"Wai-no ACK MARY!!" Sunstrike once again ended up in the pile of clothes, limbs akimbo as Mary showed her joy, this time she got the furry cap, and the red disk fell on his head, opening with a snap into the tophat.

"Ow..." All the air had been forced from his lungs, and he was left gasping. Anyone that randomly wandered in would probably be embarassed for the two, considering the position they were in. But Sun just wiggled his toes and grinned happily at the girl, hugging her back, once the pain stopped anyway.

"Shirt next?"
PostPosted: Mon Jul 31, 2006 10:11 pm

::Ahh the joys of youth. Alas young Mary was so caught up in the moment and the movement that she was swept off her feet...literally, though only realizing it in the figurative sense.

As they landed, with the flop of clothes and the pop of a hat, she continued to grin happily. She had landed so perfectly. Her legs stradling over Dathos, her miniskirt just inches from revealing entirely too much. Her arms wrapped around him pulling close...for a moment she even forgot his wounds.

He was gasping too...was it a lack of breath? Her arms crushing his lungs? Was he simply getting entirely too enraptured in the moment?::

Sunstrike
Shirt next?

::And thats when it struck her. He was without a shirt. And leaned up a bit stradling over him, her warm thighs againsts his sid--::

EEP!!

::For the poor girl the moment of realization came all at once and entirely too fast. She was on top of him! In a blur of white she was up on her feet an arms length away from Datho, with her cheeks blushing so brightly they were practically glowing. Her right hand offering Datho the shirt, at the end of her fingertips, and her left tugging down her skirt, wishing for a few more inches of coverage.::

Shirt! He-here ya go!

::She said, honestly afraid to give the boy eye contact.::

Mary was probably gonna be in a nun's suit later on if Sun wasn't more careful about where she ended up. Either that or feint from all that blood rushing to her head.

He looked at the shirt she'd handed him and actually managed to figure out what went where, he was still learning, and the abbrasions on his body made him wince.

Finally with a soft sigh he was completely covered, holding his arms out for an inspection...he looked like any guy off the street with all the bandages covered, well besides what his features were like, and those were only really showing because he had the goggles on the top of his head rather then over his nose. He looked around to see if there were anything else he needed to put on, and remembered the shoes.

He looked at them a little distastefully and then looked up at Mary. There wasn't anything wrong with the shoes, he just had a strange feeling about them, like he wouldn't like to wear them unless he had to.

"Those too?"
PostPosted: Thu Aug 03, 2006 7:35 am

::He was clothed! For the most part at least...enough for her to get her bearings straight before her head popped like an over-filled balloon. She noticed that look of disdain about the shoes, wasnt too entirely worried. It was downright freezing outside and some of the floors on the tower were pretty cold. With his feet totally exposed he'd probably catch a cold.::

S'kinda cold out there, so you'll probably need somethe--

::A staticy interuption fizzled across the mini-mic hidden in the top button of her top.::

Mary, are you zhere?

::The voice unmistakably recognizable as the Doctors, though it came in slightly fuzzy. She responded with only the utmost respect, as per always.::

Yes, Father. I'm with Datho.

::She turned and smiled at Datho. Despite all the embarassment, she was having a load of fun.::

Good.

::The voice crackled back.::

It iz time. Bring Datho.

::It was almost as if this was a code word for Mary. "It is time." To an outside that might seem like some sort of funky code. But to Mary, it was as if she knew exactly what to do. She quickly stood up, fixed her clothes, adjusted her hair. She seemed nervous and yet excited at the same time.::

You hear that Datho? Its time! I cant believe it, its finally time! Woohooo! I'm gonna be a--

::She stopped herself mid sentence as she remembered they were in the middle something.::

Oh, you dont have to wear those if you dont want to, but lets go, your gonna love this!

::She extended her hand to help Datho up.::

Sunstrike looked puzzled.

"Time?" He took her hand and let himself be pulled up by the strong young girl. Her grin was infectious however, and Sun found his heart skipping a beat in reply.

Her skin was dry and somewhat flakey against his smoother palm, but again, this didn't seem to effect the tall man, he just held on as she took him out of the room, padding softly back to the elevator.

Sun didn't really have too many thoughts on what they were about to do. Right now he was half walking along the broad, steep wall of the Leviathan, feeling the breeze through his hair and the sunshine on his face...

Right now he was traveling along a tunnel, following after two others. His ribs ached for some reason, and he was very uneasy in the damp...

Right now...

Right now...

Etc.
PostPosted: Fri Aug 04, 2006 9:26 am

::Right now, Mary was happily leading Datho to the Mary elevator. The cold metal tiles pressed against his warm feet, the steady yet barely audible hum of machinations churning, echoing in the background. And just before reaching the elevator, the gently click of his room being blown shut by the air gushing through the heating vents.

The elevator seemed to be already ready for Marys call. She pushed the button and immediately a "ding", echoed out across the hall as the doors peeled open and their stood the shiny clean silvery elevator.

Mary skipped inside, with Datho in toe and soon and ever so excitedly pushed the button for the 86th floor. Otherwise known as the Doctors Office. It seemed everyone was excited, even the spiders danced a little extra along the walls of the shaft. The pitter patter of what sounded like drums in the distance was even faster than before. It seemed like everything was going just a bit faster to hurry to this momentus and yet unknown event.

Except Datho, which was totally understandable as the poor fellow had no idea what event he was speeding off too. But, its equally understandable why the look on his face might stand out, and why it might lead Mary to ask what might be a most challenging question...::

Whatcha thinkin' about?

"Mmm?" For someone that was trying extremely hard not to think, this indeed was a most perplexing question. In fact, Mary might wonder had she gotten through to him, considering how long his reply was in coming. His eyes were busy studying the white specs again. Finally he looked at her.

"I...don't know? Lots." Criptic, but pretty coherant all considering. "What...is happening, Mary? Is it..." He paused and tried to think back to the last time she was this excited...his eyes widened and he looked down at her.

"Is it your birthday?!" Sunstrike had really enjoyed that day. He'd been dressed up in make-up and clownclothes that day, it had been bright and happy, and the children had laughed...
PostPosted: Fri Aug 04, 2006 7:46 pm

::Mary's smile only widened with Datho's reaction. It wasnt what he said, as much as it was how he said it. It was almost entirely normal. The man standing beside her had definately made some progress from when he was hiding behind the Doctor just a few hours ago.

But something about what he said caused something of a kiddy giggle too.::

Not exactly Datho, but close...very close...

::She didnt say much beyond that, it was only a few moments from the top and she rode the wave of excitement until the elevator "ding!" broke her from her daydream.

The elevator doors slid open to reveal the Doctors prestigous office/laboratory. For a place in which so much work is constantly being done, the room itself seemed rather...empty. Unlike each of the other rooms in the tower this room had almost no light. Only the bright flashes of thunder seemed to cast lumination into the far corners.

Though there was an obvious cylindrical elevator shaft in the middle of the room, it seemed the rest of the room was without division. This floor covered an entire level of the tower, no extra rooms, no sections. Odder still was the fact that the entire outside wall of this room was made of glass. This provided the highest floor of the tower with a constant view of the frozen wasteland below.

Again, despite the size of the room, the cloud cover made the majority of the room dark. Of the few light sources, a couple stood out above the rest. Granted their were the various lights coming from what seemed to be thousands of devices. The floors, and walls seemed to be covered in wires which spread themselves out like vines. And those vines each seemed to be either coming or going from a single spot. It looked to be a single device shrouded in darkness. And yet an odd green glow came from the cracks in the shielding around the device. Whatever it was, the systems needed to power it, or monitor it seemed have to turned a good portion of this floor into a technological-technicolor-jungle. Secondly, there was a desk with a bright flourescent light above it shining down on ebony sheen of the beautiful piece of furniture. An array of papers and pens were scattered across its surface, it looked as if the desk was used for countless projects but few of them were ever fully completed.

Near the desk sat a very familar red haired man, and across from him stood a yet mentioned male. His hair was rich blue and in the specks of light that were cast on him, he seemed to be quite young. At the very most he was in his early 20's if not just his late teens. He seemed to be having a discussion of sorts with the Doctor.::

I-I'm just not sure they'll accept me back like this...

Vhy vould you vorry about zhem? You have a family here Kraden.

Yes but...I dont know if they'll let me--

Uuugghrrl.

::A low grumble from a large figure standing beside the desk stood as the signal from Marcel to the Doctor that Mary and Datho had arrived. The Doctor mumbled a quick...::

Ve'll talk about zhis later...

::Then stood up from his chair and moved meet Mary and Datho with cheers and smiles.::

Good, good, your here, ve can begin. Datho, how're you feeling?

::That was a test alone, obviously he was dressed that was a good sign. But when the Doctor last saw him, a question like this had been....challenging, at best.::

"Datho is...I am..."

It was still challenging, but not...as painful. Sun knew where the punishment lay waiting now, deep in the corners of his mind, he knew the right answers. He stopped trying to remember before and started concentrating on after.

Sun was allowed a little leeway when it came to remembering clothing/walking/and eating. Everyday things. But he couldn't go too far, unless it was thinking about things how they were, with just the doctor.

Bearing in mind he was a little in awe at where he was too, all the little flickering lights catching his eyes and making him twitch in differant directions. He could almost remember all of this, it was strange, but not frightening, and Mary's feelings were still infectious and bright, even in the dim room.

His eye's went back to the doctor and there was finally a little clarity there.

"I am...getting better, doctor." He bit his lip, but didn't look down at Mary to make sure this was right, just squeezed her hand hopefully.
PostPosted: Sat Aug 05, 2006 8:51 am

::The Doctor smiled and gently patted Datho's head. The very fact that he could spin those words together into a coherent sentence was a sign of improvement, when combined with the fact he admitted in that coherent sentence to feeling better...things were looking up. And on this most happiest of days, any bit of good news can only make it all the better.::

Good, very good Dazho.

::Mary gently squeezed Dathos hand in return, she felt his concern and while she was save with her father she wanted him to be too. But the Doctor continued.::

Your probably vondering vhy ve're here today.

::The Doctor made casual steps backwards toward the large greeb glowing machine at the core of this room, speaking as he did.::

Since you left Dazho, many things have gone...awry. An...accident, claimed my loving vife...and nearly claimed my children. Ve have survived. Yet still I have found an enemy in one. A being vith vhich I have always had...creative differences.

::He gestures toward the open windows, and the frozen landscape home to nothing but snow and a seemingly endless black sky.::

...He blacked out zhe sky believing me unvorzhy of his light. I am banished here for my hubris. I vished to create life, and end death, removing us from this vicious cycle...he disagreed vith my desires. He believed zhis exile vould keep my from zhe natural resources I needed...But in his boundless rage he has gifted me vith exactly vant I needed to complete my goal...

::A lightning bolt shatters against the tower causing it just to rumble slightly. The Doctors grin spreads from cheek to cheek.::

...Power. Lightning...zhe hammer of god...zhe fuel for my greatest creation...

::The Doctors stepping had taken him directly beside a control panel, and with a few flicks of some levers, and very dramatic button pressings, all topped off with one very large yank of a large lever the shielding around the green glowing device in the center began to lower.

Slowly, the device at the core of The Doctors plan was revealed. It seemed to be a large oval pod filled with a semi luminescent green liquid. And as to be expected thousands of devices penetrated the glass taking readings and feeding the green liquid allowing it to ripple just slightly.

Strangely, though it was mostly hidden by the thick green glowing liquid, their seemed to be a shape, or a figure of some sort floating directly int the center of the pod.::

Behold! Zhe tube is filled with Necrogen. A chemical of my own design, my children vill recognize it as zhe substance zhat keeps zheir parts "fresh". Zhat being only a fraction of purpose, Necrogen supplies zhe base chemicals needed to keep life, in zhings that vould already be dead.

::The Doctor made his way to the giant green pod and gently placed his hand on the glass.::

But...if somezhing is given life, and is properly soaked in necrogen, it vill able to keep said life until...it is able to produce its own! In effect it vill turn something zhat should be dead, into a living, breathing...being...VITHOUT God's permission.

::Another lightning bolt crashes against the tower. Only causing a power laugh to burst forth from the Doctor. Today he spoke with such passion as opposed to laid back voice in which he normally conversed. It was as if he was bottling up his emotions of years and now finally decided to set them free in this, his one passion.::

Zhat is the vorst he can do to stop me...?! Pathetic! Mary!

::As he calls her name his finger points directly at her.::

Man zhe life flux systems, keep zhe flow steady and constant, be ready to shock the system on my command. Ve get one chance. Marcel!

::His finger pointed at Marcel and then to an alternate device with a very large crank. Needless to say as he spoke to Marcel, Mary moved. She would never dream of keeping her father waiting, and so after gently patting Datho's hand she ran to her necessary post.::

Vhen ve blow zhe pover ve fill need to keep Necrogen flow into the chamber, be ready my son.

::And finally, he patted a spot on his lab coat.::

Maxvell, are you ready?

Affirmative.

::An emotionless voice crackled back.::

To you, Datho, Kraden...sit back and enjoy...ve are about to make history. Ve are about to prove wrong the system of life and death that has existed for millenia! Behold history in the making...Death be afraid...

Sunstrike blinked in surprise as activity lit up the room, his hand left cold as Mary vacated the spot next to him to follow her father's orders.

A lot of what the doctor was saying sank in, but it was hard for him to process what it all meant. He backed away a little bit and watched as the two, looking sideways at the other man he was next to.

When he was caught looking, he jumped obviously and looked away, blushing. Kraden reminded him...of something...

Sunstrike's head began to hurt and his hand rose to rub one of his eyes, trying to ease the pain. Everything that was going on reminded him too much of things he wasn't suppose to remember...
PostPosted: Wed Aug 09, 2006 10:28 am

::Should he not jump or run, Datho would feel a cold metal touch to his shoulder. It'd feel slightly like one of the machines which made this place reached and touched him. A turn in the direction of the grasping object would reveal the...grotesqueness of its design. It was less and arm as much as it was a last minute and emergency fusion of flesh and machine. Wires twirled around viens, and bits of metal bolt and piston could be seeming moving just beneath the strands of skin which tried to meld themselves to the metal. It was as if the man and machine were trying to become one, but failing horribly.

And yet this monstrosity of a limb wasnt attached to some horrid monster. It was attached to a boy who was reaching out to Sunstrike. The boy had bright blue hair and matching eyes despite the slightly discolored claw mark across his face, he was smiling.

The boy was shirtless, and slightly muscularly built. But his torso was somewhat marred by the metal patch which seemed to be literally drilled and bolted with four visible bolts into his side. Skin had tried healing over the metal, which seems most odd.

Needless to say, the boy of at most 18 years of age...was a mess. Though Kraden honestly didnt care to much for how he looked either. Yet, as monstrous as he felt, he did reach his new arm out to touch Sunstrike shoulder and gently, if not sheepishly ask.::

Are you alright?

: biggrin atho looked a bit distant, the boy was just concerned. He gently pulled his hand back, physical contact with that...thing, was still very uncomfortable to him.::

They're eccentric, but they mean well...I think...

--

::The Doctor on the other hand moved to make final preparations. Countless switches were flicked and blinking lights hurried changed colors and positions in a beatiful dance. He moved like a madman, a man driven by obsession and desire. A man would found intense meaning in every stroke of the keyboard, or flick of a switch. A man who seemed to feel that every passing second now, could finally bring him step by step to acheiving that which he wanted so badly he could taste. His lifes dream was at his fingertips.::

Heighman capacitor engaged.

::He quickly moved to another control panel.::

Zhelinger at 98%...

::He immediately turned a dial and twisted an opposing switch.::

99%...

::He repeated the process.::

100%!

::Without delay he was onto the next device. A large rumbling could be heard as several machines burst into motion. Churning and pumping, pushing and pulling.::

Necrogen saturation iz complete. Ve are almost there...

::Finally, he moved to the pod itself, kneeling directly before it he pulled open a panel in the floor board and began turning a nob of some sort.::

Energen flux iz finally past zhe 3rd barrier...the 4th...the 5th..the 6th...

::For each bypassed barrier, the rumbling grew louder, and louder, until eventually the floorboards began to shake. Finally he stood up, for a moment everything slowed for the man. This in his mind, was destiny.::

...it is time.

::He said. Marys hands could be seen tightening as could Marcels. 18 eyes were on the Doctor waiting for a signal, and yet the man seemed to pause. His eyes were locked on the pod and whatever thing sat within it. The bright green glow of the necogren painted his body in his own glory, and yet he was silent. One had to wonder if in this moment, he was praying...? And if so...who was he praying to? Had he become so large as to pray to himself?

The device churned even louder, every light in the room seemed to be flickering on and off as this massive tower bent to one mans will. Its everything being put forth for just this moment. The shaking had grown so powerful it almost seemed as if it would bring this massive structure to the ground. If things continued as they were growing, surely they'd all be killed! The pod itself had began to slightly quiver as the necogren seemed to bubble viciously.::

...NOW!!

::His voice bellowed a command and not a one of his children hesitated. Three loud pops were heard as well as the sound of a massive energy flux, something equivalent to the sort of crash you hear when a tidal wave breaks on the shore.

And then there was silence.

For a moment even the storm outside stopped churning and lightning ceased its crashing. The tower was silent, and the lab was pitch black. Nothing dared stir. Not a sound was heard not even breathing.

The silence itself seemed eternal, it was the sort of moment that made you pause, and in the blackness try to see your own hand in front of your face, but fail. A failure which causes you to simply wonder "Am I still alive?".

Suddenly, in the distance not a few feet away the silence was broken. There was a wet pop, like the lid being twisted off a sealed bottom. And a hiss of release. And yet in the blackness no one could see what it caused it. But an answer came as one all to familar sound filled the air.::

Waaaaaaaaaaaa!!

::To anyone that has ever seen or heard one. Or moreso to anyone that has ever been one. There wasnt a soul, that wouldnt recognize the sound of a baby crying. Slowly, after a few wails, the lights dimmed into view around the pod. The visage of the Doctor on his knees, with his lab coat stained in green splatter and small pale crying baby held adoringly in his arms, could be seen. He held it as if he was holding the very reason he still existed. For a moment, the baby looked up directly into the Doctors eyes, the deep dark endless green of its eyes matching his almost exactly. The baby was flawless, not a cut or a seam, or a single stitch anywhere. And if you looked close enough, one could swear tears were streaming down the mans face as he comforted the small child, slowly quieting its crying.::

Its ok my son....its all going to be ok now...

Sunstrike squeaked in surprise when Kraden touched him, moving around, and blinking wide-eyed at the other person, head tilted as those eyes took in something new.

He didn't panic this time, maybe from the influence of the doctor and Mary being so obviously comfortable with the boy.

"Are you alright?"

Sunstrike blinked and tilted his head the other way,

"They're eccentric, but they mean well..."

before reaching forward quickly and putting his fingers gently on the metal plate in Kraden's chest with a tink.

"I think..."

"...if you only had a heart..." That...was an abstract sentance. What the hell was his mind remembering now? It didn't help that he said, "If I only had a brain..." and giggled next.

Something was obviously amusing about that.

Then the focus was drawn back to the flurry of movement around the machines and Sun's attention was drawn to the capsule as if seeing it for the first time.

His ears lowered at the noise and he took a step back. Then everything went horribly dark. With a whimper his hand reached out and found Kradens metallic one in a need for a companion.

Something was wrong with this, very wrong, although creation should have been beautiful, should have been a relief that something so alive managed to awaken in the darkness.

It didn't relieve Sun, it was like a massive weight upon his broken soul.

Kraden would comically find the strange man hiding behind him when the lights brought up the glow around the doctor, trying not to look at anything but his feet, and maintaining a grip on that cold metallic hand.

"...if you only had a heart..." That...was an abstract sentance. What the hell was his mind remembering now? It didn't help that he said, "If I only had a brain..."

::For a moment Kraden was quite a bit surprised. He wanted to recoil before the man truly got a better view of him, but in the end he didnt. This man was unique. Datho didnt seem the least bit put off! Infact he seemed to be a bit amused. What was he...? Kraden had gotten used to oddness in his time here at the Black Hospital, but Datho while unique and in appearanced didnt seem as...dark, as everyone else here.

He chuckled a bit at the comment, despite his nervousness he could never squash his sense of humor. And for some reason that touch against his metal plate tickled a bit, perhaps it was just a bit of cold metal touching the flesh beneath.

With the thumping and whirring of machinery Kraden found himself questioning his own statement, did they really mean well? He wanted to duck behind the desk, but something told him that should things go wrong that really wouldnt be enough to help. So instead he ducked behind the rather large chair for the desk...much better.

As Datho's hand found his, it sent a tingle through the few remaining bits of flesh on the hand, and instinctively he clasped his hand tight around Datho's it wasnt painful, but it was secure none the less. Something just seemed entirely off about this...fear and dreadful dark should not accompany the miracle of life.

The shrill sound of a babies cry seemed more unsettling than relaxing. As the lights came on Kraden had scooted himself down near the bottom of the chair, with his head poking out from around the arm of the chair. His grip hadnt loosened, infact he found himself taking comfort in the fact that he wasnt the only person scared here.

Despite the fact Mary and Marcel had moved closer to inspect the baby. And a call re-assured M4X that the procedure was a success. But Kraden found himself wondering what was next? Were they going to be made into food for this creature? Was their usefulness at an end? What happened now?::

I...I...hope they mean well...

::He slowly turned back toward Datho, with a half afraid and yet half heroic look on his face as he spoke.::

...Ar-are you ok?

Sunstrike continued to stare down, willing himself not to think, trying to empty his mind before the pain started.

Things weren't supposed to be like this, the whisper was coy and intelligent moving through his mind like a vine strangles a tree. They were supposed to be a lot differant, in fact, at least from Sun's perspective.

"People aren't supposed to make people like that..." The murmur was quiet, and even Kraden might have been struggling to hear.

Nonononono...it drove Sun quietly to his knees behind Kraden, as he had to tear his own mind to shreds again. One eye closed in pain for a moment, while the other squinted at the frightened blue eye that was asking him the question. He focused on it, the red narrowing to a pinpoint in order for him to do so, before drawing a hasty breath.

"We should...con...con..." He looked at the doctor and the baby and motioned towards the small group cooing over the small form. "We should have a...look?" That hadn't been quite what he wanted to say, but it was closer to the truth.

Shakily he got up and swallowed, letting his hand slip from Kradens. He went the safe route, sidling up behind Mary and peeking over, one ear twitching in nervousness.
