The wind was fierce, and difficult for a tiny green to fight for long. Keyrarath was blown out of formation and into Thread, and creeled softly in pain as Hers guided her carefully Between.

Though Elzebuth did his best to twist out of the way as Thread gusted towards them, he was too tired--and too large--to succeed. He roared as Thread bit into his hide, and G'ran directed them Between to freeze the silvery stuff before it could do any more damage.

As you fly, you find that you're getting into a heavier patch of Thread ahead. You've got a bad feeling about this.... You warn one of your wingmates to let a patch go! Thankfully, they listen, and sure enough, the wind changes! It would have blown the pair right into the patch. As it stands, the wind blows the Thread back, and your wingmate are able to flame it down without injury. [+2 Instinct]
Elzebuth was still tired, and though he and G'ran managed to warn off a fellow wingmate from getting Thread blown back in their face, he couldn't even be terribly proud of himself. It was taking all the effort he had just to focus on flying.

Elzebuth scorched a good amount of Thread in his path, clearing some space for himself and G'ran. He was finally beginning to feel less winded, rumbling to himself as the silver strands fell all around them.

You try to flame down some Thread, but your flame comes up short. Whoops! Hopefully your Wingleader didn't see that. Nothing to be done about it now except eat some more firestone, and try to catch the next clump!
Elzebuth spat out another lick of flame... but it wasn't long enough to reach the clump! G'ran swore quietly, immediately throwing more firestone to his brown. THat was a mistake, and they wouldn't make it again.

4. Failure! You overshoot, and miss your target completely. Instead, it falls on one of your fellow wingmates, and they scream in pain as they disappear to the sanctuary of Between. [Take 3 turns of Guilt! Any Damage rolled takes an additional -5 HP. Any successful bonuses or saves by other players don't affect your character. You just don't deserve it.]
G'ran urged Elzebuth Between in order to chase a stubborn clump of Thread... only to completely overshoot his target. Both rider and dragon flinched as they appeared just in time to hear one of their wingmates shriek, knowing that if they'd done better, they could have prevented the whole thing.

The wind was awful. While fighting in the high altitude wing was never pleasant, today was particularly rough. Macuith tried his best to remain in his position, but the blue struggled.. and both rider and dragon felt the twinge when something in his wing pulled.
Shaffit...
Well. Nothing to be done about it. Be careful, Mac. This wind's not playing around.
What can I say? You know I like it rough. The blue laughed, not at all worried.

Onward the pair continued to fight. Macuith wasn't feeling great, but he wasn't slowing down, either. Pride also helped keep rider and dragon going... they had to represent their color, after all.

Once again, the wind tried to throw the blue from the sky--but he resisted. At what cost though? By the time he pushed his way through, his wing was really beginning to ache.
Macuith... C'lusi half-groaned.
The blue pretended not to hear.

1. This tangles up on your dragon's tail and foot. You immediately blink Between, with the injury hurting your dragon, but not enough to slow you down. Light Damage - 2 HP
Unfortunately, for all his fancy flying, a small sliver of Thread caught the blue against his tail and foot. C'lusi was ready though--and a quick hop Between made little work of the offending strand.
