Smirking, she began to tread water in slow circles around him, watching him out of eyes the color of the water. He had no idea, she realized. And that made her feel in control of the situation again.
"Like the you snore...and the way you only eat corn dogs with ketchup...the way you rub the back of your neck when you're nervous or embarrassed..."
She laughed quietly.
"The way you smile at me when you think I'm not looking."

She laughed again.
"See, I've embarrassed you..."
Watching him with a smile, she set her feet on the bottom of the shallow end, standing up and shaking the water out of her hair.
"You men are too easy."

He was too close again, she found herself thinking even as she reached out automaticaly to brush a stray strand of damp hair from his eyes. Her tone was quiet, her hand unsteady as she pulled it away.
"I remember everything, Hiro. I can't forget, no matter how hard I try."
Shaken again, Tarma turned from him to head for the steps; it was definately time to leave. She obviously couldn't stay here with him. It had been madness to think she could.

Her eyes slid closed at the touch, though her expression filled with pain; her heart was trembling on the edge of something she just wasnt ready for, and Tarma had no idea what she was supposed to do about it. She could take down the toughest sonuvabitch in a brawl, but this one man made her feel things that she had no idea how to defend herself against. Gently, she removed his hand.
"I can't survive you a second time Hiro."

She closed her eyes tight, shaking her head in denial; whether she was denying him, or herself, she had no idea. Some how though, she couldn't bring herself to push him away like her comon sense told her to.

The gesture broke her, and her body melted into his as he pulled her close for a kiss. Even as he mind raged that his promises meant nothing, she was wrapping her arms around him, fingers twining in his hair as she clung to him.

With a strangled moan, she pushed away from him, shaking her head. Her eyes were wide, and she had that deer-in-headlights look all over her face.
"Stop...this isn't right..."
