ZOMG!!!! I'm sorry! I haven't posted in forever! I forgot I was in a guild. sweatdrop
Lotusleaf had returned to the camp after spending a deal of time in the forest quieting his thoughts. He looked around at his clan. They looked half dead. Guilt rose in his chest. He should be helping his clan, not lulling over what had been lost. He mentaly kicked himself as he padded into the clearing, spotting Dapplestream. 'She looks just like how I felt.' he thought. Softly, almost hesitantly, he paced over to her.
"You alright?" he mewed, concerned that his clanmate was still grieving.

Rainstream came back, carrying a mouse. She thought about how she caught her first mouse with Whitewind. Shaking her head softly, she dropped the mouse on the fresh-kill pile.

Returning back to camp, Whisperfoot looked over to spy Rainstream by the fresh-kill pile. Padding over, she asked, "hey, is everything ok?"

Rainstream looked up at Whisperfoot and nodded. "Yeah I'm fine" she mewed. Snap out of it Rainstream she thought to herself.

Dapplestream looked at Lotusleaf for a moment. Her ears growing hot with embarressment.
What's wrong with me? i shouldn't be acting like such a mouse-brain.
She looked down unable to face him directly. "I...I'm sorry...I'll be alright really...." She gave him a fake smile, then took a vole from the fresh-kill pile. "Would you like to share one with me Lotusleaf?" She realized her question might of been too direct, and then hopefully what she said didn't make him refuse her offer.

Lotusleaf nods to her, knowing that she needed the support as much as he did. He was trying to act wise like his mentor, but of couse right when he was about to say something, his stomach growled, LOUDLY. His fur grows hot with embarassment and he looks down, paws shuffling.

Dapplestream smiled and gave out a purr of amusement. She took the vole in her mouth and went to the warriors' den with him. "it's alright Lotusleaf, you don't have to overexert yourself like this. you still need to eat to keep your strength up to help our clan. every cat needs a break once in awhile." She looked at him with her blue eyes full of warmth. For some reason she felt quite comfortable around Lotusleaf, but she did not understand why. Feeling her ears grow hot with embarressment, she looked away from him as she sat down to share the vole with him.

Lotusleaf doesn't mew anything besides a small,'Alright', still embarrassed by his impatient appetite. He ate in silence for a few moments, then, after his stomach started to fill up, he unknowingly started to purr as he finished the last of his share, warm, comfy and content now that his hunger was satisfied, enjoying Dapplestream's company in his new quiet way.

Dapplestream looked down as Lotusleaf was finishing the last bit of his vole. She sighed. Why am i acting like this? i..i know this is what's best for the clan but i...i just... "um...Lotusleaf....im....sorry about before. About not being honest with you....i guess...i'm still bothered by whitewind's death." She looked down and then turned to face him her blue eyes full of concern. "Please don't push yourself too hard alright? I...I...was worried about you."

Lotusleaf looks at her, conflicting emotions in his eyes. First confusion, then concern, saddness, then comfort. He touches his tail to her side supportingly.
"I wont." he says, a mix of pride and determination.
Slowly, he gets up, stretches, then turns to Dapplestream.
"Want to go on patrol with me?"

Dapplestream looked at him trying to read the expression in his eyes, but decided it was best not to. She felt her fur grow hot with embarrassment as his tail touched her fur. it was quite soothing, and she was more comfortable with him than any other tom in the clan. She felt safe with him. She got up onto her paws. "Alright. I'd love to go. I haven't been on patrol in awhile." She gave out a mrrow of amusement. "besides we need to make sure hte clan stays strong. " She walked right next to him the space between them barely a rail length apart. She faced forward feeling nervous next to Lotusleaf.

Lotusleaf gives her a small grin and nods his agreement.
"I have been mourning long enough. We need to go on......for us and them."
His eyes dull a moment, recalling his two dead clanmates, then clear agian with new vigor.
"Let's go. We dont need another clan taking advantage of us."

She nodded at his determination. "You're right. we won't let something like this happen again....Not again. I'm going to do everything i can to protect our clan mates......a..and i'll do my best to protect you as well Lotusleaf." She looked away from him embarrassed by what she said, thinking it sounded foolish. She looked around the border to see if there were any enemeies nearby. Her ears pricked up in alert.
