Ree clenched his teeth and turned the sickly colored Soul Light from just illuminating to burning once again, focused on not burning Ashral or Griselle. Trying to buy more time . "Grieslle can you tell them to ******** off or contribute something useful? Or you know say why they are still here instead of passing on? They didn't freaking stay on this side of the plane just to start haunting one person like a mass of ethereal floatsam " he said getting angry as the power for the soul light brightened slightly the greenish cast hinting more towards its normal blue tinted white but staying mostly green. Looking at Ashral soul through his wing he sighed heavily. "I know what will work for a strong desire" he said taking a deep breath, thinking how to word it. "First let me see if this works first" he frowned. "Doll, stop listening to those ghosts ..pay attention only to the living from now on" he said quietly.

The souls were burned and kept at bay by the soul light as Giselle flinched at Ree's words. She listened to the voices, trying to pinpoint certain words to figure out why they were there. Closing her eyes, she concentrated. "They still feel trapped here.. They don't know where to go... Someone is still trying to control them and they are confused... They say to kill her, that that's the only way to save her."
"Chanting...they want to see me die..." Ashral muttered quietly.
"They are lying, don't listen to them." Giselle exclaimed softly, bring her hands to her chest in worry.
There was another voice in the distance, above them, a female voice calling out for Giselle.
Ashral didn't seem to be paying much attention until he called her doll, her eyesopening to look at him as she took in his command and paused. "I can still hear them. They are very loud. But I'm not listening..." she responded calmly with a hint of blandness to her voice. After a couple seconds she shut her eyes again tightly, realizing she was looking towards him. She turned her head away to make sure she wouldn't be tempted. "...I'm.. still me.. time isn't out yet.. I'm still fighting it..." she spoke a bit more normally now, more clearly, as she took in a deep breath to steady herself.

"Time is not out..." he took a breath as his attention was pulled between them. He had not been sure that it would work and by Ashral's words it only gave them some time. He still had what he was sure she would desire but if this worked... " Grieslle, can you ask them why killing her is the only way to save her and who is controlling them? Where are they?" he called back to her as he looked at Ashral's light. "Don't listen to them" he said repeating Giselle's words before taking another breath, rolling on the chance. "Good. Now Doll, You do not desire to kill Ree Luz you don't want to mentally or emotionally. He is not a target any more. "

Giselle nodded and concentrated on the voices again.
Vina finally made it down into the dark lab, out of breath, as the only thing she could see was glowing on the other side of the room. "Giselle?" she called out with worry and confusion.
Giselle looked over to where Vina was and frowned, then turned her attention back to Ree. "Vina is here." she announced quietly. "They won't say why killing her is the only option, but I think they are lying. They was the master is Marion. She told them to come here."
"..I'm trying not to..." Ashral responded softly Then sighed. She listened to the command and paused, processing what he said. She turned her face upward as if to stare at the ceiling but her eyes were still closed. "Error. Level of command cannot rewrite base coding and is only intended for temporary commands. Kill sequence cannot be permanently rewritten without high authority level command set to do so. I apologize for the inconvenience." she suddenly spoke, monotone, robotic, not even sounding like herself but more like how Hexxis spoke.
After a moment, Ashral lifted a shaky hand to her mouth, choking back at the horror of how she had just spoken unlike anything she knew. She had never realized that she had been conditioned like Hexxis was, and this discovery terrified her to the core as her stomach churned hard and she clenched her eyes tighter.

Ree didn't respond not even when Vina called out as he waited for a response from Ashral, staring as she spoke in a monotone robotic voice like Hexxis. The rejection of the command combined with the message for inconvenience he him hiss in frustration. If they needed any proof that she had been programmed this was it and going from the sounds she was making she had finally realized it to. There were no other commands in her file just those few and this one had been the closest one to programming. "Darn it...darn Haven . " he said quietly, being forced with the only other option left while she was still sane, but first. " Thanks Griselle. Could you ask them if they had been around her when Maroin spoke to a man who helped call back Ashral? if they know where he is?" he said with a sigh before turning toward Vina's voice. " Vina... over here. Hey did you know Mairon is a Magi that controls spirits? Did something with someone ..call Ashral's spirit back into her body ...had her want to kill me. Fun things...can I permanently disable her brain? I promise she will still be alive" he said seriously with only a hint of sarcasm, stressed but still trying to move through it now that there seem to be some avenues. "Ashral...I'm sorry " he said quietly taking a breath. "but listen to me." he thought over what he was about to say yet again and let it out. Middle and lower wings tense against his back. " For your protection and control I will allow you to kill me within one month's time without resistance for so long as the deal remains in place and knowing you will continue to keep control after I am dead. Future modifications to the deal, either within its body or the agreements originally agreed upon, can be done with agreement from both parties up to and during the time of the execution of the deal. " he frowned modifying the original agreement with Tri, he could have easily used marriage instead of death but that was to volatile...it could end with a slow death for them both... or not.

Giselle nodded again and was silent as she spoke with the spirits without a word.
Vina waded through the skewed tables and equipment in the room to make her way over to them. "Are you kidding me? She's a magi too?" she sighed as he suggested disabling her brain. "I dont know.." was all she could come up with, frowning. She was conflicted by the question itself, but stayed quiet as she watched Ree and Ashral and looked over at Giselle who was concentrating. Vina had no idea what was happening as she folded her arms worriedly.
Ashral was listening as he spoke, eventually pausing then turning her head and opening her eyes to look at him, bringing her arm back down as halfway through she just let go of her control of that arm. "It is still missing a desired aspect. I offered that deal similarly with Tri because I knew it would still torment Hexxis to know I would kill him once I was out, which would give me the energy I needed to get out regardless if I actively hurt her or not. She would do it to herself without my help. It was beneficial to me because I would get out and have Tri's soul. An unfair deal that you were smart enough to point out and modify. I made a deal with you that I would be let go when I separated in return for my loyalty to you. I benefited from this because Hexxis feared what I could do.. she owed me her life, and despaired over how I would somehow find a way to claim you... I would secure my own safety while also garnering energy from my host." she paused, her eyes narrowing calmly. "Protection for myself isn't a priority or desire. And I don't want to kill you.. even if my mind does, my heart doesn't. This deal won't work... I...I'm sorry, Ree.." she frowned. "The difficulty is that everything I could have desired is gone now... I already talked to Shogu. Xinyii was killed. Hexxis is no longer my host..... Even you are out of reach. So I cannot find anything left other than to protect you, but that's not enough..." she sniffled a bit as she tried to think about what to do.
"They weren't here. They don't know about any man." Giselle finally answered with a frown. "They don't know what happened to Ashral, only that Marion cried out for them to kill her."

And with that everything he was trying to somehow organized went crashing down on both sides. There was a flicker of surprised that Hexxis worried about him when the deal was made... even if everyone else did he really shouldn't have been. Sighing he lower his top wings and stared at her hopelessly, that is why she wasn't a spirit before...no reason to be here. Like he had no reason for most of his like... just aimless, trying one thing only to be shot down for his species or by those he was close to even if they were well-meaning. Blinking he looked faintly surprised as she said he was out of reach and then looked off to the side. Not even knowing what to say to that, not trying to think of it. "I see.." he said quietly to Giselle as he stared at Ashral. "What do you want to do?" he said quietly, the Soul Light faded down to inches away from him as the glow in his eyes was barely even visible.

Ashral looked away, staring up, forcing a smile. "I want to find my reason to live. It was to protect you... and without seeing red, that was a simple but valiant reason to keep moving. Now... now that's not strong enough to stop what Haven did. I was slowly overcoming it with Tri.. because I was terrified of you hating me because I couldn't stop myself from trying to kill him..." she explained calmly. "Even after our deal was fulfilled, I had enough willpower to fight it...because I just didn't want to make you unhappy with what I was capable of..." There were tears building in her eyes again. "Why is that different now,.. I don't understand why I'm not strong enough to fight it now..." She wanted to cover her face with her hands but didn't have the strength to move. "Where did my will to keep moving go..."
Giselle watched hesitantly, worry on her face as she wanted to offer anything she could but knew nothing of their situation or what to do. She closed her eyes and sat down, concentrating with everything she had to talk to the spirits with as much focus as she could muster. The spirits slowly responding as they held position and didnt push further inward.

"...I don't know" he said quietly, looking off to the side of the cage. "It was a reason but it wasn't strong enough to hold you. " he continued softly. " Right now you're alive so... maybe your desire could be to find a reason?" his wings shifted slightly. "I could..I could offer you marriage. " he said sadly, it was obvious he was at the last of his ideas.

Ashral was quiet, her shaky breaths echoing in the room. "..maybe.." she muttered barely audible, staring off hopelessly. He then made another offer and there was a flicker of surprise on her face as her eyes darted to look at him, like she had considered it for a split second before a deep pain washed over her face and her eyes shifted away in agony. "...but then you would lying to me..." she muttered, barely above a whisper, a pained whimper escaping her lips as she closed her eyes, tears filling her eyes. The pain in her chest unbearable at the idea of it. The worst part of it being that now she couldn't stop thinking about it, another thing she could have desired but couldn't have. Ashral was trying not to break down crying, trying to ignore her roaring thoughts, just trying to stay strong when her despair was starting to consume her already fragile mind and slowly breaking her heart.

He regretted it when he said it, reaching up to grasp his bangs with one hand and look down wanting to sink down to the ground even if there was water. "I said I would be truthful.... " he said quietly. " It would be possible but I will forget. I will go back to treating you like my sister...that is how I view you. I don't think I will love anyone in that other way. So it doesn't matter... I just .... i'm sorry. I don't know what to say, other than i'm trying to help" he said quietly, trailing off as he looked toward her then back down. How could he inspire her for a reason when he barely had one of his own? Just messing stuff up as it came up it seem that was all he was good for.

Ashral let his words sink,in despite how painful they were. He was right, it would just end the same way as it did before. He couldn't love her the way she loved him. So it didn't matter. She paused and took a deep breath and moved her head to look at his but didn't open her eyes, just thinking for a moment. "Just as you dont think would love anyone in that way... I don't think I could possibly love someone as much as I do you even if don't exactly feel the same way." she spoke softly, her voice fragile as she was trying to keep smiling despite her endless tears.
Vina frowned, not sure what to do to help, just focusing on Giselle who had been sitting there in concentration, not moving, and didn't understand what she was doing since she could see the spirits around them that were slowly easing back away from them.
"...hey Ree..." Ashral spoke, opening her eyes with an almost genuine but sad smile. "...make a deal with me... I will promise to always protect you. My blade will never bring you harm, and I will always stand at your side. With my loyalty and love. In return, you have one month to help me find a reason to keep moving forward. A reason to keep living, and help me give purpose to why I came back." he voice was soft, but clear as she focus her case at him. "If you fail to do so, you have to marry me. While you don't love me in a romantic sense... you still care a lot about me. I want to claim your heart for myself. And I will continue my devotion to you wholeheartedly." she took a shaky breath, nervous for how he would react to such a deal. "...is this okay..."

Ree looked at her sadly as the green color strengthen throughout the soul light as it retreated to just above his skin. "Deal" he said quietly, it wasn't even up to him. If this was what it took to help Ashral stay than he would make the sacrifice.. he was the one who offered it after all, even the work around. She knew he would treat her like his sister but it didn't stop him from suddenly being concern how he should treat her, when he didn't know how to treat her when they had been dating. . They would likely marry then...he was the worst person to find a reason for someone else to stay in this plane. He turned serious as he started to get up but looked..depressed.

He agreed to her deal and she felt relieved that he accepted, sighing with a smile. But her elation was short lived as she watched him closely. If she was so relieved, then why was she still crying. The pain would not subside, in fact, it only grew as she frowned. His expression, his posture, it was obvious. She narrowed her eyes in pain and sighed. "...does the idea of being with me... really hurt you that much..." she mumbled, her throat so tight, she could barely breathe. "...then forget it... I...I was being stupid..." she continued, the pain she felt far worse than any wound she had been inflicted. Maybe she had been wrong. Her assumptions about his feelings, what she wouldn't give to just fade out of existence right there for even bring up such an outlandish deal. Nothing was going to work.
'I thought he cared. I was wrong. This is why I was brought back. To suffer like this again. I'm always suffering. What difference does it make anymore. This is why I was a malice. I was never sure. I could have been something else. Doubtful. Only pretending. I don't believe that. Do I? Leave me alone... I can't breathe. It hurts. Why does it hurt? I'm hopeless. This was hopeless. Stupid. I was so stupid. Just forget me. There's nothing left.'
Ashral closed her eyes and was just crying silently, deep in her racing thoughts that were becoming louder than even the spirits that had surrounded them.

"No it doesn't, it.. just that it would be a lie. I brought it up without thinking but there are expectations, vows...assumptions. Even if you freed me of them I don't think I would be able to free myself. " he said quietly, his wings drooping as he looked around the area noticing a lot of the ghosts were pulled back but he couldn't extend soul light any further than it was right now. He wanted to cry, it would be so much easier if he didn't have any care of that, for both of them. He was just so tired... " Stay my sister...my best friend. I can't start a family with you just from our biology and I don't desire intercourse...with pretty much anyone." he said bluntly even with the others there, knowing about that part of himself but never caring before. "So why do we have to change the labeling? I feels safer being around you when I don't have to worry, more carefree." he said quietly, always hoping Ashral would be his friend someone he could depend on, tease, wander with. "I know you love me... and you wish me to be your one and only " he trailed off, Marion didn't have to curse Ashral they did a pretty good job tearing up each other without help. "I can only promise to be there for you when you need it, I don't plan on leaving you unless you wish to leave. I am not going to go and hunt down someone else to be with but I don't want to be afraid trying to talk to others...and I would, just encase I break those vows... by accident " he said quietly, his wings drooping into the water and he pushed against the wave of sleepiness as he stared at Ashral. "I know that bond isn't strong enough to keep you but ... I can try to give you a family. Not of children, unless you want but ... those who would need you. " he took a breath as he glanced back at Vina and Griselle then back at Ashral, his heart hurting as he watched her cry . "Help me change the world or at least a government " he said quietly, knowing how stupid and naive he sounded but his Soul Light was slowly extending from where it had tighten against his body. Wasn't everything he had done here just a forlorn hope that worked somehow? He doubted it would be the same back on the mainland but ...even Zaku started small. He didn't want to suffer or have anyone else suffer what happened here. There was always Belosh and Sanctuary but both were so far away, nothing for those that could not travel..who were trapped. Even Belosh was stuck within the system of the other governments. Taking a breath he moved to kneel by her "Help me..and I will always stay by you" he said quietly. "Or die trying. Even if by some small chance I find someone I will not leave you. I would give them up before I did you" he said with a sad smile watching her.. hoping that was enough or if she could modify it to fit her need.
