The only thing that Zascha could think was he knew it. Somehow in the back of his mind he knew this exact ******** thing was going to happen. Sirens were going off and it was making it hard to think. It was pitch black and his eyes weren't adjusting fast enough.
It was aggravating.
He heard the clatter of what he could only assume were flashlights falling to the floor and miraculously he managed to snag one. "Harlow...Nellie...!" He managed to spot Harlow right away. She had been right next to him after all so he reached out to grasp her arm making sure she didn't just run right out of the room without him.

The crying sound next to Nellie was both distressing and distracting. Yet the Mist trainee tried to keep her cool with Niffy's encouragement, crouching down to gingerly feel around for a bit until her fingers closed around something cylindrical. A torchlight. Finally!
"Nellie's here!"
She called out amidst the chaos that had erupted around them all, flipping the light on and turning it instinctively to where she thought the crying was coming from . Please don't let it be Harlow or someone she knew..
You may TRY for one of the flashlights scattered on the ground. Roll 1d6. If you roll a 1 or 6 you get one. If you have a flashlight, you may search your surroundings in BOLD BLUE with the flashlights.
It didn't take long for the silent girl to obtain one of the flashlights dropped by the clumsy Death Assistant. She felt the cold metal sensation of the torch slowly, fingers creeping along its body. Until others, she didn't immediately turn it on, there might be a cue of a silent smile.
The phone was picked out and two messages were sent out.
While small cold circles of lights began to show in the room, she switched hers on and let the light swam around like a goldfish in darkness.

[He made one small slash at thin air in front of them, hopefully not hitting anyone...not infected.
THUNK.
Dakota hit something, but it also felt like someone. There was the obvious smell of iron, and the feeling that his blade has sliced very human flesh.
Immediately there was a whimpering noise. It was coming from whomever Dakota had hit, from the floor next to him.
Jude's hand against her hair made her scream - it was instantly stifled, and she slammed her hand against her mouth in the first movement she'd made since the darkness fell.
His voice consoled her long enough to barely recognize the fact that it was him, and not a zombie, that had come for her. She uncurled just enough to shift towards him, and then tightened back up into a ball in his arms.
There was no calming down. No end to the shivering of her body. Until the lights came on, she was a silent, useless, frozen ball of fear. And that was his to take care of.

The moment the whrr started, Stormy had pulled both herself and Gale up on their feet, a jolt of fresh nerves running up her spine. Never good when it's enclosed areas and zombies; worse when it was dark.
She wasn't afraid of it, but it did put a wrench in her protection plans.
But she didn't stop the boys snapping at each other because her eyes were fixed on one solitary figure and the flashlight jostled and quickly being hidden by his attackers.
"Tuck!" she screamed. She shot Evan a fearful look, then nodded. Stay there, fine, but help him God please.
"Gale, look for flashlights, c-c'mon--" She summoned her weapon for protection, its size making it harder to wield but hopefully would act as a protective measure for the time being.

Grateful that Coyote covered one hand and forearm in gem-encrusted metal, Harland grabbed hold of Alistaire's hand with his free one in the dark so that they couldn't lose each other.
Since it was pitch black, and no one could possibly see them unless they happened to train a rare flashlight beam on them, Harland leaned in and whispered: "Please do not let go of my hand, mo chroi. Ye can curse me for days an' I can stage a public fallin' out if you're concerned-- but for now there're things more important, an' if it's goin' t' make you sick, fight it. We can't afford to get separated, ye ken?"
So close-- he thought he felt a flashlight with the tips of his gauntlet-clad fingers, but it seemed to skitter away.

For one brief moment, Finn had found Ripley's gloved hand with his own, and in just half a second after that, he felt fabric glide through his fingers as that hand jerked away. Something cold settled in the pit of Finn's stomach the moment that happened, and with at least one hand definitely free (as long as he was still holding Chel with his other) he summoned Trynt, hoping to be able to see by the light of the runes on his weapon as he moved the weapon back and forth in front of himself.
Maybe he could still find that a*****e and stick with him.

Harland waited for the light from a searching, thin beam to sweep past. No matter how well he knew where it was, the gauntlet was just hard for fine motor skills-- it skittered just out of reach again.

Gale only had one single thing to say to Evan as his fingers tightened their hold on Stormy's.
"Shut. Up. And let me do my bloody job you complete and total arse."

The minute his sword connected with flesh, he drew it closer to him. he already knew the smell of blood well (thanks to that sahara adventure) and hissed. It didn't mean it wasn't one of the infected, but it could not be one of them.
Then he heard the whimper and for the briefest moment, he thought it was familier whimper.
"Mark, if you are wandering around in the dark, it's your own damn fault-" He muttered some more curses, bending down and next to him to grab whoever's arm of whoever he had hit and draw them to a point he could see them with Chama's blade.
Either he would get a face full of mark or somebody...or it'd be a zombie.
It was at first one arm, and then a series of them, dragging Tuck under. They began to claw at him, their voices low, incoherent. One of them rammed his head with something heavy - just enough to make him dazed, ears ringing as he felt himself be dragged away.

SAVE TUCK: Summon your weapon and attack the those who are carrying Tuck. Every successful hit is one of them down. If you MISS at any point in time, Tuck gets dragged away. You must do three successful hits in a row, one for each infected dragging Tuck away.

His flashlight froze on the body of an injured hunter and in his head he could hear Ceres telling him how he should respond to the situation as a Moon trainee. Step one: quickly and efficiently asses the situation
Symbol on the coat didn't matter when there were other things that he was looking for specifically. The Hunter lying on the ground was lacking the neon-green trim that was par the course for Inoke's battle gear and, at a second glance, he did not spot goggles either. Not Jasper. Good.
Step two: assess the threat level
"Shut up." He muttered beneath his breath as he shifted on his feet, trying to focus his thoughts. He had to think and it was hard to think with Tivadar in his head, talking, interrupting...
If the Hunter on the ground was as wounded as they appeared to be there was a damn good chance that they had been infected. That makes them a casualty. Move on. Keep searching and be ready. You can't save everyone. He cringed inwardly as the words came to mind but he listened to them, backing away from the wounded hunter to continue his search
Words were blurred but Chel had orders. She immediately fumbled to the floor, searching for a flashlight for the others.
It was only then that she thought of something else.
"Jack? You okay with the dark?" She didn't know what the horsemen had done, but she imagined it didn't involve a lot of light. Either way, she knew what PTSD looked like, and wasn't about to drag Jack through it. Hopefully that girl was still with him (Hanna right?). She looked like she could kick some a**.
A hand fumbled forward for Finn or Ripley, but met with nothing but darkness. "Aw s**t."
