Not the way I use 'em, I put them up so they can barely reach a squad on Turn 1 yet are soon close enough to fire their bolters also, plus, bolters take unwanted casualties.

yes but...ten devastators when only 4 can have heavy weapons is a huge waste of points. my 5 man squad is 200 points, with 5 more guys, i could field another tactical squad for those points.

Try getting a normal speed squad in CC with them then.

Actually, under 3rd ed rules, blood angels can have 0-1 NORMAL space marine scout squad. which means 0-10 snipers in your whole army.

untill the codex for BT comes out the rules for scouts are as such. you can have five scouts in a regular tactical squad, but you may not have you own squad of scouts, they must be accompanied by a tactical squad. which i think kinda sucks...

General VonCarstein i wanna know when the new BA codex comes out, i read some FAQ from the GW website and so far, nothing major enough to make me want to stop playing blood angels! I'm guessing that its just going to be updated for the new codex- probably better options for Furioso dreads (Venerable/Death Co. upgrade?), Whirlwinds with Castellan missiles, regular Dreads as HS (so you can take up to six dreads total eek ), Tycho removed (he's dead...), modifications on Chaplains and Librarians, updated Overcharged Engines, stuff like that.

i know theyre taking out tycho( gonk ) but the furioso can have all the same upgrades as a regular dread. and why would they change it? the furioso rules already! adn they did fix the OCE already, if you roll a one for its extra move, the vehicle becomes immobilised.

That would be nifty, wouldn't it? Also maybe Death Company Dreads as a 0-1 Elites choice. Not that its going to happen, but its nice to dream about (or have nightmes about in my case).

actually, for the cost of a REGULAR dread, (about 145 pts) you can take moriar the chosen. he IS a death company dreadnought! and yes, 2 meltaguns would be nifty, but why get rid of one for another storm bolter? id much rather have 1 SB and 1 meltagun.

I don't think that Tycho will disappear from codex BA. Lysander of the Imperial Fists is considered to be dead and yet his profile made it into the new SM codex. And Tycho is much more... revered character.
