During the short time, Vaan was sitting in his Commander's seat, with Ashe and Varl on his sides, and Seifer standing guard, all rather amused.

"This Kenet fellow is rather stupid," Varl said.

For once, Vaan agreed with his cousin.

Seifer ran in saying that they were being hailed again.

"What issues would these be?" Vaan asked.

Corellia.
Supposedly this vibrant core world, home to many daring outlaws and spacers, was his homeworld as well.

Link looked about the crowded clean streets of Corellia and gave a shrug.
There was no connection here, no sense of home.
It was just as well. He had no need nor want of a Home.

Earlier in the day he had made planet fall, aquired his meager pay, and left the freighter and it's crew to resume their buisness.

Coronet was a beautiful city, especially to Link, who had lived his life primarily in the rim. The entire city teamed with life and the living force as it's citizens went about their daily lives.

As Link wandered down the city walks, he became aware of something tailing him, a persistant presence that seemed focused upon him.
He stopped and turned around.

A Corellian Security Officer stood there, his hands on his belt and a disaproving glare set in his expression.

Link gave a sheepish grin. "Good after noon, Officer."

"You got a liscense for that Vibrosword, son?" The man asked.

"Oro?!"

"Its against city ordinance in Coronat for civilians to carry weapons. And a
Nerf-sticker like that shouldnt be legal anywhere."

Link gave a nervous laugh as he unbuckled his sword. "The traveler is greatly sorry about this. He meant no harm. Having arrived just today on planet, he begs forgiveness for not knowing the local laws. But you can believe him when he says..." Link passed his hand before the man's eyes. "You will recieve no trouble from this one."

The CorSec officer didnt blink.
"I will recieve no trouble from you..."

"He may go about his buisness."

"You may go about your buisness."

Link bowed humbly as he reattached his sword. "This one thanks you humbly from the bottom of his heart."

The officer blinked and looked about in a daze. "Wait... what?"

"It is so generous of the Corellian Security force to be so leniant on new travelers. Perchance you could also point the way to the Corellian Space Museum?"

The man nodded slowly and pointed down a street, giving the requested directions.

Link bowed humbly again, thanked the man and the two parted ways.

Halfway down the street the CorSec agent had a sudden realization.
"Hey wait a minute!" he shouted as he turned to face Link.

Unfortunately for the Officer, Link was long gone.

Elladan didn't downright tell him. "I don't care what your opinion of me is, but you would do our race a disservice by not heeding what I have to say. I may seem ignorant, even young by our standards, and please forgive me for my lack of contact and relations, but I have enough insentive to gain your attention, if you'll listen."

He motioned around his bridge. "If you're familiar with the Empire, I daresay you know the model of warship I'm in?" From afar, it looked like... an Acclamantor? Amazing as it was to see one of these relics alive, it was one, and it was diminuative to the Chiss Stardestroyer. One could only wonder how it was kept in such apparantly good shape.

The third day proved easier than the first two. Ferno needed not to take over an entire patrol ship to destroy it, then change the records of the entire company, nor sneak onboard and sabotage enough parts to make the engines explode.

Day three brought about the tackling of nearly fifty transports carrying needed supplies, and make sure that such good resources did not go to waste.

Not a simple task, figuring that only one person could be on one ship at a time. Ferno did not have to worry as much though. It would be a terrible drain on his energy, forcing people to forget the details of the inspection the Slayer apparantly was pulling. Random cargo check, and because it was all legit on much slower ships, the convoy could not help but stay put. Fifty other transports, all organized days in advanced, pulled up aside the freighters, and exchanged cargo. The process took nearly 20 hours, a feat which even Ferno had trouble keeping up.

Several times Ferno had to let go for a couple minutes. Approximentally 25 times did the slayer have to let two make the jump, with the "seal of approval" on the "authenticity" of the freighters shipments. Breaucracy would have to work out the true details later, inventing new ordinances for the one week they'd be in effect for Bestine. But for now, the only thing that mattered was the transfers.

Tomorrow would bring about the last of the preparations, and in two days, Bestine would fall.

"Greetings, representatives of Mon Calamari," Rusty initially greeted a pair of Mon Calamari, with Freya trailing behind him. "We are here on behalf of Veron Starsinger the Fourth."
The Mon Cal pair looked back and forth to each other, and then to Rusty and Freya. "Ackbar's eyes! I'd never thought that I'd see an R5 unit in this day and age,"
The other agreed. "Indeed - much less in a protcol capacity!"
"It's one of my other program functions, despite my admitedly odd appearance," chimed in Rusty. "I am R5-T1, though you may call me 'Rusty',"
Freya then chimed in. "Like, totally! So, your man said something about news about my father." she said. "Let's hear it,"
"You are Lady Starsinger, correct?"
"Like, yeah. Though they totally used to call my mom that until she ran off somewhere,"
The two Mon Cal men looked to each other, deciding whom would be the one to break the news. "Let's go inside." one of them suggested a moment later. Looking to Freya sympathetically, he added, "You may wish to be sitting down,"
PostPosted: Sat Sep 09, 2006 3:04 pm

Gorwooken grunted and stood where he was. Even with the history the Mon Calamari had, it could still be a trap. Also, he wanted to know what was going on sooner rather than later. When someone said you should be sitting down to hear something, it was seldom good. He said to the Calamarian.

"You have a point," the Mon Cal said to Gorwooken. "Lady Starsinger, shall we tell you, then?"
"Like, get on with it!" Freya demanded.
The Mon Cal looked sadly to Freya. "Lady Starsinger, I am so sorry," he said. "Reports from Naboo say that Lord Starsinger has passed on,"
"He passed away in his sleep, according to Imperial autopsy,"

(( time to borrow/paraphrase another line from the OT! ))

"No!" Freya screamed "No! It's not true! That's totally impossible!"
"Mistress Freya, please!" Rusty chimed in calmly. "I suspect that these fellows have no reason to lie,"
A voice came from behind the two Mon Cals. "You are correct, Rusty. Never thought I'd see you here,"
"Who are you?" Rusty queried, noting a human boy of about thirteen standard years, and yet another Mon Cal, both clad in the vestments of the Jedi.
"I apologize," said the boy. "It has been eight standard years, after all."
Something clicked within both Rusty and Freya.
"L-like ... Gunther?" Freya said, wiping a stray tear. "Is that totally you?"
The Jedi boy bowed.
"We thought, like, you totally died at Ossus!" Freya yelped.
"And, we almost did," chimed in the Mon Cal Jedi. "We barely managed to escape the attack,"
"Thankfully, the Sith seemed to be focusing on specific persons, notably Cade and Kol Skywalker." the Jedi said, with the quiet calm that was the hallmark of a Master. "And, the surviviors of Ossus have been on the run and underground ever since that day,"
"Master Kalnar is correct," Gunther chimed in.
"Can we, like, totally go in now?" Freya asked, barely able to contain tears and sobs.
"Mayhaps that would be prudent," Rusty agreed.

Although he did not show his sorrow as Freya had, Gorwooken was struck as deeply as she was by the news. He had... failed in his life debt. Now there was no one left to protect but Freya... he had failed. Looking to Gunther, he remembered the boy who had left the Starsinger household when he was just five years old. He hardly remembered the boy. He said to anyone within hearing distance. He didn't care who it was, as long as it wasn't him.

With a flash two small rusty brown starfighters dropped out of hyperspace deep within the Csilla no-jump zone. Their appearance set off alarms across a thousand different consoles in a hundred different control stations. From stations and fighter bases scattered across and above the world, swarms of chiss fighters screamed out of the hangers, their sensors actively pinging to paint the two targeted fighters.

At one of the Chiss command posts General Mitth’ark’rasa studied the displays, “How long ago did they appear?”

“Five standard minutes, sir,” The sensor operator responded, “We have a partial mach on the sensor profile, but that’s of a vessel the CEDF picked up at the edge of sensor range some twenty years ago, classified as unknown.”

The General snorted to himself, “Alright, I guess you could call this a first contact scenario.”

* * *

Behind the controls of one the fighters Revak Valar clicked his claws against the control sticks. Inside his helmet he sneezed, “Son of a Rakata!”

The helmet was uncomfortable with its fully sealed shell over his face, still it was better then relying on the life support of his fighter for a flight as long as this. Behind him the second Kar Asp starfighter slid into a covering position.

Inside his helmet a voice spoke, “They’re at ten-thousand kilometers now Revak.”

“Roger Calra, they still haven’t hailed us,” Revak replied as he used the force to command the ship to begin displaying the sensor information to his helmet. He watched as the view of the space ahead of him turned red with unknown contacts. Hopefully these Chiss would be kind enough to speak to them before swatting them out of the sky.

The communication system chirped and a stiff chiss voice echoed in his helmet, “Unknown vessels, this is General Mitth’ark’rasa of the Chiss Expansionary Defense Force. You have entered Chiss space within the Csilla hyperspace exclusion zone in direct disobedience to Chiss law, explain yourselves or we will be forced to consider your intention hostile.”

Calra cursed over the comm., “We broke a law already!”

"I shall do so, then," Kalnar said to Gorwooken.

(( gonna speed it up a hair. ^^ ))

And so, led by Kalnar, the party had arrived at an apartment the Mon Calamari had set up specifically for visitors, fit for dignitaries and the like. Freya met with her brother and the master he traveled with, as Rusty powered down in another room, and beckoned Gorwooken to come.
"I am intrigued. Your father was a good and prudent man, if my memory serves well," Kalnar addressed Freya, as much as he did his padawan.
"Agreed, Master." chimed in Gunther. "It seems that Freya here is here for reasons similar to ours,"
"It appears so." Kalnar agreed. "With the downfall of the Order on Ossus, it seems more prudent to unite the fragments of the Alliance,"
Kalnar then chose his next words carefully. "The loss of your father is indeed tragic." he adressed Freya and Gunther. "Still, he would have you go on in his stead."
"Agreed, Master," Gunther bowed. For him, he did know know his late father as well as his sister did. Still, he too had sorrow in his heart. "To honor his memory is the will of the Force for me,"
"Well said, padawan," said Kalnar. "But, be mindful of your feelings, young one," He then turned to Freya. "And, what of you, Lady Starsinger?"
"I'm, like, totally in!" Freya snarled, her expression in a cold glare. "And, if the Empire is in any way responsible for my old man's death, I'll totally see to it they regret it!"
Kalnar sighed. "Your determination is admirable, Lady Starsinger, but, as I told your brother, please be mindful of your feelings,"

Gorwooken followed everyone into the room and, without even listening to what was being said, walked over to the nearest wall, sitting against the wall, he just sat there, staring off into space. He murmered, continuing to sit.

"And this" The cheery Human tour guide said as she aproached one of the exibits, "is the Auric Runner the pirate ship of the fearsome pirate Cale Darksun, who operated from 15 ABY until his death in 76 ABY in the Maw black hole cluster. Origionally ordered for the New Republic, Darksun stole it before it arrived and then used it to plunder both New Republic Space, the Hutt Criminal Syndicates, and the supply fleets of the Sith Lord Drako the Insane."

She brushed her dark blond hair back over her shoulder and pointed to the now stopped barrels of the vessel's many cannons and torpedo ports. "Origionally a CEC YZ-775 Medium Transport, Darksun heavily modified this ship to suit his needs. These modifications include military strength armor and shields, two Quad turbolasers, an illegally modifided engine suite, and a small hangar. Archaeologists are currently trying to discover what purpose Darksun had for a hangar of this size but much data was lost to history."

A voice ushered out from the crowd of bored looking High school students.
"Wait, if Darksun died in the Maw, how did the museum get his ship?"

The Woman gave a sunny smile.
"A Good question. The Ship Galactic Alliance Naval vessels chased into the Maw was not infact the Auric Runner, but a Proficient Class Cruiser named Heartbreaker, which was Darksun's flagship at the time. The Auric Runner was found in the hands of former Darksun pirate crewmen when they were apprehended attempting to sneak into the Core two years later. BlasTech Industries purchased the vessel and donated it to the museum, where upon it was recognized by historians as having an important place in Corellian Space History."

Another voice ushered out from the disinterested youths. "When do we get to see the Millenium Falcon?"

The Woman's sunny expression withered. "Yeah, its over there." She muttered.
Suddenly animated, the teens as a collective ushered forth in the direction of the legendary freighter.

The Museum guide sighed and shook her head. "Thats all anyone ever comes to see. Relics from over 25,000 years of space faring history and all anyone ever wants to see is the Millenium Falcon."

"Exuse me Miss-"
She sighed again and pointed towards the Falcon. "Its over there."

Link looked confused for a moment. "Actually, the traveler would rather you told him about this ship." He said, pointing to the Runner.

It took Revak awhile to talk the chiss into letting them land, but letting them land was one thing. Dealing with them face to face was something else entirely. Something about their blue skin and red eyes made him shiver as he stood in the landing bay of one of the Chiss Custom Stations. Across from him one of these… things was sitting at a desk looking through the equipment they’d brought with them. Behind him Revak could hear other Chiss technicians poking around his fighter. They were scanning it thoroughly, clearly trying to obtain some useful information from the fighter.

That brought a raporan smile to Revak’s face; the fighter was one of the few things he owned. He’d built it himself gathering the materials and forging the parts one by one. Every seam he’d closed, every thrust vent tweaked and mastered and every part imbued with his force signature. The force imbued ship had absorbed some of his own personality, a ghost of the forgery process. No one else could fly it. Behind his own Calra’s starfighter sat, also a product of his own skills, but carefully imbued with Calra’s personality. It had taken him a long time convincing her to take the step, warrior’s were so often fearful of some of the Worker’s practices with weaponry. Maybe that’s why they revolted, he thought to himself.

Behind him Revak heard the click-clack of Calra strolling across the bay on the metal floor. She stopped beside him and folder her arms in front of her chest. Her killing claw twitched and she began rhythmically clicking it against the floor. Revak glanced at her, patience Calra, you don’t want us tossed out an air lock do you.

The Chiss stirred, “Well, I’m afraid that we’ll have to confiscate some of these items if you intend to bring them with you.”

Revak shuddered as Calra hissed, “What?” Her lip curled up to reveal a line of predatory teeth, a raporan warning that she was on the edge of violence. Revak could see her calf muscles twitch visibly another sign of a warrior preparing for combat.

Revak glanced at her and shook his head slowly, “We must abide by their laws Calra, it is their world after all.”

Calra’s teeth disappeared behind her lips and her shoulders shrugged, “Alright Revak, but I don’t like it.”

The Chiss glanced between the two, “Because of Immigration restrictions you are restricted to a two week visa, stay longer and you’ll be face prosecution.”

Two weeks… That was all. Revak frowned, “If I were to claim refugee status?”

“I’m afraid since you are the first members of your species we’ve encountered that we have no choice but to deny such a claim,” The Chiss answered coldly.

“I see, well I guess we’ll have to figure out where to go from here.”

“That is none of my concern,” The chiss answered quietly. He had his own orders, and if these two Rapora knew of them they’d be none too happy.

" So, the old casino owner is dead. " Angel said to herself, looking into a small screen on her com which was linked to R1, who was hidden some distance away and kept visual and audio on Freya's company. " It's obvious to me that's a lie. He didn't die in his sleep. He was murdered. Question is, who are the Imps covering for? " After pasuing for a few moments, she said into her, to which only R1 could hear, " Alright, keep it up, but be ready to use your blaster if needed. I suspect someone may come after Freya. Only act if you're the last chance she has, otherwise just stay hidden. " Angel shut off her comm and turned over, laying on her back and basking in the sunlight.

Kalnar approached Gorwooken, leaving Freya to her thoughts, and hoping that his student could calm his sister. "You seem troubled, friend." he calmly observed. "In accordance with wookie law and customs, I hazard a guess that you have a life debt to the late Lord Starsinger, am I correct?"
