darknesscalls101 I use to be in pit, and hated it. Now I'm in color gaurd. I enjoy wacking the low brass with my flag, they never play in time. xp Aww, that makes me sad! I play low brass, but I know what you mean with them keeping time. Ahhh!! Dragging! At least, that's what they do in my band...

I er, taught myself how to play bassoon. My band director has no idea how to play it, but he said he needed a new bassoonist... I guess I'm good at teaching myself if not anyone else, because I now know the full range of it! Hoo-rah.

I play bassoon as well. Last year I was in pit, but this year I'm in guard. It's lots of fun, except when our instructor yells, which is all the time.

i play bassoon so during games i hold the banner rolleyes its easy but i have to be in front. and 1 time i think i messed up !! redface

I play bassoon also. I chose guard as my marching doom's day delight. I pretty much hate it, but it gets me to concert season. It's too drama for me, the worst kind. sweatdrop

I am a bassoonist.
I guess I'm doing pretty well. When I auditioned for top band, I had only been playing for three months, but I only got 60 points lower than the top band bassoonist who had been playing for nearly a year.
Also, I'm doing All-State this year, and I taught myself to tune without a tuner. (I used the tuner to memorize my pitches, though.)
I will probably play tenor sax during marching, but I may do piccolo.

I'm a bassoonist also. Been playing the bassoon since the 7th grade and I'm a sophomore now.
I play trombone during marching season. I swear, my trombone is out to get me. xD

I play oboe also. I switched from flute (which I marched) last year, and I'm the first chair in our top band.
This year, during marching season, I was in pit and played Synth (which meant handling the electronics) although I may be on mallet line next year.

I play oboe too 4laugh I march with the alto sax though. I like higher-level music because in junior high they just stick oboes with the flute part. In old hard stuff like Lohengrin and Finlandia the oboes get solos and duets and we don't have to act like we are flutes! not that there's anything wrong with them.
