*cry* No more Star Wars! The only good thing is that soon it won't be the longest set of movies. Harry Potter = 7 Narnia (wants to) = 7
Star Wars = 6
So ha. mrgreen

I didn't HATE Narnia, but it was made because Disney Enterprises couldn't stand that all that entertainment money going to LoTR wasn't going to THEM, so they did as big a copycat as possible. rolleyes And they screwed up the big scenes at the Table, breaking the sequence in half (what, because they might make some kids cry? :X That's what was supposed to happen!) & somehow managing to keep it pre-dawn there during that whole DAYLIGHT battle just a few miles away! :X That cheaply-made 1970's TV animated version by Lee Mendelson's studio (same one that did all those Charlie Brown specials all those years) had a lot more heart & was way better!

I think the Star Wars prequels are okay (tlaaahhk), but I love the original trilogy. It's so fun. I don't watch the LoTR movies (though I saw the first one with my then-best friend) and don't see Narnia movies (what Narnia movies have come out lately besides that one off of "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe"?).
But I'm probably going to be watching the version of Hamlet with Mel Gibson as the ending to my Mel-Gibson-a-thon, which I've been wanting to do since watching Hamlet.

Bleh.. the animated only had Hobbit and RotK. I heart (what else?) the BBC set..and of course I'm on topic... ninja After all, I have even more reason to love it now that I realized that Puddleglum (Silver Chair) was none other than Tom Baker! It may seem a little outdated compared to our CGI stuff now, but I thought it was the coolest ever. *pokes* Go watch!

It may seem a little outdated compared to our CGI stuff now, but I thought it was the coolest ever. *pokes* Go watch! No, no--the animated Narnia. It actually came out on a cheap DVD when the Disney movie was in the theaters. The animation looks cheap (the networks gave lousy budgets for animation in the '70's) & the kids are all very mid-'70's-looking in styles, but trust me--I think Lee Mendelson really put a lot of effort in capturing the spirit of the book with what he had.
Yes, I liked the BBC Narnia series. And I do like the Rankin-Bass LoTR specials. The Hobbit is what got me started on Tolkien when I was a kid! xd (Not mad about the Ballad of Nine-Fingered Frodo & the Ring of Doom, though....)*Sits down & eats a banana split to stay on topic. smile *
