He didn't care about Mo-Po chewing on his hard candy on the canopy high over head or clicking the hammer on his rifle whenever he thought he had a shot lined up. He didn't care about Hisoka's thunderous repetitions on the heavy bag. He didn't even care about the demonic screeches beyond the walls and the sudden slicing of steel as Zaou-Gongen played the best goddamn gatekeeper this side of the East Gate of Soul Society. Here, back upon the couch in their warehouse with his head in his wife's lap as she hummed some light tune to herself and looked at another little magazine with some dresses of a rather tiny size in them...not that he was paying much attention to that...here, he could finally relax.
No Benetnasch. No Trumpeter. No Pasupata. No Mediocre. Just relaxation...

He listened to the soothing music on the last few minutes of his MP3-Player's batteries and let the feelings rejuvenate him, fill him with some sense of calm that couldn't be taken away from him. Not yet, not by any device of man, beast, devil, or Polaris...his lips curled into the faintest of smiles as he rested and the world melted way, even as Zaou-Gongen's field day continued outside of the warehouse at the expense of a few Pyro Jack and Jack Frosts who were on their way to do little more than have a mock Iron Chef Cooking Competition in which one made all frozen-based dishes while the other made nothing but hot-spicy dishes...who cares what the secret ingredient was, don't you want to watch that cook-off?!
...But that didn't matter. Outside it was chaos, but inside it was peaceful. Nothing was getting through to him. Nothing...nothing...

This is a totally legit, not at all a trick to get you to open your doors to us offer which you really can't afford to pass up!" a voice came through the door, and somehow it was a familiar voice...like something that had already been heard once earlier in the Event and fallen flat despite the pure comedic gold of a traveling demon lawyer (quotes) Obariyon going by a really obvious nom de guerre. And though there was at least one person curious on whether or not to open the door...

...Everybody else was a little too sharp on the uptake to take the bait.

...Kakyo had the Obariyon by the neck and up against a wall in an instant, eyes flashing dangerously.

He tossed the little bugger out so hard that when Zaou-Gongen's sword sliced it in half cleanly it was impressive he'd had the hand-eye coordination to actually make contact with it. Defeating a HUNDRED Obariyon all at once was just fun. And it was a stress-reliever like none that Kakyo had experienced since...well, he wasn't sure he could recall the last time he had so much fun in a devil-slaying, apocalypse-surviving experience! He stood outside of the warehouse and they all rushed him at once, jumping, clawing, punching, but at his current level they were little more than flies and gnats and with each swing of his crowbar he sent one tumbling to the ground and into a burst of magnetite...some launching into the air and exploding into the dust there, some sticking on the crowbar until they dispersed...and he found several other creative ways to take them down as he mowed through their ranks like some kind of Shin Megami Tensei Dynasty Warriors Game...wait, what?! Fists, feet, knees, elbows, street, signs, fire hydrants, passing scooter bikes, the top of the warehouse, Mo-Po's rifle, his demons weapons (except Shiva's)...he had used all of them and then some in order to kill the Obariyon. Best. Stress-relief. Ever.

"I have the most loving, beautiful, understanding wife in the world...okay I said it, honey, you can stop poking me now, all right?"Unfortunately, his Flawless Victory over the Obariyons had been immediately flipped on its head when a certain GIANT TURNIP came hovering around the nearby corner and had him dismissing his demons and ducking back into the warehouse to safely hide...only realize after the fact that the Mokoi he'd had Hisoka send out on watch hadn't come back yet...and was probably destroyed for sure by now. Probably some rule about dispersing too far away from the App anyway, and if not, it was dead. Dead demons didn't sadden him so much, though, especially when they were as weak comparatively as Mokoi. There were a very few that he still cared about in his own arsenal, and even those were grating. Or, rather than those, that one...you knew the one...he knew the one...it knew the one.
He hadn't called it out since the Terminal flight and with good reason. It needed to learn how to behave. A pack of buzzards. And so they came, Abbadon, Scathach, Orobas...all attacking at once at the front of the warehouse so fast that Mo-Po didn't have a prayer of keeping up with them, and even Zaou-Gongen would have trouble with the numbers. ******** celebrity-leeching fascist devil bastards! He didn't even know what he was saying but he was mad as Hell at the demons attacking them and he wasn't about to take it anymore!

"I have the most loving, beautiful, understanding wife in the world...okay I said it, honey, you can stop poking me now, all right?"And no sooner had he cleaned up the entourage than the star of the party was upon him...the first attack clearing his right ear by just a few inches and shattering the road behind him, letting him know that it surely wasn't playing, and surely wouldn't miss a second time. He reached into his pocket and grabbed a crystallized set of tokens and looked at them in disappointment...forty ******** posts and this was what he got to do with them? Immediately throw them at the biggest object of annoyance in his entire god damned life bar-one?! This world had no justice. There was no God except for all of them. He used the distraction of the Frozen Offering to race around to the back of the warehouse and sneak in the back door, collapsing onto the couch without another word. He didn't need to speak...his body language said it all. And his wife's lap was the perfect pillow for just what he needed.
"I'm tired..." he sighed against her thigh, cuddling close and not even thinking twice before his eyes closed and his breathing steadied, "...Just a little rest for now. It was a relief to have those few quiet moments. His mouth opened into a yawn as he rolled away from the cushions and onto his own feet again, smiling lazily down at his wife as she swatted his leg playfully and told him to cover his mouth when he yawned like that. It was insane to think that they could have quiet moments like this one, peaceful and normal moments, when the world was going to Hell outside these walls (and indeed, he could still hear Zaou-Gongen fighting out there, cutting through demons that wandered by and sniffed around their base...it paid to have such strong allies). But this was what it meant to be a husband...for the world to be all right even when it was crumbling to dust. To have that rock...

The looks bounced back and forth for a moment, the Boss let his lips curl into the tiniest of smirks. Really, what could he say? His spirits were restored at least in part now and his body was recovered enough to throw himself back into the fight whether it was a good idea or it wasn't. His eyes were dark...his smirk devilish. Just this once, it wouldn't be so bad, would it? There were a horde of smaller demons rushing them down the street...a trifle, really.

"I have the most loving, beautiful, understanding wife in the world...okay I said it, honey, you can stop poking me now, all right?"It wasn't incredibly infested between the warehouse and the summoning terminal where the Trumpeter was waiting for them, and Kakyo hadn't even needed to summon the other Vultures to clear the road. Zaou-Gongen and Shiva were easily powerful enough to defeat most of what they had encountered without trouble, and the rest had only posed the most minor of incidents. And through the smoldering wreckage of the devils that they had slain they walked towards the clearing, demonic blood pooling at their feet as magnetite dispersed into the air like a light blue rain running in reverse and returning to the clouds above. His lips curled into a half-smile as he brushed his hand over the kiosk...his earlier frustration faded a little bit as he considered what else he could do here to convince the devil.

This was simple, easy combat and he was able to focus on the task of trying to type in the commands to call forth the Herald within to hear their plea again.
