The 'monster'? There are people who firmly believe in it; it's never been 'proven' that there is no monster - most likely because it's impossible, or next to, to prove that something
doesn't exist - although the logistics have always been shown to be very improbable. For the most part I think people accept it's a myth.
Since the photograph that started it all was proven to be a fake. (The history's actually pretty interesting, you know). That makes it even more hilarious that the Thatcher government considered this scheme.
