love to have more phantom-esque home decor. x3
Lately I've found myself relating the most random things to PotO...any character who is facially disfigured and batshit insane, I immediately think, "OMG ERIK!" Like Mello from Death Note and Taylor from Animorphs. Pretty stupid comparisons, but I just can't help myself. D':
edit: Although now that I think of it, Mello did blow up his entire lair, and Taylor does like torturing people...

Offtopic: HOLYSHITMOOCATHGHGYHDGHH. <3
On topic: I sort of do the same thing, Mir. Course, Erik himself can be placed in that very general villain/anti-hero category because so many like him have been created before and after. So, there's tons to compare him to.

I guess the only difference is that most other villains seem to acquire their deformities from an accident instead of being born with it.
Oh, and I forgot Zuko from ATLA, too. xD
Mello? Whatev. Matsuda is where it's at! :B

OH. MY. GAWD.
Wow.
Okay, I found a reference, and I will post the picture as soon as I upload it. I found a comic in Virginia called "Zombies on Broadway". Naturally, I had to own it. Not one of the best comics, but it had a cool concept.
And then, it got bonus points: An actual zombie played Erik at the end of the book. I'll post the panel where it happens ASAP.
Zombie Erik FTW.

But how quickly we forget Such a sure and perfect plan, And unlearn the passions that once had burned. I'm getting a chandelier in my room next semester. Score. But how could I have seen? What was I to do? How could I know I would find you? -Erik, The Phantom of the Opera, Tom Alonso

Hehe, Zombie!Erik? That is an ingenious concept.
No fair, I want a chandelier too! Allthough maybe that's not a good idea...I've always been paranoid that if there's an earthquake while I'm sleeping all my furniture and stuff will come crashing down on me.
Being crushed by a chandelier would be a good way to die though...for a phan...

There's a little shop in Santa Monica's 3rd street promenade called 'Puzzle World' where they sell all kinds of toys.
I came across this anime type figure called 'Mask of Phanteana' (or something like that, the writing was kinda wonky).
I thought 'Oh, an anime phantom chick', and when I character description, the toy's name was Bella Winslow. xd It was wearing a half of Winslow's mask, 2 mini masks for her bra-plates, and comes with a synthesizer. No pictures though. sad

Mini mask bra? AHAHAHA. I was reading this book called Beastly, by Alex Flinn. It's a modern-day retelling of BatB, and it's actually quite good. Well, here is what the Beast, aka Kyle Kingsbury, aka Adrian, has to say about Erik: Quote: I finished the hunchback book (everyone died), so I read The Phantom of the Opera. In the book--unlike the dorky Andrew Lloyd Webber musical version--the Phantom wasn't some misunderstood romantic loser. He was a murderer who terrorized the opera house for years before kidnapping a young singer and trying to force her to be the love he was denied. Haha, you're a loser, ALW!Erik. xD

Wow, major LOL at ALW!Erik's expense. I have to buy that book now.
This might not count as a reference but I was in the library and I saw Dario Argento's Opera in the DVD section. I picked up and was going to check it out, but then I remembered that the Phantom in that version stuffs rats down his pants. So I got scared and put it back. xp

I've got a few...
But the most recent was yesterday. We were driving and we have this DVD player in the car (for long car rides). So I was watching a movie, and I glanced out the window and there was this big billboard that said 'PHANTOM FIREWORKS.'
Guess what I was watching, and what scene?
PoTO, right before Masquerade.
