Kai Karasurei shizuka_kage Ha! It seems like I'm meeting tons of people that are older than me now! blaugh What fun! I'm not the old lady anymore! Hehe...you consider 19 old? sigh...you young wiper-snapers dont know the meaning of old...course I'm only 20 so what do I know razz I'd also like to echo Penden's advice on the two RPs she suggested. The futuristic Quarantine has lots of potential and the Feterias guild just needs so consistant members ^_^ so join up and spread the love...or RPING ^_^ Heh. As Penden said...it's all about who you meet. I just keep running into these little 12 and 13 yr olds (not that there's anything wrong with the general population, please don't misunderstand). So...yes...in that group 19 is very old. rolleyes

Updated.Hiyaz. The name's Elizabeth, but I'd prefer if ya just called me Gwen. I'm hoping to find some really good roleplays through this Guild, along with meeting some really good roleplayers!
My name came from an ex of mine when I was trying to think of a character name for a vampyre in a one-on-one RP. I've been using it for years now, and both the name, and the character, have developed to be more than what they used to be.
I'm 17 years old, and living in Utah. (No, I'm not Mormon). I only recently moved back here after living in California for a year, with my father. I am now living with my mother, two younger sisters, and my stepfather. I have been roleplaying for about 9 years now, and I have numerous characters that I have played over the years, including, but not limited to: Gwendylyyn, a Vampyre-Succubus (there is an entire backstory explaining this); Maria, a tall, athletic girl who lives in the real world; Aezrah, a rather exotic woman (and I don't mean that in any sort of 'naughty' context); and Myshka, a new character of mine who sees visions of the future.
I'm into numerous types of Roleplays, including Punk settings (think 'Slums of Midgar (FF7)'), Scifi (mostly vampyric/lycanthropic), some futuristic roleplays (nothing too futuristic), Pirate roleplays, Mutantish roleplays (though I prefer to stay away from these unless powers are limited), and numerous other types. I refuse to join Slave roleplays, unless they are limited in such a way that cybering and the like is NOT promoted. There are ways of roleplaying a Slave situation in such a way that sex need not be involved, people are just too wrapped up in the cybering-scene to be creative and run these types instead. Although I feel that romance can add to a roleplay, I also feel that it can detract from a roleplay as well. If romance and sex are the only themes in a Roleplay, it becomes disinteresting and, all in all, rather childishly annoying. Although I enjoy vampyres, lycans, demons, etc., it's also an overused idea. Most people just use it so they can play super powerful demons. It's frustrating, and I won't join RPs like this. On the other hand, if there is a good, thought-out storyline, I'm rather likely to hop right in.
I find technology roleplays interesting as long as it's the people who have been changed by it along with the environment. If you are living in a futuristic setting, you're not going to live like you do in today's world. I also look for good storylines here...not just some random setting with no story behind it. I don't like the idea of robots unless humans still have a good level of control...and the robots need some sort of AI. Random robots wandering around with no thought process whatsoever....it's kind of pointless, and annoying. When it comes to Science Fiction, I prefer Punk settings. Again, think of the slums from Midgar in FF7. I have a character thought out for this sort of setting, one that hasn't really had the chance to be played out yet. I would LOVE to find a roleplay to play her in. Currently, she is set up for something Bounty Hunter-esc, but this can be changed if the idea is one that I find interesting.
All of my characters have flaws, always, whether it's a big one or a small one. There is always a way to defeat them through weaknesses, and they always have the occasional screw-up. Why? Because, otherwise, they'd be fake, like most people's characters.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I am currently looking for any roleplay that I find interesting. I'm tired of finding really good roleplays with good, literate people, just to have them slow down and die. It's rather annoying, and slightly depressing.
Hi. Call me Lakenheath. I am relatively new to role play. I started out playing a few months ago on a community in Livejournal. I am brand new to Gaia. From looking around the role play forums, it's clear that things are done very differently here. I'm eager to learn more about role playing, and role playing on Gaia specifically. heart
Hello, I guess I’m a new installation to the group, probably not the newest, and I’m very glad to be offered an invitation to this guild--hope you guys know what your getting yourself into by welcoming me in. ^_---
Kidding, Kidding!
But I’ll entrust a bit of information for the viewers to either A) See with little interest, or B) ignore completely. Feel free to do either.
I am Zin Slain, an alias name that I have been upholding for a while now. --I swear, it just rolls off the tip of your tongue.--
Currently, I’m 17 years old, I emphasize this cause I get the general feeling that people associate proper grammar and writing based on age and experience, although, I’m pretty sure it shouldn’t be based to much on age as education, and reading can harness good writing no matter what age you are.
Type of Rp I wouldn‘t see myself doing:
I really want to say any, but sometimes that isn’t the case as there are some things that seem very inappropriate. Such would be Slaves/Masters Rp, a few people touch on that subject without knowing the gravity of the situation, just for the sake of cybering or ‘hard core romance’. (Not that I’m against people who do it either)
Angel’s and Demons Rp-It is a cliché that is brought up a lot, unless I see a good storyline than I might get into it. (Is it just me or is there always an epic war or battle between the two sides? CANT WE JUST ALL GET ALONG!)
Fantasy: This is just an excuse for people to be extra strong and cool, well I, for one, am happy being human, humans are artistic--some--, fun to be around with and not intimidating--again some--and, if you really put a lot of attention to it, it is noted that many times humans had bested supernatural beings--(if you ignore the fact that humans are the ones calling the shots when it comes down to the creation of cartoons and Hollywood movies.) And if there is any evil that has stained the surface of the world it would be humans and their selfish ways, not that I’m complaining, though.
WILL RP:
Vampires: In a sense they are human walking corpse with shiny fangs, they are okay in my book so as long as I have a good group of people playing it or the plot line is good. (I like mixing in sci-fie to this.)
Anything that involves cyborgs’--I use the computer a lot, I think that has something to do with it, that and added the fact that chobits is awesome, how can I not love robots after seeing all those episodes of Chii, in fact, I’ll die happy if robots rule the world ^^.
Genera Science fiction is a given, all that involves corrupted corporate heads that reduced the earth to a polluted ball, lunar nine moon base--in other words, solar system being inhibited by humans and aliens-- demented clones, robots, bounty hunters like a cowboy bebop type of theme. I like something dark that was invoked by human greed, and not demons.
-----Ughghhh, I’m making this too long! M’kay finishing notes, I hate perfect characters, and all that is cliché! There, finished. I’ll do Yoai, Het, or whatever, although when overused the theme of love, it could hinder the plot. And my goal for this rp, so far, is to make flawless, unappealing characters that seem realistic enough with traits such as greed, and so forth.
--I just want to have fun, and I hope I'm capable of sharing some good vibes amoung you guys.
Hi, I'm Daniel (that's what the D in slowD stands for). You can call me slow, Daniel or slowD.
I haven't really done an RPing before but I'm hoping to get a start here. Given that, I can't really say which RP genres are my favorite, though I've been looking into trying something along the lines of a sci-fi/modern genres.
Hello, I'm DeLaFere. Name comes from my role model for life, (Athos in The D'Artagnan Romances). I am a lover of good literature, definitely. And much of the roleplaying that I'm into fits that. I'm 17, almost. I look somewhat like my avatar. Roleplaying I like: Humans. Mainly in the Middle AgesMedieval times. However, I can put up with most any. Wolves. As long as I can project human thoughts and ideas into the mind of the characters. What I do not like: Fantasy. Generally juvenile, there is nothing wrong with humans as they are. Vampires. Roleplays based on movies or books. Hmm... anything else you need to know about me? Well... in real life, I have no friends, I used to but.. well, I lost someone, and with that person a part of me. Therefore I am a... strange person, I prefer to be alone with my thoughts or escape from them via the internet. Much of "me" comes out in my best characters. DeLaFere, out.
Hi there. :] I finally decided to post, I'm a bit shy.. sweatdrop You can just call me by my screen name. (I don't know why I chose it; I just couldn't think of anything original) I'm fifteen years old at this point..
My hobbies are well...reading books, watching tv, internet, and etc. I'm very open to music and would like to listen or try to listen to different types of music instead of listening to just one. My current favorite band at this moment is Lifehouse.
When I usually get on Gaia, one of the main things I enjoy are the roleplays. In my opinion, currently, I noticed in Barton Town, roleplay threads usually dies in a few days, and that's why I joined this guild--to improve my skills and to roleplay in a thread that won't possibly die in a few days.
Zin Slain -- clearly you've played with the wrong RPers if you think that fantasy is just about that. Fantasy is exactly like sci-fi. Both are speculative fiction that explores how humans (or human-like creatures, like cyborgs or giants) would act in situations that appear vastly different on the surface but essentially involve the same moral conundrums as the real world, based on (usually unchanging) human nature. Usually when I play sci-fi or fantasy I play humans-- whether they are mages, or cyborgs, or not. heart As a GM it can be fun to cause some destruction with something like a dragon, but you can do that just as easily with a spaceship or a volcanoe. It's all about making the characters believable, which is usually the same as making them "human" enough.
Just_someone: Don't worry, most of ours last at least a few weeks. lol I think that the guild RP has almost made it a year through, and some of the ones that have died that I recall lasted at least a month or two. And then of course there are ones just starting or still going.
DeLaFere-- a lot of my friends are over the internet.
slowD -- go to the Improving Your RPing subforum or whatever it's called. Then if you want, you might want to try a one-on-one RP where there is less pressure to keep track of a humongous plot and ten other people posting. The good thing about forum RP is that you can take your time making your post, too, so you can really give it some effort and thought. Mostly it is just about good writing, which you can try to emulate from the good things you've read.
Lakenheafh -- they RP on livejournal??? You should tell us about it, maybe start your own topic to explain it and ask questions/compare to RP here.
Gwendylyyn-- that's why I try so many one-on-one RPs. They tend to either die in a heart beat or go on for months (whether you want them to or not?). But I've also had a lot of fun with group RPs that lasted a good while. This includes the Feretris guild RP we have which is technically still going but which we need to recruit for... sweatdrop
Hello, I just joined the guild, like lots of people who posted here. My name's Bogus and joined 'cause I've had enough with the rp's that die after a few days. I'm usually consistant (sometimes...) and I like to think of myself as imaginative and unique, but that's probably a lie. I hate when I'm Rping and there is an all-powerful person with no weaknesses, cause usually I'll be the first to be squashed.
Oh, and I'm ochlophobic. ^.^ Just thought I should let'cha know my real big weakness in real-life.
-Good'ay. Hope to see ya around!
I love to RP I generally rp as a human/wolf, witch, or mutan. I once Played as a Vampire but they kicked me out of the guild for not playing the role of the vampire there way rolleyes . I'm new to Role Playing but I find it a lot of fun. I know I have lots to learn and I'm slowly catching on lol. I have a bf that I just love, and I live with my parents and work at being my own grandmothers care giver you could say. I cook, clean, and wash the clothes. I'm more of a maid now that I think of it lol. I'm a really nice person, and love to help people. so I hope to meet you all, and have fun.
