Something was watching in the sand, it didn't want to fight right now, and just wanted to watch the fight.

So Claire didn't go back or fall to the ground, what did it matter? Ruuvan was able to use her body as a vertical platform to push himself back, jumping at the same time to add to the distance he could make up, the whole thing putting him about seven feet from the Valkyre.
Then, with both his swords back by his sides and ready for her new attack, Ruuvan waited in the courched stance for whatever she was going to throw at him. Just as before, he mustered up another bout of light magic should the need arise, but this time it wasn't visible and would be a surprise if need be.

And as she came within range, she swung her blade from behind her, making it curve artfully from right to left. Immediately after, she swung upwards with that same single-handed grip, adjusting her position slightly to make her blade cut from Ruuvan's left hip to his right shoulder in a reverse diagonal slash.
Following that, she made an attempt to slice downwards from that position, using both hands in order to cut at Ruuvan's head, the blade aiming to cut downwards and through his body. For the final part of the sequence, she performed a hop into the air, turning her body to add force to the strike as she cut downwards again, slasing at Ruuvan's right shoulder with one hand.
Now, the part that was mentioned before about her being able to lift a fifty pound sword over and over again came to the forefront. She performed these four cuts smoothly and in sequence, and yet moved in such a blur that there was no doubt that if any one of these attacks hit, they would hit hard and fast.

Adrienne had been lost in the cursed desert for quite awhile, she had long lost count of the days. It was hard to not get lost when you were blind. She hated wearing that damned blindfold, unable to look upon the beauty of the world around her, all she could see was the thick black cloth that blocked out even the bright light of the sun.
She could feel the sun though, the hot desert sun soaking into her skin, warming her cold blood. Adrienne could never survive in a colder climate, she would be practically catatonic in such weather. That was why she was glad she had gotten lost in the desert.
Adri was wearing her normal type of a clothing, a black belly dancer's outfit, the top of the veil forming a blindfold that protected others from her gaze. The scales around her neck glistened in the sun, though those around her ankles and wrists did not, they were covered by the sheer material of her outfit. Her feet were bare, but she didn't mind, the heat of the sand felt as good as the sun's rays.
The odd thing about Adri, other than the scales, was that she was in chains. There were four silver cuffs, made thin and light, one around each ankle and wrist. Thin silver chains connected the wrist cuffs and the ankle cuffs, while another chain connected the two chains. It was quite an unusual sight to see a person wandering in the desert with chains hanging from her.
Then again, it wasn't as strange as one might think. Adri had been travelling through the desert with a slave trader, heading to market. The caravan had been attacked and Adrienne had fled from the battle, she was not a fighter and did not enjoy battle. Everyone was so absorbed in the fighting, that they had not noticed the basilisk slip off.

"Saa..."
He exhaled his breath, not showing up in the schorching heat of the desert.
"Of all places to train...I had to pick the desert..."
True, the desert was a very unconferatable place to be...but it also provided Kuro with a test to put his body through. He had no idea where he was at the present time...but he had been walking for quite sometime since he had gotten off of the train. There was an errie silence about the area...how the wind rushed accross the sand, and how nothing seemed to make a noise..not even his own feet accross the soft sand.
At least he was wearing white though.
Just as he was reaching for his cantine, he stopped and shifted his head to the left.
"Who's there...?"
This question was directed at the woman, but the sun was blazing over head...and it's not like he could really see her.

"...I have sand in my shoes"
Sweat dripped down the man's forehead, the heat practically unbearable. It didn't help that he wore all black, either. The one bit of relief he got was that his Glasses allowed him to change what sort of vision he had. Right now, it was defniatly one that would block out the sun.
The heat was getting to be too much for him, and he would be considerably burned if he took off his shirt. So he took his tome and flipped it to one of the many tabs it contained.
"Su'aco d' Erthe"
The winds around him quickly became chilling winds of the northern tundra.
"Ttt-ttt-ttoo co-cold"
He flipped the page, as it was apparent he cast the wrong spell.
"Aeros d' A'trium"
Now a cool autumn breeze conforted him as he travelled through the unhospitable terrain. He would have to keep up the pace if he were to find the "Black Judge" the Adventurers guild told him about.

Adrienne stopped in her tracks, turning her head to look at the man who had spoken to her, not that she could actually see him. At last, another lifeform. "I am Adrienne Dessssdemona..." The 's' came out in a low hiss
Alert and wary of danger, Adri made her way over to the young man. She could smell and taste him as her serpentine tounge darted out into the air, but it wasn't his smell or taste that she was interested in, she was trying to find out if he had any food or water on him.

Weird...
"You arn't human are you..."
He was sitting on the ground, but he was now standing. He turned to face her and lifted a hand up in front of her face. His hand moved around a bit before he lowered it to his side.
He smiled.
"...Are you blind?"

"No, I am not blind. I keep mysssself blindfolded for the ssssake of thosssse around me. The gaze of a basssilisssk is not something that one wishessss to experience..." She cocked her to the side slightly, her tongue flicking out every now and then to smell the air and in turn the man. She could not smell food or water on him.
Adri dropped to the ground and sat down indian style, the chains that bound her rattling as she did so. She was a little tired, considering she had been walking for most of the day and that it had been a couple of days since she had last eaten. Many reptiles were capable of going many days without food, but she was not.

The boy slid down a dune as he tried to walk up it.
"Damn these sands."
He had been trying to get up the dune for a good half an hour, but everytime he neared the top the sands would shift and carry him downward. If he kept this up, eventually the dune would be rather short and wide.
He made another attempt, and failed like the thimes before. This time riding down on his back.
"Oh for God's sake..."
Going around would take too long, and windblasts would likely create a sandstorm. Instead of being stupid with his magic (like he normally was), he did something different. He started his climb again, flipped to a particular page. As the cured sands started to shift again, he chanted.
"Ilkalik Selg'tarn"
The spell worked, and the sands were locked in place. Unfortunatly, they worked too well. The sands had went around his feet, and he was trapped in position. He couldn't so much as move a single grain of sand.
He frowned. He would have to wait a few minutes before the spell wore off. When he was able to move the sands were still bound enough that they didn't slide. He went over the hump only to...
...trip and tumble down the other side, towards the couple.

"So tell me then..."
He also sat down as he heard her sit.
"...Does the individual you look at have to make eye contact with you? Does the person have to see your's eyes with his or her own?"
He pulled out a cantine of water as he said this and handed it to her. She was breathing hard...it seemed like she was in need of at least water.

"My gazzzze paralyzessss... until you look me directly in the eye... onccccce you've looked into my eyessssss with your own, your body and everything within it becomesssss like ssssstone..."
She didn't see him move, but she heard him and she could smell and taste the water from the cantine. So he did have provisions. Adri nodded to the man, "Thank you..." She lifted the sheer material of her veil that covered everything below her eyes and tucked it gently into the top of her blindfold so that she could drink without worrying about it. Tilting her head back, she opened the cantine, holding it up and tipping it so that the water poured out and into her mouth without touching her lips.
She finished quenching her thirst and as she was handing the cantine back to the young man, she suddenly jerked her head towards the sound of something heavy moving through the sand of the dune towards them. Her toungue flicked out into the air, whatever it was that was coming towards them smelled human.

"I see...we'll then around just me you have no need to wear a band to shield your eyes..."
He paused.
"I am blind..."
THUD THUD PTATATATATATAAAAATATATA....
What the...running feet? No, falling
He stood and turned torward the direction of the sound. He wouldn't take a chance.
As he stood there, the sand began to shift around the base of his feet. Some of the sand would rise in a spiral about him. He extended his left hand torward the direction of the sound and muttered a few words.
"Hajime...Dorai...Suga...Complete"
- Wind of movement constriction -
His hand flexed outwards. An energy, invisible to the eye, travelled out. Coincidently, this energy could be spotted through the sand as it made a trail torwards the man falling. It was a technique more commonly applied in fighting, the downside is that it could be spotted easily.
This however was not combat...so it didn't matter.
The resulting factor from this technique would be a suspension of the man's movement in air. A light colored bubble around the individual. This bubble would bring the individual over to them safetly, poping once it reached its destination. In theory..of course.

"Ooofff Owww oww oww owwwww owww oww oww..... what the hell?"
He was in an awkward position, suspended in the air by a bubble. A moving bubble, to be exact. He watched as he was brought towards the pair, unaware what was going on and that...
POP
The bubble would break drop him back into the sand. He quickly stood up and brushed off, slightly flushed. It was a surprize that he ran into anyone in the middle of no where, and even more surprizing that any of them had powers. He spoke, not directly speaking to either of them.
"Err... thanks."

Adri remained silent, she had not helped the man, but obviously, the other man had. Interesting that she was now in the presence of two people, in the middle of the desert.
