^ I know how to double tongue, I just can't find the time to teach myself to do it quickly.
To answer a question, we have four. Last year, we had three, but this year we got another. However, she bugs me to death. I know there's not really anything wrong with the cheerleading type, but she's the stereotypical kind. I am a model nerd. Our personalities are two different ones and I think she may have something against me. She's valuable to the section though, so I tolerate her.
Ah, but I ramble.

no one wanted to be a french horn at our school so i tried it and it was more fun. also the mouth peice is NOT too small!!!

Do all of you other horn players out there hate concert marches as much as me? I hate playing on the ands!!!!!!!! evil
I won't be the only french horn player at my school next year (i will still be the best though *yay*).

Absolute_Nothingness Do all of you other horn players out there hate concert marches as much as me? French Hornist, right here. I love French Horn, but I remember when I first got the Mellophone I was like 'OMG, this instrment ish sooooo tight, LAWLZ!'

Ive switched from alto sax to mellophone for marching band. We have too many altos and only one mellophone and no one wanted to switch. So i was like hey wtf ill do it. Little did i know i was going to be in the ignored section of the band. ANd when go into sectionals with the saxes, we have some similar parts but the section leaders noe nothing about how to play it or how to help us play it. ::sigh:: i miss my reed.....oOo did i mention ive only been playing it for like two weeks. Any advice would be greatly appreciated sweatdrop

Well.. lots of air gives a better, stronger sound. Anything in particular you want to ask about? Good luck with mellophone.
