Response: Puzzles. He just really, really, REALLY loved puzzles! So when he saw the giant ice block that the teacher had set out for them to get the Legos out of, he couldn’t help but rush over to it in excitement! He wasn’t excited about the Legos, but he wanted to figure out how to get as many out as he possibly could. Unfortunately since he was quite small, it took some time until he had been able to get to the ice block, and by then most of it seemed to be gone! Still, there were enough pieces that he could do something with it, and he found several pieces by themselves and gathered them up into a container.
Of course, he had to account for how much ice and water would be left as he slowly melted them. He used his hands at points, which was easier for some parts since he was a sluagh and that meant he had larger than normal hands compared to the other races so he was able to melt some of the pieces out just by doing that. For the others though, he had chipped them away into even smaller pieces so that they would each melt faster, and eventually all of it had melted and he had 40 of the Lego pieces. And just as the bell rang too!

Response: The first thing that Marion did when she saw the giant ice block was chew on it a bit. It wasn’t until the teacher removed her from the structure and told her that there were pieces of Lego in there that Marion realized that the giant block of ice wasn’t a treat for them on a warm summer day as this. Marion was very disappointed that they didn’t get to have any of it! She didn’t care much for the Legos, she was usually losing them, but that didn’t mean that she was against trying to get any out! And what could she do to free the pieces?
The teacher had to take her off of the structure once again, and told her she had to try and get the pieces another way. Marion pouted for a bit, until she decided that she could try breaking off pieces with various tools! She managed to snatch an untaken pair of scissors and began stabbing at the ice, until pieces of Lego were scattering everywhere, some with various scratches in them. The teacher had to stop her when she got to 34 pieces, but at least Marion had been able to participate! Even if it wasn’t the best way to go about it.
